Blogs: Stats & Facts, 5th Entry

*A month later.* Hello everyone. I'm not in the mood of writing a super-duper happy blog entry, so let's get straight to the point: in this entry, we'll take a look at a blog's settings. They can be accessed by clicking on the little arrow facing down beside your name, in "Manage Blogs".Your blog (or blogs, if you have many of them) will be listed. Click on "Options" and finally, click on "Manage Settings".   Well done, you're now able to edit your blog's settings. End of this entry, make the rest by yourself. Meh, I'm just kidding. Kind of. The settings are actually very well made. They're simple, easy to get and you have explanations that goes along with them. You can't possibly fail at setting your blog's settings.   This was probably the shortest and most useless blog entry I ever made about Blogs: Stats & Facts. However, there were maybe some people new to this site who couldn't access their blog's settings. Or maybe they've been around here for quite some time, but were never interested in changing their blog's settings, if they had any. Well, now they can. Congrats, folks.   "Stay tuned" for more blog entries about blogs. However because we covered pretty much everything about blogs in general in all of these five entries, the next entries will be very different from the other ones. Until next time, Jay.

Blogs: Stats & Facts, 4th Entry

Hello and welcome back everyone ! In the first, second and third entries we looked at views, comments, likes and even followers. Today, we're gonna cover the entry publishing options. I'm pretty sure you all noticed these options on the right, allowing you to specify on what day, month and even hour you want your entry to be posted. And the year. But come on, who's gonna change the year they want their entry to be posted ? There are also a couple more options.   So, the days: you can choose between 1 to 31, and I guess it's normal. The months: All of the 12 months are available, duh ! The hour: You can specify any hour and minute you want. Not the seconds though.   These three options can be useful, if you're the kind of person who writes his/her blog entries in advance, you can set the date so your previous entry continues to "live" for a moment.   The year: Now that's the funny part. You can currently choose to post your entry between 2004 to 2015. Which means you can wait a whole year for your entry to be posted, it can be posted this year and it can be posted.. years ago ? Wait, what ? How is this even possible ? Just to be sure, I tried to post an entry in 2004. It worked ! Until I made the draft entry a published entry. When you turn the draft to a published entry, the year comes back to normal. Then.. why can we even have the option to publish our entry.. in the past ? Is it some issue nobody ever considered ? I mean, that's kinda weird.. and useless. I thought it was funny/stupid, so I wanted to share this with you.   Just below these options, you can set your future entry to be either a draft, either a published entry. I don't really know why anyone would set an entry to be posted later but as a draft.. but whatever, let's continue with the options. OH and I just noticed: the "Publish" button below this option.. doesn't even work. Odd.   You can also "try" to create an Entry Poll. Why "try" ? Because on Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox, nothing happens when you click it. Am I missing something ? Am I doing something wrong ? I just click on it, ya know. And nope, nothing.   You can also choose in which category your entry will be posted. If you didn't know, you can actually separate your blog into multiple different categories. It helps the readers searching what they're looking for in your blog, so they don't have the scroll the page for hours to find that one entry they're searching for. Or maybe your reader is only concerned about a certain type of entries you're publishing ? Either ways, it would be best to create categories to sort your entries. A little order can never hurt.   You can also follow (or not) your entry when you post it. Simply check or un-check the little box and there ya go, you made your choice. If you follow your entry, you will receive a notification if a comment is left on your entry. Which can be pretty useful.   Finally, you can upload a file (maximum single file size is set at 10MB). You can upload two of them.   That's pretty much it for today ! These were the basics of course, and anyone publishing an entry probably already noticed and used all of these (or most of these) functions. Next entry, we'll be looking at a blog's settings. Stay tuned for more ! Jay Heartay   * Anyone knows why the "Entry Poll" is even there ? Or why can you choose the year of posting ? Any theories ? And what's the use of the un-working "Publish" button ?

Blogs: Stats & Facts, 3rd Entry

Welcome back yet again for a third blog entry about blogs ! ... Yeah I know right. If you missed the first and second entries, about views/comments and views/likes respectively, you might want to take a look at 'em. This entry's subject will be followers !   In case you didn't notice, you can actually follow a blog you like. If you follow a blog, you'll receive a notification every time a new entry or comment has been posted. You can also follow a blog anonymously. If you do, you will still receive notifications (if you want to) but you won't be shown as a follower of the blog. You can also follow a single blog entry, thus you won't get a notification about the other blog entries a blog can contain. A lot of topics on the forums are being "followed" but when it comes to blogs, it seems either nobody (or almost) follow blogs, either everyone does, but anonymously. I decided to take a look at some of the most commented blogs on the forums, as we already found out that we cannot rely on the number of views a blog gets. Here's the stats:   Arctic Fox's Blog, by Arctic Fox -> 51 comments, 0 follower. Cait's Blog, by Cait -> 39 comments, 0 follower. Near Misses of the Mundane Sort, by The Second -> 31 comments, 0 follower. Alendalin RPG, by RyokoHonda -> 27 comments, 1 follower. * Yes, I skipped some blogs and I did it on purpose, you will understand later.   As you can see, these blogs have plenty of feedback but no followers. Except Alendalin RPG. HOWEVER, there is something I didn't mention in the stats and that I should have. Maybe it has (or had) an influence on the number of follower. What is it ? The last time the blogs were active. If a blog HAD followers, maybe it lost a crucial part of them over time because the blogger didn't blog in his blog anymore (that's a lot of blogging we got there). Here's the last time these blogs were active:   Arctic Fox's Blog -> June 19th, 2013 Cait's Blog -> January 13th, 2014 Near Misses of the Mundane Sort -> December 12th, 2013 Alendalin RPG -> August 4th, 2012   "Arctic Fox's Blog" and "Alendalin RPG" are dead, obviously. "Cait's Blog" is still fresh and "Never Misses of the Mundane Sort" is left behind a little. Is the "lost followers over time theory" still accurate ? Maybe. Maybe not.   Why isn't there any followers for blogs ? Is it because there is no full-time active blogs ? Is it because blogs on this forum aren't interesting enough ? Is it because nobody noticed the "follow" options ? What's your thoughts ?

Blogs: Stats & Facts, 2nd Entry

Welcome back ! First of all, you may have noticed I renamed my last entry to "Blogs: Stats & Facts, 1st Entry" because I tought it would reflect the content way better. I found a particular interest into blogs, and I am planning to post a lot of entries concerning the subject. This entry's subject is, obviously, feedback. In the comments from the first "Blogs:" entry, this caught my attention:     The Second, on 12 Dec 2013 - 4:22 PM, said: " I decided to do a little investigation into the .jp blogs to see if there's a correlation between the English and Japanese communities in regards to number of blog hits, number of comments, and amount and freshness of content.   What I found matches up remarkably well with your findings, that even the most popular of blogs seem to have heavy traffic, but generate few comments.   [...]   Does it have to to with an ungrateful or unfriendly community? I don't think so, as most blogs with a 'like' or 'thanks' button on each blog entry tend to accumulate quite a lot of 'one-button praise'. [...] "   When I read the last part, here is the first thing which came to my mind: Likes ? What likes ? Sure, there is a "Like this" button, but seriously, do people even know about it ? Maybe it's just me, but I looked at the following blogs:   Silversatyr's blog -> 3 entries, 4 comments, 5,050 views, 3 likes. Animated Battlers -> 8 entries, 27 comments, 7,301 views, 1 like. Dark Horsemen -> 3 entries, 12 comments, 3,728 views, 2 likes. Little girl that could dev blog -> 6 entries, 4 comments, 3,589 views, 1 like.   Total: 19,668 views, 7 likes, 6 "likers" (I'll explain later).   Now, may I ask you: What likes ?! I noticed in the 4 blogs above that there is a person who has 2 likes on "all these" 7 likes. Which means there are 6 persons who liked ("likers") the entries. I suppose it wouldn't be that bad, if we didn't count the total views: 19,668 views... Where's that famous "one-button praise"..? Is it that hard to take 2 seconds in order to let someone know you liked what you read or tought it was interesting ? I don't think so.   Now, maybe some people will say: "Yeah, well, nobody cares about likes, Jay. If you do, you're a 'like whxre', like, seriously. You just want attention. ATTENTION SEEKER!!" Please calm down my friend, I'm sure we can talk like two gentlemen. I really don't mind if I get likes or not. Right now I have 9 likes, and none came from anything that had to do with my blog. And I assure you I'm still perfectly fine.   We're finally in 2014 and I tought I would take a resolution just for you guys out there, publishing stuff in your blogs and creating or answering a topic. If I ever come across anything that I really enjoy, tought was interesting or was useful to me in any way, I will be SURE to give it a little "Like" as a token of my appreciation. Yes, my appreciation. Coming across something interesting makes me happy :] ! You're free to do this as well, if you're not already doing it. You're also free NOT to. Just in case people say I'm only doing this to get likes back, which isn't the case.   Just asking: Why is the number of likes we received is displayed on our profiles ? What is it for ? Is this some sort of popularity-meter ? The more likes you have, the more awesome and/or useful you are ? Why should it even matter anyway ? Why showing it ? Did you ever ask yourself why that thing even exists ?   Special thanks to The Second, who took interest in my previous blog entry and even helped me ! He took a bit of his spare time to search the .jp blogs and to let me know of his findings, even elaborating a theory of his own on the subject. His comments were very useful to me and very appreciated. Thanks :] !   If you tought my previous blog entry or this one- or both- was/were interesting, please stay tuned for more, as I will be posting other blog entries concerning.. blogs ! Jay.

Blogs: Stats & Facts, 1st Entry

So I've been wandering the forums a lot lately just to take a look at the community. To me (very important, your opinion may differ), it looks something like this:   There are the scripters/eventers, the spriters, the mappers, the writers, the "Jack of all trades", the staff, etc. Each "category" has some sort of popularity and all have purposes. Spriters and scripters seems to be the ones getting the most interest from the community.   I didn't really encounter any music composers. Sure, there are some, but not a LOT. Mappers are fairly numbered, though not as much as other categories. Writers. It seems like there are a LOT of writers out there, including myself.   The staff get their job done excellently and all the "Jacks of all trades" are, well, Jacks of all trades, I guess. I probably forgot some categories but whatever, here's the main point in all of this: Bloggers. "Wait, what ? Bloggers ? Jay, there is no such category !" Oh, really ? You think so ?   In average, two or three blog entries are posted everyday. They get somewhere between 50 and 200 views approximatively, depending on their content. Yep.   Take a look at silversatyr's blog. Three entries, almost five thousand views. Content: tilesets, sprites and edited battlers. Then, the community must really find all of these interesting ! Yes AND no. On all these 5,000 views, there are only 4 comments. Not much of a ratio, uh ? Well, it's probably because a lot of these views were acquired via randoms, persons who aren't part of this community. A whole lot of people search for ressources on Google, so anyone searching for such things can possibly find his blog. They take what they need, then they go away.   The blog Dark Horsemen, by Dark Horsemen, has 3 entries and 3,600 and something views. There are 12 comments, which is a lot better, but take a look at his entries' views: Two of his entries have respectively 402 views with 5 comments and 384 views with 4 comments as of right now. We're far from 3,600, aren't we ? Well, his first blog entry has 2,035 views ! But only 3 comments ? Look at the entry's title: Fire Emblem Black Knight Sprite. Yes, Google probably stroke again.   Let's take a bigger blog: Animated Battlers, by Holder. It has 7,235 total views and 27 comments. Pretty good ! Let's take a look at his blog entries. First entry: 1,008 views and 8 comments. Second entry: 545 views, 9 comments. Half the views, but one more comment ? Weird. Well, his first blog entry has the "animated battlers" tag, and not the second one. His third entry has 501 views, but only 2 comments. Things get even worst with all of his 5 other entries. They have between 194 and 271 views, with 0, 1, or 2 comments- except one, which has five. Is it Google's fault this time ? I don't think so. It's probably the community who began to lack interest for him.   Part 2 coming soon, stay tuned for more.

How the- ?

So I decided to look back at my blog entries and noticed something astonishing AND hilarious. I once made a blog entry about Project JamTam explaining that I'd take my time, as nobody seemed fairly interested. So there was no reason to stress at all. Then I explained what I was working on and stuff.   However, two months later, it became my blog's most viewed entry at 500 views. Wait, what ? If I didn't blog for two months I'd understand, but I posted tons of entries after that particular one. How the heck could this happen (laughs)? A bug, a troll or I missed something ?

Multiple blogs ?!

I just discovered I could actually have more than one blog. I think I will consider splitting the content I'm posting on my blog (or blogs, if I create other ones) depending on the content that will be posted in it. Matter of logic, right ? I don't know how many blogs you can have at once or if there is an actual limit to it, but I think I will be managing multiple blogs all at once:   A blog for my Project JamTam content. A blog for Horror Stories/Creepypastas I'll write. A blog for songs lyrics I'll write (yep, I'm also a poet).   This way, if someone is interested in Project JamTam, he or she will be able to follow my blog and read only about JamTam, not minding about the horror stuff and my poet-ish side.   Did YOU know we could have many blogs ? If not, would you prefer to split your content, too ? If you already knew, why didn't you decide to split your content ? Or did you ?   Feel free to leave a comment down below !

[JamTam] Universe Entry: The Conflict

So, let's recap everything I already wrote in this blog about the universe when it comes to the conflict: The Yin Yang was perfectly stable. However, a stranger energy disrupts the balance of the Yin Yang itself, thus spliting into the Yin and Yang entities. Both the Yin and the Yang thinks the only ennemy is each other. But if they are the only energies in this universe, than what disrupted their balance, which was perfectly stable ?   Jam is the good guy, chosen by the Yin Yang's positive energy (GOOD). Tam, on the other hand, is the bad guy, chosen by the Yin Yang's negative energy (EVIL). Here's the twist: In this universe, Good and Evil are constantly clashing against each other. HOWEVER, Evil isn't the REAL ennemy. The real ennemy is CHAOS (I told you, partly inspired from Adventure Quest Worlds). Chaos energy is WAY MUCH STRONGER than Good or Evil energy. Not only that, Chaos can also possess many persons. Even at the same time. Each person that Chaos energy possesses loses all of their feelings, toughts, emotions, etc. Basically, they become pure and sheer destruction weapons. But.. is Chaos a living entity with toughts ? Is it only some kind of energy that enchances your abilities ? Or is it controlled by someone..?   Nobody knows, but one thing is sure: It's powerful. Oh, and it's coming.

Updates...

*A month later* Hello everyone ! No, I did not disapear from Earth, my laptop simply decided to crash.. for good, this time. Guess I'm not really lucky with these kinda things. So basically, I lost everything I had. It's so frustrating.. I had changed the menus, the battle menus, and all that stuff. I decided to put a lot of (already existing of course) scripts in it and it took me soooo many hours to get all of them working. And now, it's gone. Again.   No need to say, I will not be making RPGMVX Ace games anymore. Everything I did either never went as planned or disapeared before I had the time to finish the project itself. I will probably be making RPGMVX Ace games again *in the future* (in a couple months, minimum).   However, I'm far from being done here, on these forums. Even though I'm nothing but a drop of blood in the Red Sea here, I feel like this website's blog section is where I belong. I will be writing creepypastas, horror stories, fantastic stories and many more.   Also, Project JamTam is far from being forgotten. Of course, it will not become a RPGMVX Ace game. BUT, it will be a story that I will write here, in this blog. The storyline is already planned waaaay ahead as of right now, so new parts of the story should be coming every now and then. BEFORE, I will present to you the universe and characters/ennemies more in depth, so you can feel kind of immerged when I'll be putting the story parts online.   "Stay tuned !" - Jay

Project JamTam Updates #1

Well, nobody seems fairly interested, but it's okay ! I'll still write down what's happening every now and then, I promised this blog would be active after all. Seeing the lack of interest from everyone, I decided to slow down a bit though. 'cause I mean, shouldn't mind right ? So right now the game's prologue done, but I don't really like the menus and interfaces. I'll look for scripts that change things around a little. The standard battle interface is kinda annoying too, so I will search a script for that as well. If anyone reads this and knows some good scripts for either one (or both) of these things, please let me know in the comments below !   Other than that, I will search for additionnal ennemy battlers/facesets/sprites, 'cause honestly it feels like there isn't enough of them by default. I might as well try to create better facesets, I'll look for a script or a program that could help me with that. If you know anything I could use in order to do so, again, please let me know. So basically I'm working on the basics of the game's system.   Once I'll be done with all of this, I'll probably upgrade the prologue a bit by adding some stuff and I'll finally begin Chapter 1. As the main story is pretty much already written it should be kinda easy to work on the different chapters.   Until next time, Jay.

Project Reveal: JamTam

Hello everyone ! I wrote in my last entry this blog would be active a lot this week and I wasn't writing anything. First entry of a couple ones, let me introduce you to the project I was talking about. It's called JamTam. The universe was inspired by Dofus, Naruto and Adventure Quest Worlds. Yeah, the three of them are kind of childish, but actually it's pretty great in terms of inspiration. So here's how the universe began:   We are in another dimension than the world we know. Of course there are forests, oceans, volcanos and such things, but there are also fantastic creatures, magic and pretty much all the fantasy stuff you can imagine. The civilisation is set at Medieval Times, because of course, fantasy and Dark Age mixed together are pretty awesome, aren't they ? As of right now it's just a basic Dark Age but there's more to it:   In this dimension, a Spirit Ball manages the balance of the world. This so called Spirit Ball is actually Yin and Yang energy mixed together, thus forming the Yin Yang. However, over time, the Spirit Ball becomes unstable, and the balance is disturbed. The Spirit Ball then splits into two halves: The Yin and the Yang. The Evil and the Good. The Darkness and the Light. Both of them are conscious entities and have a personnality. However, they need a body in order to interact with the human world. But not any body: the human must not be "born" yet, so it has to possess a fetus.   The Yin, the negative energy, possesses a fetus of a woman whose husband killed himself no long after learning his wife was pregnant. The Yang, the positive energy, possesses the fetus of a woman whose husband is the king in this universe. It was impossible to tell the energy was there, but it was. And it was waiting.   Having a child with such energy has a price, though. At birth, the mother's energy is consumed and the mother dies. The child who borned with Yin energy, a boy, had no parents and the child who borned with the Yang energy was the first- and last, king's son. This is where their lives part ways:   The Yin (negative) energy manifests at birth, and the newborn child grows sixteen years old in seconds. Confused, he asks himself what just happenned, only to hear a voice in his head answer him. He is then warped to another dimension, where eveyrhing is black. The Yin entity then introduces itself to him, telling him about the energy he (the child) holds and the goal it (the entity) has: the goal to destroy peace. To create war. To make a reign of fear and terror. The entity then names the child " Tam " and explains him his different abilities: Stealth, sword and daggers mastery, Dark Arts (Black Magic) and Fire Arts (Fire Magic). Tam, not completely agreeing with the ambitions the entity has, hesitates. Unfortunately, he has no choice, as the entity takes control over his body anytime it wants. Tam is then manipulated and becomes the entity's puppet, comitting crimes and spreading fear for thirteen years. However, it is stopped by the realm's king, whose wife just died. Tam is imprisonned in a very special cell: No lights, no sounds, nothing. Only white magic chaining him to an empty place where reason cannot be put into proper words anymore. Unfortunately, fourteen years later, some of Tam's disciples come and rescue him. Evil is now free. Once more.   However, the Yang (positive) energy didn't manifest at birth. In fact, it manisfested thirteen years after the child's birth (his birth date is the very same than Tam). That day, the boy's father, the king, returned to the castle after a "very hard day". He was completely drunk. He became violent and attempted to kill his own son, blaming him for his wife's death (which is actually the case). The king grabbed his sword, and as the blade was about to reach his son, the Yang energy manisfested and defended the king's son. By accident, it kills the king. The king's child grows a decade older in seconds. Confused, he asks himself what just happenned, only to hear a voice in his head answer him. He is then warped to another dimension, where everything is white. The Yang entity introduces itself and tells him about his goal: To establish peace, a reign of justice, to create the perfect, peaceful kingdom. It also tells the king's son the powers he holds: Unhuman strenght and resistance, and a bit of Light and Ice magic. The entity then names the child " Jam ". Jam accepts to fulfill the entity's goal. In return, the Yang entity promised not to take total control over his body. A year later, Jam becomes king and learns " Prisonner 15 " escaped from prison. Isilbert, his councellor, who also were his father's councellor, tells him the story about the so called " Prisonner 15 "(which is Tam) his father had asiled.   This is where it all begins...

Hope IS back ! Kind of.

A friend of mine finally repaired my old laptop ! It feels so good to be on RPG Maker VX Ace again ! It's been soooo long. Way too long, in fact. By searching really deep in my laptop I found an old storyline I wrote. Me and a friend of mine, we invented a universe:   Magic skills (a.k.a Elemental Arts), places and realms, races, everything ! Nothing was missing, we had it there. But unfortunately time passed and we began to forget about it. We wrote this three years ago.. damn. And it's that good ! Not bragging, it's really awesome. The universe we created was inspired by Naruto, Dofus and Adventure Quest Worlds. There's a lot of crazy stuff in there. And I'm taking it back !   It's been 3 days now that I'm working on it and the prologue is almost over. This blog will be active like hell this week ! Can't wait to share it with you. " Stay tuned ! " ~ Jay

Hope is back ?

I learned a friend of mine could somehow revive my old laptop by changing pretty much all the pieces inside. Costed less than buying a new one for sure, as he spent 80 bucks on performing this Edo Tensei on it. Datas I had could be recovered as the hard drive is supposedly intact. This means all the projects I planned a few months ago could possibly have a second breath.   Horror stories adapted into games, a Create a Character fully driven by events, and some games I worked on for fun. Exemple: I put a lot of hours into a Slender: The Eight Pages remake for RPG Maker VX Ace. The atmosphere I was able to create in this project was incredible and if I can get it back, thank God. Of course the game was completely different from the original (except for the eight pages of course) but the jumpscares were pretty awesome.   I worked hard on them I must say. I also slighty edified sprites I created with the Character Generator to add blood or creepy facial effects on 'em. The sounds in the game are the very same than slender: the background music, the noise your footsteps make, the jumpscare noise and of course the game over is the same. I also managed to include a stamina bar so you're not running like crazy. Nope. Even worst, the running speed in this game was the standard walking speed. Yep, standard walking was slower than normal. Why ? It adds to the fun and to the thrill. The game was silent, slow. But damn when you encounter the slender man the sudden, loud noise made your heartbeat go wild.   I also added secrets through the lost forest. Collectibles, weird items, puzzles.. which added a twist to the game. Example: one of the eight pages could be in a book.. which is in a library. Not so easy to find. Especially when you need a key to access the library. And who knows, maybe someone is lurking in this forgotten place.. or something ?   Long story short, if I get back all I worked on, expect me to be active like crazy.

Real-life creepypasta: Creepy side of my life

Hello. First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Gabriel. I'm 16 years old, and I have two brothers: Anthony (13 years old), Zackary (6 years old) and one sister, Wendy. First thing you must be thinking is: " Why are you introducing yourself at this point ? This is personnal info ! " Well, I've always been told not to believe strangers. And neither should you. These introductions had a goal: By showing this much trust into you, I'm waiting from you the same. Trust me and trust these words, this story.   This is by definition, somewhat of a creepypasta. However, everything I am going to tell you really happened. It is true. Not something I came up with. Which could have been easy as my imagination is somewhat impressive. But let's forget this fact for now. The one thing that interests us right now is trust.   *This story I'm gonna tell you is serious stuff. So please note this story will NOT include: - any reference to satan/satanists/pantagrams - demonic beings or demonic laughs - black and red eyes / sharp teeth / sharp claws - gore   Ready ? Now let's get started (please note it happened in YEARS, so it's very long): From stories I heard from my parents about myself being a baby, I was calm, quiet. I was always happy and I acted kindly. I learned to walk, to speak, etc., very quickly. Then school first appeared in my life. They told me I didn't have a lot of friends. Most of the time I was alone, but I didn't really care. I could still have fun and I was learning pretty fast. Honestly, my childhood, from 1 to 4 years old, was really great. Nothing wrong, everything was normal. So let's skip this part, as you're not here to read a boring story about a normal baby, right ?   Everything started when I was 5. My parents told me I was always looking around me for no reason. Sometimes I would look and the ceiling, sometimes I would look by the window. And even if they tried hard to figure out what I was looking to, they always came up with no answer. My parents were worried, but tought it was my imagination. No long after, I started to say weird things to them. Like: " Quand j'étais vieux, j'étais malade. " This is French by the way. If you didn't know, my mother language is French, as I live in Quebec. However, in english, this translates to: " When I was old, I was sick. " When they heard me say this, they were kinda confused. Even when THEY told ME I told this to them when I was younger I couldn't believe them. And I was confused as well. How could I ever come up with this at the age of 5 ? When I didn't even know old persons were sick before dying, most of the time ? Yet, they kept telling me I really did. So I asked them to keep on talking to me about my childhood.   They told me I began to claim I was seeing people inside our house, mostly in my chamber. An old couple, and I could even describe them. Once again, they tought it was my imagination, but they began to have doubts. So they asked me what was these persons' names. I answered to them the lady's name was Jacqueline (French name of course). However, I didn't tell them anything about the one who they figured out was her husband. In the same week, my father, Ghislain, asked his father, Denis, if he knew a Jacqueline who lived in Saint-Alban (name of the town I live in). Of course, as a grandfather, he knew pretty much everyone who lived in the town from the moment he was born up to the time my father asked him. After thinking a few days about it, he told my father he, in fact, knew a person called Jacqueline. He also told him it was funny, because she used to stay in the house we were living in at this time. My father, a curious person, asked him what was her story. My grandfather answered him she was pretty old and she began to feel sick for long periods of time. She fell in an illness no long after. She couldn't get out of bed anymore, so her husband (can't remember the name, sorry) was taking care of her every single day. And as everyone was expecting, she passed away. At the funerals, his husband said he held his hand to her very last breath, that he stayed with her until the end. A few years after, he also passed away, alone at his house, in bed. My father asked where was their room. And Denis answered it was where MY room was. My father freaked out and immediatly told everything he learned to my mother. She was surprised as well and didn't know what to do.   They finally decided that, along with me, we would all ask the couple to leave this place. That their work in this world was done and that they could be happy together in heaven. That they didn't belonged here anymore. And as hard it may be, after this day, my parents told me I never talked about them ever again. However, no long after turning 6, I began suffering of recurent nightmares. And by this I mean: nightmares always on the same subject, some of them were returning and these happened very often. And I can remember this very well. I was always having nightmares in my childhood, it was horrible. Nightmares about my parents dying, about them disapearing. About my brother, Anthony, who was 3 at the time, also vanishing. I even remember having multiple nightmares in one single night. I would go to bed, fall asleep, do a nightmare and wake up. Then, I would wait a little before falling asleep again, only to have another nightmare. My "record" is 3 nightmares in one night. No need to say, after the third one, I cried quietly in bed, not falling asleep again, waiting for the sun to rise in the sky.   As if it wasn't enough, things got even worst. I remember having that one nightmare. Let me explain you: My chamber had the size of a rectangle. My bed was placed horizontaly in the back of the chamber. To the left, there was a huuuge window. I could stand up where the window started and jump, arms in the air, and I'd never touch the top of it. I had a really great view of what was outside. In this nightmare, everything was way too much realisic: I got up from bed for no obvious reasons. Then I heard a voice, smoothly calling me. I searched in my whole chamber to know where the voice was coming from. Then I looked at the window. The sky was grey outside, and it seemed like it was cold. No wind, no sound. But one thing was confirmed: the voice was coming from outside. As if someone was just behind the window, talking to me. " Quesque tu veux ? " ( " What do you want from me ? " ) I shout to the window. The voice answered me: " Tues-toi. Fais-le. Maintenant. " ( " Kill yourself. Do it. Now. " ). The voice was infinite. Looping and echoing telling me to do so. " J'veux me réveiller ! " ( " I wanna wake up ! " ) I began to shout, crying.   When I woke up, I was even more horrified. I was in front of my window, same weather outside, with sour tears on my cheeks. I looked around me terrified. Scared and confused, I rushed up upstairs, where my parents' room was and I woke them up. When they saw me like this, they asked me what was going on and almost panicked. I explained everything to them and of course, they kept me in med with them, telling me it was okay, that it was gone now. And nightmares stopped.   A year after, my grand-grandmother passed out. I was 7, my brother was 4 and my little sister, Wendy, was only a year old. And guess what ? Nightmares came back. Nightmares about her hunting me, again and again. Appearing everywhere in my dreams. Was her intentions good or bad ? I didn't know. But after all I lived before with spirits and ghosts, it was scaring me a lot. One day I decided to tell my mother, and she told me it was only because I was shocked she was gone, that it would eventually stop. Fortunately, she was right, as I never dreamed to her again.   My life turned out to be kind of calm after that. Except having extreme badluck, everything was going very well and I was enjoying life like I never did before. Unfortunately, that day came. 3 years later, in April 2007, my mother was transferred to the hospital. Why ? I didn't know at the time, as my father would not tell me. [Of course now I am 16 and he decided to tell me not so long ago, but I still won't tell you as it is very personnal. He didn't wait for me to be 16 for nothing.) However, my birthday is on April 26. And well, at this date, she would still be at the hospital. So for my tenth birthday, the hospital accepted to reserve a room to celebrate my birthday with my close family there. After all, 10 years is an important age to celebrate to me. Now I had 2 numbers in my age, just like my parents. I saw my cousins, my aunts, my uncles, etc. Everyone was so happy, we had such a great time.   Then after hours of celebration, everybody had to return home. Something catched my atention: The expressions my uncles, aunts and every adult had when they left. Kids seemed happy but adults seemed sad, as if they were sorry. I began to have doubts. Something was going on. Then when everybody left, only my father and mother, my two brothers and my sister and of course me where still there. Everybody hugged my mother and she told us: " On va se revoir bientôt. " (" We'll see each other very soon. "). There was something. Something in my mother's voice. Sadness ? Hope ? Guilt ? I didn't know. But something was going on for sure. I wasn't that dumb.   Everyone, except my mother, who had to stay at the hospital, got in the car. As soon as my father started the engine, I asked him: " Quesqui s'passe ? " (" What's going on ?"). I guess he read my mind, and I guess I read his too. As if our eyes talked to each other. My father began to cry and told us: " Votre mère ne reviendra pas. Plus jamais. " ( Your mother isn't coming back. Forever. )". My brothers and my sister couldn't understand what was going on, they were only 7 (Anthony), 4 (Wendy) and 1 (Zakary). However, I did. I knew what just happened. My parents decided to break up. And they would never get back together. Everybody started to cry. Except me. I understood they couldn't get along anymore, that they decided to part ways. And it was the right thing to do. How could I blame them ? I would have done the same, even if it meant to make suffer my children. April 26, 2007. They day I turned 10 and the day my life changed completely. I began to ignore homework ar school, to become agressive, to be more of a lone wolf than I was before. Of course I calmed down within a year and came back to my normal self, except for that school part. Since that day I never have been the same at school. No more homework, no more model student. It was about time to change things up.   My life became normal for a long, very long period of time. In fact, in 3 years, from 2007-2010, nothing happened. I didn't have nightmares, I didn't really mind of my parents' situations. I was seeig my mother every once in a while. Then in 2010 she moved to a city very near of here, because she wanted to be closer to us. So she ranted an appartment, nothing really big but there was plenty of space for everyone. She had a laptop, an old one she got from a friend she had. A weekend on two, we'd go to her place and have fun going on the laptop she has, playing Dofus or Adventure Quest Worlds.   It have been the same every year until last year. 2012. I was 15, Anthony 12, Wendy 9 and Zakary 6 now. We grew up a lot since the beginning of this story I must say. Whatever, back to why you're here: Last year, for my French class, I had to write a poem or pick an already existing one and perform it in front of the class to everybody else. And I am a poet. Since I'm 12 I write songs and poems and I enjoy it. I even got a reputation at my Secondary school. A group of girls asked me if I would write something of my own, and I answered them I would. Everybody was looking forward to it. I had a lot of pressure on me. So I was writing my poem the weekends I was at my mother's, on the laptop. It took me three weekends to finally get it done and the result was, to me, very satisfying. And then it happened. I was playing AQ Worlds and the laptop began to be very hot, and do really noisy sounds. I decided to close all browsers and open the task manager. The laptop was running at full memory usage and 100% capacity even though everything was closed and I was on the desktop.   The laptop shutted down. I pressed the Power button.. nothing. I played with the wire, connecting and disconnecting it over and over again.. nothing. So I just left the laptop there, telling everyone it had overheated. A few hours after, I tried to turn it on another time. This time it worked ! Windows was booting and everythig seemed okay. At least that's what I tought. I arrived onthe desktop only to realize there were no more icons on it. No more shortcuts. There was no background image neither, it was only a plain black background. I looked at my Notepad documents: nothing. My poem was gone. And my project for my French class was GONE ! I sighed for almost five seconds and decided to take a look at what hour it was: 3:12 PM. It was dark outside and Zakary and Wendy were already asleep. No way it was only 3:12 PM, it was impossible ! So I checked the date to see if the laptop had gone crazy and yeah, it was. The date was wrong, we were in March and the laptop was set to.. guess what ? April 26, 2007. No jokes, no lies, no BS. April 26, 2007 was the date that appeared. And it is very possible I learned from my father long ago my mother would not come back somewhere around 3:00 PM because the diner was passed and we didn't eat supper yet.   But there was more. Everytime we would shut down the laptop or it would shut down by itself, the date was set back to April 26, 2007. This made my brother Anthony, my mother and me very uncomfortable. As of right now, a year has passed and the laptop just doesn't work anymore. Impossible to turn it on. However, I will remember forever a laptop trolled me hard on something I was weak to: my past.

Call me a dxmn zombie.

This is probably like.. they 3rd time I'm "back" due to the fact I CAN'T do anything ( no PC, no RPG Maker.. ). I'm really deceived.. of myself actually. It's unfortunate how everything always happen when they shouldn't. Horror game projects are down, and I am not writing for any game in development, as far as I know. Well, after a whole month of inactivity, I guess it's kinda normal   However, I am back and I WILL do something. Something I only need a pencil, paper sheets and my imagination to do: writing fantasie stories and horror stories. Might as well write some creepypastas. These always fascinated me. I write them for fun, but I will post 'em in this blog to show them to who may be interested in reading them. I have a lot of imagination so my stories should be pretty good. Isn't the first time I'm doing that either. Well on this forum, it is. But whatever. If anyone would be interested in taking one of my stories and make a game out of it, no problem, I'll be really happy to see my texts can actually be useful in some way.   All I ask is to message me, asking me if you could take ___ text and make a game based on it. Short, long, serious or not, I don't want too much details, but I expect the minimum one should give ( Title, short/long game ). I'll answer you the fastest possible. Also, if you ever need help on how to develop the storyline in the game, it'll be a pleasure to help you. I am currently writing somewhat of a creepypasta at the moment. However, there is no gore or any mention of satan or demonic laughs. Just weird events happening for weird reasons in a weird way. It's already half written and the second half is in my head already decided. Should post it soon.   Hope you guys will gimme a chance. Can't wait to show you what I can do.

About the "Create a Character"

Hi guys and girls I hope you're all doing great ! Summer vacations are almost over and yeah, that su- you know what I mean right ? I gave myself the challenge to make an event-driven only, super-duper-awesome Create a Character. However, I lack of time, and school, at least for me, is returning in my everyday's (except weekends duh !) life.   This Create a Character was supposed to feature more than a thousand possibilities. However, it would have took me at least 10 hours and I do not have all that time to spend on RPGMVX Ace projects. Still, I did a little Create a Character and I personnally think it isn't that bad. PLEASE KEEP READING, here comes the IMPORTANT infos:   I will "release" it in no time. However, please read this, you might be interested: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These character models are modern-based humans. Please note their outfits may not suit ancient or very futuristic game genres.     There are 34 male models and 20 female models.   There are more male models because there is less haircut options for girls (weird, uh ?).     However, if you find this generator lacks of models, you can still add models to this by creating models with the Character Generator. You could add more haircuts for girls or different races than human.     However, please keep in mind that creating many character models can be extremely long. Not only will you need to create them, but you will also need to build the event that will drive the customization.     Here's the deal: If you do add some character cutsomization options, please make the result downloadable. But there's not only that.     Please update it to " Version 1.1 " and add your forum's username below it. In the end, if many people add their own part of customization, this Create A Character will become AWESOME.     You can as well specify, in another text box, what was added with YOUR continuation of the Create a Character.   Imagine the result after a bit of time, if the community unites its efforts to make this Create a Character better ? Wouldn'it it be awesome ? Of course it would !     ** However, if absolutely NOBODY wants to give me a hand with this, I WILL release new updates of it every now and then. It will probably take a lot of time but I can still kind of force myself to work on this. **     Thanks for your support and I hope I gave you the will and desire to continue this Create a Character.   Signed: Jay Heartay

Character Customization is LONG !

Hi guys ! I wonder if you ever had created a ''Create A Character'' system, but if you already did, without using any scripts or stuff, you might know what I am talking about.   Please select your gender: 2 branches Please select your skin tone: 4 branches Please select your eye color: 3 branches Please select your hair length: 4 branches Please select your hair color: 3 branches   Total possibilities: 2x4x3x4x3 = 288 possibilites. This means 288 different sprites and 288 different facesets.   For most RPG games you will also be asked to choose a class. Knowing you can have 4 different classes, it means there are 1152 possibilities. Which means you must create 1152 sprites and 1152 facesets for a total of 2304. Knowing 1 sprite + 1 faceset takes 30 seconds to make, it will take you 34560 seconds. Which means 576 minutes or 9 hours and 36 seconds.   Wanted to make a character customization ? Feel disapointed. However, I have one last thing I'd like to say: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED !   When I will be done with this I will upload it and you will be free to use it if you want to. I'll need support from you guys so please comment below. Jay

Im back + /!\ UPDATES /!\

Hello guys ! Im back after a week or so of inactivity simply because I was pretty much busy outside of this forum ! I finally got a new PC and I will be working on my " A Short Horror Story " project ! So Im coming back to work and it feels GREAT ! I felt disapointed not to be able to do anything, determination and will never went missing. I just couldn't work on them.   REBIRTH ONLINE HALTED ? EDIT: * Confirmed, Rebirth Online scrapped, sorry. * I don't know if you guys knew, but I am writing for a Rebirth Online game and if the news aren't wrong, the project has been halted for some reason. The game seemed great and you guys would have liked the story. What I suggest is to go and support or even help the game's creator: SiIence. Im sure he would appreciate being supported by the community and hopefully this will cheer him up a little ! I think I remember him stating he needed help for the game, so if you got plenty of time, go and help him out. Im doing my best to help him with the story but I guess additionnal help in other sections of the game would be much appreciated ! I hope you guys can do something for him, even if it's a little " Good luck ! " .   As I am the one who got the idea Im going to be first: Silence, your game seemed great and I hope you will continue working on it. Best of luck, ~ Jay ~ !

Done with school !

Hey guys guess whaaaat ? Well, the title says it pretty much: Im finally done with exams ! So I will finally have the time to work on my horror projects and Im suuuper pumped !   However, I had a problem. My PC "passed out" and now I don't have any computer (right now Im on xbox 360's internet browser.. which sucks, I won't lie). So for my "A Short Horror Story" project I guess I'll have to wait. What a perfect timing, uh ? However, I will still be lurking on the forums pretty much everyday If I have the time. 'cause everybody has an IRL life after all. Oh well, nearly everybody, actually. So yeah, I'll still be around but I won't be really "active".   Just a little question: Was the website down yesterday ? Or I was the only one who tried to log on every 10 minutes to see if it the website was back ?   So yeah, I wanted you guys to be updated. Until next time, ~ Jay ~

Suikoden Ace Helper !

Hello guys and welcome back ! Some time ago I took a look to a Suikoden fangame topic and I found the main plot quite interesting and told the creator that if he needed any help I'd be right there, ready to come in handy. And I got an answer yesterday ! He wanted help with the main story, so I analyzed his main plot a couple times and I got a lot of ideas. I sent all of them to him and today I got feedback ! Guess what ?   It was positive feedback ! Im glad he liked my ideas for the story. I also told him I would be ready to help him a little more "in depth" with the game ( dialogues, normal writer stuff ). Waiting for an answer about this tough. I'll keep you guys updated ! The game development isn't started yet which means I'll probably give you news about this every now and then. He needs a spriter so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll tell him !   That's it for now, "stay tuned" for later info about Suikoden Ace ! Until next time, ~ Jay ~

"A Short Horror Story" project !

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I hope you guys know you' ll always be welcome here ! I like to let others know what's on my mind. " Yeah but we don't care ! " So negative. If you don't wanna read this, just don't. However, some of you guys may already know Im currently writing for Rebirth Online and that Im searching for other projects to work on. So to prevent myself from becoming bored to death I tought of a project which I named " A Short Horror Story ". What is it ? Simple: every now and then, I would release an RPGMVX Ace game called " A Short Horror Story: <titlehere> ". I would bring legends, myths and ghost stories to life with the help of RPGMVX Ace. Maybe even adapting urban legends into a short game. Here's a list of games I KNOW I'll do:   The Corriveau. It is a french horror story, based on real events. A young lady ( Lady Corriveau ) killed 7 of her husbands, in different and creative ways. When the police found out she was put into an iron cage which was hanged to a tree. She died because she didn't eat or drink for days and people were throwing rocks at her. It is said that every night, when someone passes where the Corriveau used to be, her spirit awakens and hunts that person. It is also said she mostly haunts men.   Bloody Mary ( The Bloody Queen ). I think I don't have to explain to you guys what's her story. Basically, she was a queen who loved blood. She even took baths in it. She murdered many men and domestics that wouldn't listen to her.It is said that the nursery rhyme " Three blind mice " was inspired from her story: Bloody Mary "cut three men's tails"   Three little piggies. Everybody knows about this. It was once three little piggies whom decided to build their houses. The first one built an much fragile house made in wool. The second one made its house in wood and the third one made its house in bricks. However, an hungry wolf tries to blow their houses away. The wolf succeeds in blowing the wool and wood houses, but cannot blow away the house made of bricks. The wolf then has the brilliant idea to enter the house from the chimney, where he falls into a chauldron full of HOT water then dies.   Ring Around The Rosy. Everyone knows this nursery rhyme. A modified version of this nursery rhyme appeared in Dead Space. It is said this nursery rhyme was inspired by a ravaging disease that caused many deaths years ago.   These being stories, many different versions of them exists. I will try to take the most popular version and turn it into an horror game inspired from it.   This is pretty much everything Im planning right now. If you have a question, suggestions you would like to make or if you simply want to share your toughts on this please leave a comment below !   Until next time, ~ Jay ~

Writer for Rebirth Online !

Hello everyone ! So if you read my last blog entry, you already know I submitted the development and ending of a story to the creator of a game. He/she already had an intro but no ideas to continue so I asked if I could write for him/her and he/she gave me my chance even tough I am a newbie here. It took me a couple hours to write the overall storyline and I submitted the final version to the creator. I waited for his/her answer and guess what ? He/she found the storyline amazing !   This creator is SiIence, which you guys may already have heard about. I will be writing for his/her upcoming game Rebirth Online. As I said earlier, the intro, the main plot and the ending are already set. I promise you one thing: you will LOVE the story, Im sure of that. I can't give you guys more details, sorry ! I guess you will have to wait and see. "Stay tuned" for future story reveals.. maybe ? ~ Jay ~

Potentially my first "job" in writing for the forums !

Hello everyone ! Just a little entry to tell you a very kind person decided to take a chance and choose me to develop its story ! So I wrote about it all day long and ended up with having a pretty interesting storyline. I submitted the story to the game's creator and I am waiting for its answer ! I hope it will be positive ! If I'll need to make some changes to my story I won't mind that much, there is always place to better ideas when reviewing your storyline again with the game creator. I will give you guys more details about it later if I have the creator's permission ! Until then "stay tuned" (even if it doesn't really applies here but nevermind). Good luck to all of you for your upcoming projects !   If you want to, wish me good luck, your support will be much appreciated !   Until next time, ~ Jay ~
