Event Can't Move to tile with certain region ID

11 posts in this topic

I've been trying new things with region ID events, and I had this idea about not allowing events to move to a tile that has a certain Region ID.

So the event will walk around on it's region ID by detecting the region ID of the next tile and if it is walkable he'll move to it, if not he'll turn around and go somewhere else.

Is this possible?

EDIT: For eventing only

I suppose it would be using parallel processes to control movement and lots of conditional branches or something... though I'm not sure why you would want to if the solution is simple and more efficient bot in development time and game processing using a script.

Well, I'm not trying to create a game, I'm not interested in using someone elses scripts, I want to better my events and scripting by reading and learning. Thanks for trying to help anyway though.

Just use script calls; they are an integrated part of the RM event system.

There is no need to avoid them even if you are an event purist.

Well, I was hoping to avoid scripts from systems I want to make until I understand scripting better (Which I am far from) But it's looking like I'll have to turn it up a notch and get my rear into gear, hm.
