      Forum Upgraded!   07/17/2017

We have successfully upgraded our forum to the latest version! Some things have moved around but don't worry everything is still there, we still need to find updated versions of the plugins we were using previously to restore everything to the way it was. There will be a running topic in the Feedback and Support in case you notice something wrong. Before you do so please clear your browser cache and close your browser completely to rule out a caching issue. Thank you for your patience during the outage and while we get everything back to 150%

RGSS3 Player has stopped working...

9 posts in this topic

So I've tried to play around 4 games from other developers and for whatever reason my RGSS3 player crashes every time. Either at the start, or once i'm supposed to control the character. It works just fine when test playing my own game, so I'm at a loss.

The only time I have seen rgss3 crashes is when scripts the game used weren't disposing of objects properly. But if it's happening to you with every game you try, then I guess it's unlikely to be related to that.

Yeah I've been wanting to give Pirate Rush a go, and it crashes right after the scene about the sacred islands.

Ultimately I don't mind not being able to play other games, I'm just afraid when my demo's released it'll crash for other people. Guess I'll have to find out.

I am super bummed about not being able to play Pirate Rush though.  :(

I had an issue with that many versions ago, which is where I first had an issue with this error. I discovered what it was and since fixed it, so I'm not sure why it would be happening for you (assuming you have the latest).

What other games have you tried that did the same thing? It would be good to know the cause of it.

Crysalis, Cyberdrive, and there was another that was actually playable but I don't remember the name of it.

Yeah I have the latest from http://rpgmaker.net/games/4260/

have you moved any of the program files?(like the regular program files and the rtp may need to be checked)

or maybe is your hard drive fragmented? (it may not effect it if its not to badly fragmented but a horrid fragmented hard drive is hell)

I had to defrag my hard drive cause i had a problem with everything, like i couldn't even get past the title logo to open ace. your may be a different problem, but it is worth checking those cause they can be a real pain in the neck.

Haven't moved anything but thanks I'll try a defrag, makes sense. :)
