I have been continuing working on graphics for commissions, my own game "CHRONICLES OF HONOR - Age of Heroes", but I have continued my work on Haunted Hills. I have added more character types to my game, other than just women who work the streets to expand the reality of being in that situation. There are people of various levels of risk at being a victimized and how likely they are to be noticed being missing. The one thing that will not be in my game, as it doesn't fit the theme is that this game will not have any male characters in it. I am actually planning on having men in the next game, but this game or any game does not have any romance in it.


Okay, so the new characters are as following, but are currently not named or place holders for now.


Diane - A woman, who served in the army, but due to nightmares that she suffers from and an addiction to drugs has led her to losing her job and house. Her family hasn't seen her in years and mostly, she pan handles to get money for whatever she needs. She goes to the center, once or twice a week to get her money from an ex-spouse who isn't aware of her hardships or if he does, he doesn't seem to care.

VICE: Drugs, alcohol

Strengths: Her strength is that she knows quite a bit about fighting, when not high on something or drinking.

Weaknesses: She can be cruel, fights when on drugs or drunk, and fights very suddenly.

Uncertain: It is believed that she might have PTSD, but other people just think that she's hiding a deep pain inside that she doesn't like to talk about.


Rachel - A runaway, who likes to hang out at the beach and is apart of a band called the 'Death Angels' and ran away from home, away from her Catholic family to become a big star. Death Angels is mostly an underground band right now, but she she trying to get it into the big stage. She and her band live in a single apartment and work part time jobs. The sad thing is that she swears that her band is going to find her at any time and that they're going to make it big.

Vice: Seems pretty normal, actually

Strengths: Kind and sweet, with a bit of sass to go along with it.

Weaknesses: She actually can say one thing, and say another thing to someone else. She can turn on you in an instant.

Uncertain: Does she have a band or is there something wrong with seemingly average girl that doesn't fit in with the group of woman whose activities all involve the street in some way.


Michelle - Another woman, who has lots in common with Diane in that they are both addicted to drugs, only Michelle has turned away from drugs when she got pregnant with her twins. She still works the streets to earn money for college and lives with a three other women in the same situation. She has been beaten, robbed and raped (Two times in the last five years), but only once when she was working as a prostitute. She hasn't been arrested, since she had her children, but has been fined and ticketed over the years.

Vice: None, only a few cigs and maybe a drink from time to time

Strengths: She is fierce, determined and it is one of the reasons that she has survived over the last year in this horrible place. There is a humanity about her, as she tries to survive the best that she can without killing anyone and will not attack first. Although, she doesn't trust people enough to turn her back on them, either.

Weaknesses: Her lack of trust is what is her biggest problem, as she has seen women with PIMPS who are beaten and even, murdered at the hands of their pimps.


Candy - (real name not known) - She is a former exotic dancer, who burnt her bridges, because she was underaged when she started and even, did porn underaged, too. Now, she is 19 years old, and recently turned to prostitution to earn money. She has a real hatred of men, as it is believed she was molested by her father, uncle or close family member. She has been arrested for stabbing a man, even arrested for assault, but she claims that they were trying to attack her, so she defended herself.

Vice: None known

Strengths: None known

Weakness: No one can get close to her to find out what her strengths or weaknesses are, as she apparently doesn't trust anyone.


( =^_^= ) My inspiration still is to have a group of people that people seemingly think deserve their fate and me, I am saying that this women have stories, lives and the only thing that they deserve is that they should be safe any where. No one should be forgotten, not even if they are doing things that they shouldn't or things you disagree with. I wanted to create a story with a group of women, facing a horrible situation where you can, either pull together as a group or doing the wrong things. This game has three endings, a good ending, a neutral ending and a really bad ending, and I might create a secret ending... I am still trying to figure out how to have a better way of creating the endings.


Those are my new characters, but as usual, there is something more going on in this city. I do hope that people will, at least, give it a try. I am going to be selling it for $5.00, in hopes of making enough money for a new computer tower, so that's my ultimate goal. I will say this, though, none of my characters, even people who are the antagonists are throw away characters and each has/had a life, feeling and reasons for doing what they are doing. In the first game, I was making for a contest, I was pushing myself to get it done, because I was trying to make a short game and in a short amount of time. If I had been more honest with myself I would have decided that this game isn't going to be the right game for that contest and taken more time to get it finished.


I left things out of the game that should have been in there, if I had more time that is. This time is going to be very different and I am going to have more interaction with the characters. Jason, the antagonist isn't going to be seen in this game and it isn't even certain if he is in the city. Carol, the woman that he is looking for and believes that he finally found is his wife or girlfriend. It is his intention or their relationship that you will discover as you search your way through the city and avoid traps..


I wanted to explain further into my inspiration of my game and go into detail. Criminal Minds is a really good show with excellent characters, interaction and had really crimes, suspects and so on. I have always been interested in crime, but Criminal minds got me interested in looking up real life inspirations behind those episodes. In each case, I have found the real life inspiration behind the episode to be more interesting. This is one of the reasons that I put Criminal Minds as an inspiration and the second one, is an episode was really interesting. It was only similar in the fact that the suspect or antagonist captured people who were on drugs and forced them to escape. He had no intention of letting them escape, as he was always going to kill them.


Why prostitutes? Why not make the character some pure holy character, who haven't made mistakes in their lives, gone down the wrong path or facing hardship every day? Because I do not believe in people that worthless human beings, and I think that everyone deserves to be safe. Poor people in general do not truly trust the police and you know why? I do not know about other countries, but this is because many times the poor are subject to police mistreatment. If you add mental illness, color to the mix you often increase the likelihood of being shot by the police. If you have children and are arrested, you will have your children taken away from you.


The police in my country will use any excuse to arrest people in hopes of curbing the crime, and it's called the 'broken window' method. It doesn't work, actually and it actually increases crime, not decreases it. The sad thing is that people forget about prostitutes until they are found dead. I think that prostitution should be made legal for a number of reasons, safety and to do that you need to see their hardships. What type of hardships am I talking about?


1. Pimps - These horrible men use, beat, hunt down, murder and take any money that the girl makes. This is on the verge of rape, because if they do not do as their pimp says, he'll hurt them. There are, also, crime groups that trick young women from other countries that they are moving into the United States legally and when they are there, they are trapped. Why? Because they do not speak the language and are afraid of being deported. I do not know how many women are in this country that face this issue. (To be honest)

2. Drugs - Yes, drugs are not a poor person issue to be honest, and why would it, no one can afford it. That being said, the women who are using drugs and are prostitutes live in a bad side of town, live on the street and sell their bodies for drugs. I do not know how many women that do this, most certainly not all of them, but there is a connection between prostitution, drugs and crime groups.

3. Being robbed, beaten or attacked - when you get into the car of a stranger, you are at their mercy and sometimes people who are not so nice do things that effect you. The more illegal things you are into, the more likely you are to be arrested, fined and that includes if you are the 'victim'. Once, a police officer gets something into his head, he doesn't change his mind and will not listen to anything you have to say. (I have nothing against police officers who try to help the situation rather than jump to conclusions).

4. Murder - The worst case situation is being found dead by a serial killer or killer or even drugs. To me, there are no worthless people and no people who are throw away, with little purpose. This is the saddest case, because it was so preventable and that means to legalize prostitution, legalize certain drugs and have programs that help people to give people a choice. I do not feel that prostitution needs to be illegal, because it actually helps in the long term. Which I will not go into, actually.


My two main characters, Elisabeth and Keisha are from two different lives, but have found themselves on the same spot of life. None of them are on drugs, each of them had a reason for running away from home and one has been a prostitute for awhile and the other one has just started. But the biggest difference between Elisabeth and Keisha is this: Elisabeth can not go home for reasons you discover in game and mostly, it is Keisha's pride that keeps her where she is. Each of the characters are very different with their back stories, so I guess the question of, "Why prostitutes?"


I love to use characters who are not always perfect or have done the right thing in their life. It doesn't matter if they are prostitutes or decide not to be. The true story is that story is about two young women and their relationship with each other. It isn't about men, their relationship with me, but these women lives. So, I do hope that this explains my reasoning behind my game, because I sick to death of "strong" women. These strong women do not seem to face any hardships, feel any emotion and in my opinion to be strong doesn't mean that you are not facing hardships. Strong women have weak moments, too and that includes sad moments, as well. It's like being brave isn't that you are not afraid of something, but your willingness to acknowledge your fear.

I wanted to have a story about characters that you wouldn't normally see in a game like a horror game and those characters are prostitutes. A lot of young women, who run away or tricked into prostitution for one reason or another, from abusive relationship, to even being tricked into thinking that they are moving to the United States legally. Not every prostitutes life is the same, but they often share the same path and hardships. Some women have 'pimps' who beat them, force them onto the street, hunt them down when they try to get away, some women are on drugs and sell their bodies to support their habit and no matter what happens, they often do not go to the police. These women do not go to the police, because they will be arrested, fined, and if they have children, their children taken away from them. These women may be robbed, beaten, ripped off, raped (yes, raped, because they wouldn't tell people, because of the nature of rape trials would use their lifestyle against them) and an unknown amount of them are murdered.


There are a lot of stories of women on the internet, who got away from this lifestyle and I am not going to discuss it, only wish to state my inspiration about this game. I am not going to discuss it, only wish for people to see life through the eyes of someone that they might not have heard otherwise. I am not against the sex industry, actually, but I would rather it be legal, so these women can do it in a safe environment and not be afraid to go to the police for any reason.


The only thing that I would like to discuss is my characters, my story and my game in generally and will not discuss my inspiration... whatsoever. I have had bad experiences in the past, with people who started conversations about something dealing with women issues and they are always the same kind people. Thank you very much for your understanding and I am a person who is willing to talk, only if you don't come at me, like you are attacking my point of view.


Cait (=^_^=)/


Elisabeth - about to turn 17 years old. She ran away from home for reasons that deal with her father and due to the fact that her mother died of cancer a couple of years back. She believed that she could get a job, but reality has begun to set in, when her money runs out and she is forced into selling her body. She believes that anytime that she will get a job, so truth being told, Elisabeth is still kind of naive about life in general. She can be tough, but that is hidden within her, because right now, she's timid around stressful situations. Can she tap into that hidden strength, with the help of a friend, or will she slowly lose her mind unable to deal with the hardships around her?


Keisha - A young black woman, who ran away from home after a fight with her mother and mostly, pride has kept her from returning home again. She is tough, street smart and is more than willing to tell it like it is to naive Elisabeth, to help her from a life that Keisha has grown to loathe. She has been a prostitute for the last three years of her life, seen things that she would rather not and has been raped and beaten at least, once in her life.


Jason - Mysterious, dark person who is sadistic... Can you discover the secrets behind him, escaping from the city that holds you and the connection to him to Carol, to the past that he seemingly can not let go of.

Carol - Jason's girlfriend, who apparently left him for unknown reasons and she is the person that he has been searching for years, because she is the seemingly only person who understands him. She just seemingly vanishes into thin air over 18 years ago, for reasons that he never understand.


Inspiration: Corpse Party, Criminal Minds, real life crime shows

Motto: You must escape, but can you do so with your sanity intact!


I am taking a break from my big game, due to computer trouble and working on the problem. I won't go into that, but the problem is solved at any rate. While I am working on my commission, I am remaking a horror game that I created for a contest, and using Yanfly suggesting in her comic I am working on the traps, the database and stuff before I get to the awesome stuff of remaking my maps, plus, creating the layout of my locations. I am a bit stuck, because my game isn't a JRPG and that's the game that her comic is about. Sooo, I have to give it a lot of thought about how to do the things that she suggests.


1. Traps - I have a debug room, for my traps and already I have two created. Be wary of blood.

2. Instead of a darkness script, you are free to see everything around you, but I do use a tint to help with the atmosphere.

3. Thinking of layout before I start.


The game is called "Haunted Hills - The death of Innocence" It is a mature game with a young runaway teenager who went to look for work in the city, running away from her abusive alcoholic father, but like most teenagers she doesn't get the job. She ends up becoming a prostitute and like all prostitute, she finds herself taken by a person who means to do her harm. He gives her three days to escape using whatever is lying around and in this game, you make choices. Those choices lead you to an ending that may or may not be good. Can you escape with your sanity intact? This is a mature game, with a mature theme and mature language, with people that are not always remembered in life. My original game is for RPG Maker VX Ace and is one steam, but it isn't the best, as I made it in a month for a contest.


I would not suggest that copy at all, but please wait for the better version of the game. My sister is really waiting for this version of the game and already knows the story, she loves it. I used inspiration from various sort of horror games, from Corpse Party, crime shows (real life crimes) and unlike most horror games, there are no true enemies in this game. Only one, one man and he taunts you in the shadows. I had always planned on remaking it, because this game had things that I couldn't do in a month time and because I saw potential in the game.


I am planning on selling it, though to help raise money for glasses, new clothes and even a brand new computer, if I can sell enough. ^_^


I've been working on my game a lot from working on graphics and such, really needed to show off my latest map. (^_^)/ Anyway, here it is. It is an ingame map, with effects added, fog and such. Now, the thing is I need graphics created and I hope to the Gods that I can find someone. You see those characters? I have a total of eight characters, two children and six characters with two characters having two forms. I am going to have a side view battle system and going to use Yami's system. I am going to use Kudai battlers. (_ _') Urgh, I've look them over and I just have no idea how I am going to go about that, because I've never edited charactersets like that. .. not that radically. (o_o#) it does make you appreciate the professionals, actually.




IGMC original entry idea

Since I was moving during the start of the contest, I lost too much time and practically had very little time to do an entry properly. I wanted to share my game's original story with you, the version that I changed, because a few people had problems with it. The character had a couple of my own problems, but she wasn't me, not exactly. Yes, the story was meant to be, why is this happening and it seems very needless. The reason was that you see it from her point of view, she doesn't understand or see why these things are happening around her or why her brother is treating her this way. She has had enough and decides to run away when she finds herself taken to a place that she knows where she is, only a much darker version. Her brother is chasing her to 'bring her home' and she's not only still running away, but escaping from him, too.


I wanted you to learn and experience things from her point of view. As you search, you find memories, letters that not only tell you that she's overweight, but how she feels worthless, talentless, stupid, ugly with little self-esteem. This was me, years and years ago, and something I think that a lot of young girls and woman can relate to. She meets a friend, the one friend in your life that helps keep you sane and generally gives you the ability to laugh at life no matter how stressful it gets. But if you continued and you found all of the hidden clues, you would discover that the shadow isn't really your brother, but merely what you think your brother is. She begins to realize that she needs to take chances, makes mistakes and grow as a person, only with those things could she really gain confidence. You never change your brother, but she changes, because she learns that he's a know it all jerk, with bipolar, whose facing his own problems in life from lose in his life, self-esteem issues, temper problems... I really wanted their to be a lot of symbolism in the game from the dark place of hopelessness that she feels in her life and seeing the warmth of the sun with renewed possibilies of life.


Who was the villian? There isn't one, it's was suppose to be mostly an internal battle against her feelings, pain and her problems, even the way, she saw those problems. Some might say that her brother had no reason to treat her the way that he does, and yeah, there is a reason, only it's his own reason. He isn't the bad guy of the game, not a great guy, but a human with his own problems. The original title was going to be, "Innocence - Lost in darkness', because she is innocent and she feels completely lost in the world. I wanted to share this with people, because I know that there are girls who feel this same way out there. Even if you don't wear glasses, overweight, you might sympathize something of her situation, because you might have faced problems in your own life.


In the end, it's a personal journey to change yourself, not to change anyone else and that's why I didn't really want a villain. To me, a villain is a bad guy with no reason to do what he or she is doing. Anyway, let me know what you think of the story, even if I will not be making this game. I just couldn't do it, because it got called unoriginal by someone and another person thought that the title sounded like someone losing their virginity. I still disagree with that one, but oh well.


Riverhaven Academy

I was thinking today about a school called Riverhaven Academy that teaches how to solve crimes and other various aspect of criminology, however, there seems to be strange occurrence. It can be anything from ghosts to phantoms. It would have Professors and students, even interesting characters and you would be allowed to download the SDK, which would have tile sets and characters. It would have scripts, too. You would download the game, with its own terms of service. What I was thinking is that each pack could be release as DLC apart of an original game, each person who create a story would get a share of the profits of the game. I figure it could be a episodic sort of game, but doesn't necessarily have the same characters. I'd like to think something like the tauhoo project, only in the west and with a wide sort of characters. ^_^ If you chose to get involved, it would take place in an alternative world and have wide variety of characters, many race, gay or transgendered characters from young to old, even really short people.


What do you think about this project? This wouldn't interfere with my current project as I am still in the middle of writing the story for Cat and Dog.


I haven't dropped my other logo, but going to use that in game rather than in the title screen. This one has my finished, at least, without a couple of unforseen edits. What do you think? I am, also, running a poll on achievements, a mix of silly, serious or only one, silly or serious. I am on the fence about achievements, because I don't think they add much of anything. "Achievement - gained first potion!" or "Achievement - defeated first boss", but in the mean time, how are those achievements when you would have done that anyway.




Logo study

It is my attempt to study old title screens, because I thought that a lot of RPG Maker game logos had gotten too complicated. I decided to study logos and title screens from previous generation games to see what they did. They had a limit on memory, and many of them, did various things. Right now, I am studying various Nintendo title screens and will likely go to Super Nintendo, even Sega (likely) I am trying to reimagine them now, while my first one was a recreation. I am, also, taking it into consideration that the bottom portion will likely have the start menu.


I mean, cave story screen was so simple that it was almost empty... yet, Super Metroid had a little more, but wasn't overly complex. These are the title screens I have done.

I do not think that the logo is all that matters, but the picture it paints....


There was someone at a point, who asked about no healing in a game, but I recently was looking into an old Nintendo game called "Sweet home". If you love horror games, you will know that this is the game that Capcom was going to remake before they created "Resident Evil" and it is, also, quite a bit like the game "Corpse Party". There are differences, mind you, but I'll start with how they are the same.


You play characters, who find themselves in a house and searching for a fresco. They are trapped in the house and now, must search for another way out of the house. In this house are spirits and deadly creatures seeking to kill you and then, you have the dead, who have been killed in this house before you. There are notes and messages written on the wall in blood, and random things that can kill you.


Now, what's different is the fact that you have a character with a tool called +kit that can heal your characters, but if that character dies (yes, I just said die) you must search for potion or tonics. Those tonics are going to be pretty rare, from the sounds of it. You face battles and can gain levels, but it doesn't tell you how much you have to get to gain a level. Once, a character is dead, you can't bring them back to life like other games, and it does affect your ending. Each of your character has a tool that only they can use and there are work arounds if your character dies.


The only way for me to play this game is by ROM, which is a shame, because from what I learned about this game makes me want to play it. It, also, makes me mourn the fact that they went from recreating this game (which is a true Japanese horror) to making Resident Evil game that was more of a shooting zombie game than a true horror game. It teaches you that a good horror game doesn't necessarily need to be 3D in order to be scary or a horror game. Yes, I do believe in 3D horror as I believe in 2D horror, it's all about creating atmosphere rather than blood and guts. For atmosphere, you need good music and sound affects.


Whisper of Ghosts

After I finished with Cat and Dog, I plan on making a game that is created from a dream I had. This dream was about an island that was conquered about a hundred years ago, by a foreign power. You start woman believed to be from the eastern lands, who has no memory of who she is, but she remembers that she was travelling to the island for a reason. She searches the island discovered a sword from the country of Yamatai, with a name of Kikyo on it, so it is believed to be her name. As she tries to find her memories, she begins to witness the memories of another person from a hundred years ago, the most hated man on the island.. a man named Kaiser. The magi knight, who betrayed the entire island, and Kikyo believes that it is her only chance at finding her identity.


This game is going to have two endings and going to have a woman main character, as she seeks her own life, but the truth behind the missing rings and the last days of the rule of the counsel. I always created male characters, but this time, I started to put more female characters in my stuff...


I have yearning for adventure, things I would die for, a strong urge to help people... I always created game with males, because I mostly couldn't identity with typical women characters, but I think I am going to create the woman and male characters that I want to. So, there are going to be games with two main characters at times. I think that drama is life, from humor, comedy, sadness, happiness to even, love (from friendship and between two people). Women are powerful people, not physically, but emotionally determined people from protecting their family (Mulan - she entered the army for twelve years to save her father), Joan of Arc (who fought to save France), Madam Curry (who was a world famous for her work in science), to even a woman named Boudica, who rebelled after her husband was murdered and her daughters were raped.


They say women are stupid, weak and shouldn't be in charge, but when I look at those women, from various parts of the world and different times... They show me that women are smart, powerful, willing to die for people they love and the things they love. I am not alone and I think it's time that we show young girls what they can be. I think that everyone should experience motherhood, but that's not the only thing that they have to be. That's my opinion. So, when I see characters like the ones in Final Fantasy 15, whose sole mission in the game is to be pretty little things that guys look at, I feel disappointed in Square-Enix for letting it happen.


As you know that my father passed away, but my father's last dream is to buy my mother a house, instead of the mobile home that they lived in. I have a strong urge to take care of my mother and take care of her for my father. I keep thinking of his last wish that he had before he passed away, the house he wanted to buy my mother. My father was in the US Army (no wars) and worked really hard to support his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was generally a great guy to talk to. This isn't a call for money, but more of a please spread the word of this request.. if you wish to give money to this last wish, I would be grateful. I think it will help my father rest in peace knowing that my mother was well taken care of, in a nice house. Thank you for reading this and hopefully, you please spread the word.




I have removed the needs portion of my game and going to add an "ABS", but so far, none of the ABS scripts are what I need. I have given it much thought about what type of script I would need. I imagine that there would be a way of separating dungeon maps from every other map. A note tag or even something in the name. [Dungeon]. From there, you would enter the dungeon and whatever first party member you were using... would be the one you control. There would be a way you could switch party members.


This script would allow for no weapons or skill usage, because Cat and Dog doesn't use weapons that you equip. I think I might have to add battles at a later date, because I am unable to locate a script that would work. I know that scripters are quite expensive and I couldn't ask someone to produce such a script for free as that wouldn't be right. (although, if you did produce a script and allowed for commercial use, for everyone.. I wouldn't mind as it would be for the challenge deal)


That means, I will be updating my demo and if it goes well, I should start to promote my game on various websites if I can get them to talk about it. I have an idea for sales, that X percent of the games' sold will go to charity for animals. I figured that a game about a cat and a dog would be the best game for animal issues such as abuse and homelessness, even animals going without. I think that the way you treat the lesser members of your world shows your true colors.


I am still upset that I lost my video, but I might be able to download it off of youtube and I'll just need music to go with it. I am not happy that I am three months behind where I wanted to be. But, oh well, computer problems can't be helped.


I have been working on my game and almost finished with the demo. I began to think of possible side quests that could be in place of hard missions, because you don't get weapons, but what about memories? However, I thought that might upset some people and might want those memories to be apart of the story instead of mission connected (optional). What would you prefer? Some of the memories include how Cat and Dog first meet, as a kitten and some moments that really might make you laugh. So, with that in mind, which would you like... a, b, or c.


a) You locate these memories and have the ability to access them, through game play without side quests

B) You locate these spots by talking and accomplishing quests, which you can get by doing hard quests

c) a mixture of both, some accessed automatically and some by quests


I, also, have a preview of the poorer cat and dog city that you will ultimately travel to in the later part of the game. This is an old sewer that the cats and some dogs have turned into shelter.


My brother, Richard has Manic Bipolar and can go from being a pretty nice guy to complete a$$hat in a short amount of time. He has his issues with women and can be a little sexist (not woman hating) and if I am not perfect can rage at me. I do my best, but he can be violent and won't end an argument ever. He, also, gets into his professor mode and is pretty bad, too. He pretty much tells me how to do something, despite the fact that I do know what I am doing. He rants and raves about the strangest of things. Is the world's biggest know it all and acts like I know everything, when I do not think that at all. I have had a love-hate relationship with my younger brother, but I always thought that it was something that "I" did to make Richard angry.


He's the kind of person that if you somehow earned a million dollars, married the hottest person on the planet, was knighted, discovered you owned a castle in England, had a title passed down to you, created a gaming company and really became happy in a single day, he'd be the ashat that would come in to yell at you for something stupid. You left a piece of trash on the cabinet or you left a bit of dirt on the toilet seat, even didn't rinse your dish off, while he doesn't do anything from dishes to cooking, plus as a man likely pees on the wall.... (>.<) I am not saying that men are nasty people, because that's not true, but my brother, Richard is and has always been as complete donkey. (just replace donkey with the word, you mostly use to describe).


There was a time when the trailer park shut off the water, but later that night, the power went off in a certain areas in the park. He claimed went from talking about the illegals next door (on both sides), how he listened to music and how the trailer park shut off the power or did something to turn off the power. Meanwhile, it has gotten dark and we are getting cold, with no signs of the power coming on. My mother is getting irritated and with the power out, she found her account number. She took out some money and had Richard call the power company. He swore to my mother that the park paid the electric, but my mother kept telling him that they only paid the gas. Richard left and we finally got some piece and quiet. It never felt so good. A van came down the street and after a few moments, the power came back on.


I have been writing in a journal, because talking to my brother is like going to a dentist to get your teeth removed with a rusty pliers with no pain medication whatsoever. I love to have discussions with my one brother, as we talk about everything from religion, games, world events, the future, science, and stories ideas, and I wouldn't change a thing. This, however, isn't the type of talks you can have with my younger brother, or my mom, but that's another story and lucky, not as painful. I think if you read that entire thing, it's mostly a way to vent, but I tried to make it not make it look like I am always the innocent victim. I have been wrong and wronged, but I always try to make sure I do better next time. My brother isn't always the easiest person to get along with. He seems to hate me, even when I think of him and am really proud of all the hard work that he did to get his degree. He won't feel the same about me.


If you read all of that, thank you so much, but if you need some friend theory; go ahead and vent. I think we all need to support each other and sometimes just talking about it actually helps from troubles at work to a fight with a close friend. (^_^)


My game, Cat and Dog - a journey homeward is ready for test players. I am going to be picky, so please post to request to test play and I will PM you with a special link. I want feed back on the following things, spelling, grammar, how well the story unfolds and if there are bugs with possibility, or other things. Cat and Dog - Demo

I had to start all over again, so I've been working really hard to get the systems, plus chapter one finished. I had been so close to finishing my demo when my laptop practically died for all intent and purposes. I got my notebook on Christmas, so it has been awhile since I updated and restarted. I am still working on it, but if it goes well, I should be finished with my demo next week. I'll upload it at that time at any rate. I am excited, because I will need some game testers before I start promoting and getting attention for my game. I will need long term testers and I figured that the best way was to give you a reward for testing the game. I am going to give test players, free copies of the game and hopefully, on steam if it's possible. I am still thinking about that, so for now, I hope to get test players to play the demo to check for bugs, etc.


Just let me know if you'd like to help out by responding below. I am going to be very selective only choosing certain people as I do not want my game to be 'stolen' or put out there, even someone taking credit for my game. It will be 'locked'.


Development log - restart

My computer's motherboard had died, and I was forced to restart my game. I am lucky that I wasn't too far into the game, so it was easy to restart. I should be done in a couple of days and then start my promotion. I will update my demo, but I thought that I'd show off my company logo that I created yesterday.


I've thought about my dungeons & came to the conclusion that I needed to have interactive dungeons where the two characters has their own strengths and weaknesses with a heart system like Zelda. You would play as Cat and Dog as they go two different directions solving puzzles so the other can go further into the dungeon. Each character would have their strengths and weaknesses like Cat only gets into water for fish while Dog is willing to swim in water.


This is what I am talking about. Opinions? You would play two characters exploring the dungeon and going different directions as they solve puzzles. Well? Switching between Cat and Dog.



Development log - updates

I have been working on my game for the last couple of days and have made some progress like a flash back. This flash back is going to be my hardest, because I have to edit the sprite that I use for cat into an even smaller dirty kitten. I'd, also, have to create a leashed dog, that would be connected to a character sets. I'll post the story about Cat's origin story before she was found by her owner.


Cat was a kitten, who was lost from her mother and was wondering the streets. She would sleep in bushes and has lost a lot of weight. Happy was walking Dog when she ran into Cat, who was sitting on the sidewalk. Against her better judgement, Happy took this poor hungry lost kitten home and the rest is history. But that was a couple of weeks or a month and half ago, Cat doesn't even remember that. It's like a poor orphan story where she is taken into a new home.


Now, my current thought is the status icon for sick, food poisoning and the runs (Dysentery), but I can't figure out how those should look like. I hope that eventually I will get the cat character finished and work on the first boss. But what I haven't decided is how to do dungeons. Do I just make it so you don't have to eat or leave it as is.... I figure that the dungeons will have simple puzzles that animals might be able to solve, but still thinking about it. Right now, still working on the last icons and the lost kitten flashback. (=^_^=)



This is my first gif and it's one of my characters sleeping... Cat from Cat and Dog, she's a little cutie... Even though, I've love to slow it down a bit. Anyway, feel free to add it to your signature or tell me how to slow it down a bit so I can replace it with one slower. Hmm, I might create a Dog gif if I can think of the proper action for him and create it, maybe digging.

I have been having a problem with my fishing/hunting sections of my game, which is pissing me off a tad bit and mostly, it has to do with Bravo2kilo's script. Do not get me wrong as it is a great script, but the sad fact is that I can not turn it off. When you are trying to catch fish or hunt small animals, you will end up with a game over, depending on how much hunger you have. I'd love to have a way of turning that off, for certain maps only, but I am not a scripter, really. I am working so hard to get this chapter one finished, so I can do my kickstarter drive. I thought that maybe I could use a mouse script, but came to the conclusion that it would work everywhere. I, even, thought that maybe I could use another character and merely set their hunger to zero every time you fished or hunted, however, you can't do that. URGH, good grief!!!!! (/Charlie Brown moment over)


I asked Bravo2kilo, if I could use his script only I know that he's not active as much, but he does come on from time to time. I do need a script that you can turn off and on, when I need it, but at the same time, keeps the same level of need as when I turned it off. I hope you understand that, because I need to get this complete before my kickstarter, because a faulty demo will ensure that I do not make my budget. Hence the Charlie Brown moment I had earlier, but the harder I think, the more I just want to do a cheap method temporarily.


I am thinking of just using the random loot script that I have going for the trash cans and work on something better when I finally get my kickstarter going. What do you think, honestly? I could make it work, only with a commercial game I always imagined mini games and it would impress people to play a mini game. So the question is the following, do you think that I should use the random loot method or get it work no matter what?


1. Temporarily random method

2. Get it to work, wow those people on kickstarter

3. Heck with it, have the temporary method become the only method.


Fishing mini game

My biggest problem, currently has to be the fishing game and how I'd rather not just have people click a button. However, I was thinking of having a fishing mini game where you try to catch a fish, which sounds nice on paper, it is the how that's hard. I could have you start out in the water, where you see silhouette fish that you chase down, and make them really quick. I could make a timer of sorts, which would give you a bit of a challenge. I believe Dog's hunting skill would be similar, except on the ground and not the water.


It all makes me do, hmm, I need to get this finished so I can release it with my kickstarter. I want a polished demo for my game, with a prologue and chapter one, which means a chapter one boss. I have given a lot of thought about the fishing and hunting parts only to come up blank. I have given thought to rewards for my kickstarter, which one of them is going to be for my rpg maker thread. If you donate at a certain level, for a set amount of people, will receive my more unique graphics for my game, plus, unreleased sci fi graphics. I am still thinking of a million things, but if you have suggestions about the fishing/hunting parts, I am more than happy to listen.


This is one of the biggest parts of the game and it has to work perfectly and all the time, too.



I am having a bit of trouble, so I will start at the beginning. I needed a random item script that acts much like the old time rpg maker 2003 where you have a list of random things you can find. Unfortunately, they removed that from RPG maker at some unknown period of time, which must be done by script. So, I found that there was a random item script from nicke, xail system random items. I tried it out and keep getting a error ... which is strange considering which script it is.

Can someone please explain why I keep getting this error. I put the scripts in the exact order I have them in rpg maker vx ace. Thank you so much.

I have figured out that it is the last script that's the problem.



I want one of five items, from common - trash, to likely - rotten meat or fish and rare - bad meat or fish. So I decided to use script by nicke, and added the items that I wanted to have random, plus, I am using Shaz's extended function as a timer to prevent you from farming alot of food in a short amount of time. I know that I am doing something wrong. It says 'wrong number of arguments [5 for 1].
