I will be lessening my time making plugins for three valid reasons:
Everything is already made. I mean, if there are systems I can think of, it'd probably be something existing. But if there's a new concept I think I should make, it may come in soon. It's just my 10 hour research period is down to 3 hours.
I will be focusing on finishing my plugin scripting tutorials to help the hopefuls. Throughout, I give this 3 hours as well.
I will be concentrating on learning Chinese Martial Arts, I would also be reading a few sutras that has something to do with Buddhism. So if you're wondering why I don't post plugins here anymore, I am probably somewhere practicing and reading.
My time is limited in Game Development, sadly. Since I pay people making custom resources for me for the game, I need to work as well. My money is limited, so I need to put some extra effort.
It has been a while since I actually want to make a game. I have been investing my time doing plugins for the RPG Maker Engine, but I am thinking of finishing the remaining 10 plugins on my table. This is because I will be concentrating on making games for RPG Maker, instead of making plugins for the engine. I have been doing demos of smaller games, but I never found an idea of what to exactly do as a game.
The novel Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber has peaked my interest. If anyone is not familiar with the Wuxia genre of novels, this might be really new to you. Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber is a novel by Jin Yong / Louis Cha, about the story of Zhang Wuji, and the third of the Condor Trilogy:
I – Legend of the Condor Heroes
II – Return of the Condor Heroes
III – Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber
The game I am thinking of developing is inspired from it, but since the novel has many arcs, I will only be concentrating on some of them. I am planning to do the Zhang Wuji story, until the battle with the Shaolin Monks and Zhou Zhiruo.
The game will be free, and I am thinking of hosting it in some other sites as well, such as Kongregate if possible. I am not yet certain if I will make an Android version that will be available for the Google Playstore. As of the moment, I want to concentrate on building the mechanics before deciding any release matter.
If anyone is interested what the novel is about, you can watch this Karaoke version of the 2009 TV Series, Hua Xia Ying Xong by Deng Chao.
I am just going to inform everyone of you that I will be working on new ideas next year. By new ideas, what have I come up that I will do as plugins anyway?
I have been thinking of doing new things I never did back in Ace, and since everything was already in MV, it was hard for me to think what new stuff can I bring to the community and in RPG Maker that someone may have not worked with before.
Here are the plugins I am working on and will be released on January, respectively, in no particular order.
1. Chapter Select - an ability to select a chapter on your game. The plugin reads saved files, so it kinda has that episodic feel to it. If your games are episodic, this is the perfect plugin for you to select only the chapter you want.
2. Rhythm Mini Game - A rhythm mini game, where you press the buttons on the screen, kinda like Cytus.
3. Rock, Paper and Scissors Mini Game - As the title says, a rock, paper and scissors game.
4. Message Choice Pictures - Uses pictures as choices.
5. Title Designer EX - I have started this project, although I think there were something lacking in it and I want to rewrite my support on this plugin.
6. Ys Action Battle System - An action battle system like the Ys series, where you bump the enemies to damage them. Still thinking for the projectile stuff.
7. Valkyrie Profile HUD - A hud just like Valkyrie Profile.
8. Particle System - A particle system which can be used for all my plugins that has to do with graphics.
9. Menu System Valkyrie - A menu system I designed for RMMV.
10. Menu System Verdandi - Another menu system I am designing for RMMV.
11. Verdandi Card Battle System - A battle system with cards instead of normal battles.
12. SOUL_MV Engine Plus - an engine dedicated to solve most database / utility problems, all for menus, battles, etc.
For the course of this month, I tried to do something meaningful, as I think it is.
I am doing a new CMS for MV...
I also made a few plugins, but I will release them later so I will just tell what they are:
Animated Title Blue Sphere
It's another title screen I want to contribute to the community. What does it look like?
What are its features?
Animated Background (and you can change this to static, which I did)
Four Layer Foreground
Horizontal Style Title Commands
4 Title Commands (with Shutdown Command)
Mouse / Touchpad supported for all buttons and arrows
Aside from that, I will be releasing a plugin called Title Screen Designer EX, which would allow you to design your old title screen to a new desirable one. The plugin is intended for those who want to make their own custom title screen of their own.
Lastly, I am still coding my Tales of Legendia GUI (FULL), means from all GUI look of Tales of Legendia. Here's the one I finished just yet:
That's it for today and have a nice day.
This is only the first of the many.
Well, I have been thinking of making more tutorials like these once I get a new unit, now that I have, they have started. What I want to do is probably to do scripting tutorials of something directly someone wants to know rather than doing the basics of declaring variables, what are classes, etc.
I think one of the main gripes that most RPG Maker users have is that it isn’t easy to make your own custom menu or scene. To be honest, I myself had this gripe back then. You can also see some requests over forums over and over again requesting the same material but no one has yet to provide these script materials for them. I have thought of this project to save their time and their days searching on how to make these and let them design their own with my script engine.

Soul Horizon Battle System Development Log #2 – Multiple Element Skills
This script in development allows you to have multiple element skills. It means when having any certain note tag, the enemies / target of the skill would be able to gain different state effects the skill has to offer. When two or more elements are tagged to the skill, then all those element effects would also be applied.
The release date of this script comes the same time the whole Battle System would be released.
Script Release Date: September 27, 2014
Since its holiday today here, I will be doing all these scripts:
Script to make this holiday:
- Sword Art Online - Hollow Fragment Sub Menu
- Sword Art Online - Guild System
- Sword Art Online - Simple Dueling Battle System v1.0
- Sword Art Online - Infinity Moment / Hollow Fragment Friends System
- Character Lifeline System
- One Soul Battle System
- Corpse Party Save File System
- Evidence Keeping File System
- Custom Defense System
- Lucky Shot System
- Gold and Experience Plus
The ones with bold letters are my priorities and near completion.
Since the past year, I have been planning the doujin games I wanted to create. Some of these are really a plan of mine back before the actual game making process, but because of the work I am receiving and my personal work, I have let it stayed on the note up till now. I scheduled all of these equally, so all of them would be produced chronologically.
These doujin games include:
Mekaku City Actors – Blindfold Gang Tea Party
No Game, No Life – To Disboard!
Kuroko no Basket – Kiseki RPG
Scrapped Princess – Destinies
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Date A Live (Dating Game)
I would also be doing some original games of original stories. The game titles include:
Pandora – Reasoning Battle
So far, these are in line. I might throw in other games and they’re good to be produced, but since they aren’t fully decided yet, I’ll only post the definite ones.
This is to update you of all the script updates, clarifications and answers about the RGSS3 Scripts and which falls to which.
I also added a new section called Original Scripts. These scripts are the ones originally written by me through research and reading. For clarifications, please look into this thread: http://infinitytears.wordpress.com/wall-of-rgss/rgss3/rgss3-original-scripts/
Lastly, I added the Soul Engine Ace thread which shows you all updates of the Soul Engine Ace set of scripts. Thread: http://infinitytears.wordpress.com/wall-of-rgss/rgss3/rgss3-soul-engine-ace/
Script Updates as of this date:
Party Titles Orpheus
Reputation System Orpheus
“I am a big fan of Kuroko no Basket since the first season to the second. I am also currently reading the manga, which I always stop by to read when the new scan is on, or buy the original material as well. I was thinking of making a doujin game of it, and here it is.†– Soulpour777(Janrae Mendoza)
This game would have its demo this August, where you play as Prince Tetsuya, who is going to save Princess Momoi from being kidnapped by the weird monsters. You can also get to play the fire wielder Kagami, the Emperor Akashi, the Copy Swordsman Kise, the Gate Guardian Murasakibara, and the marksman and archer Midorima.
A beta test of the game would be on August 21, while the actual playing of the game for everyone would be around mid-September.
Any reaction? Tell us your comments!
“I have been thinking of this game back then, but never had the chance. This is another fan game for Mekaku City Actors and Kagerou Project. This game involves different mini games and short play of shooting bullets like Touhou…†- Janrae / Soulpour777
The game is mainly inspired by the anime episode where Shintaro, Ene and Kido played shooting monsters. As such, there is also a part of the game where you can shoot enemies and gain scores, set to the higher levels and challenge each character to a match on different games. The single map is also interactive, as you can play different mini games inside it.
No Game No Life!
No Game No Life!
I currently watched No Game No Life, since many of my social networking friends and in real life friends were talking about it. I was intrigued so I watched the whole season within a day. I was hooked at the first episode and had this idea in mind to make some games (or a single compiled game) of NGNL. Of course, this is a fan game, so nothing official or connected to the NGNL franchise. The concept of the whole anime is unique and I find it very interesting if it had a doujin game.
As a developer, I might find time to make some games with this said anime as its inspiration and main point. Here aresome of the mini game concepts I’ve been thinking about when we talk about NGNL:
Rock Paper and Scissors (Janken)
Warbeast Same-Tile Game
Same Figures Game
The concept would be having the gamers play as Sora and Shiro as the “BLANKS†or a person called by Tet as a new player, win your way as a king and wage war games against all the nations, unite them and challenge Tet. There are other few things I want to add, but then again, I’d have to make a good workflow of the game’s whole gameplay.
I am still planning on doing this as to I have still many projects along the way, so it isn’t a front burner. If you think this is an awesome idea, please drop by your comments!
Currently, I have been thinking of making a scripting tutorial posts for RGSS3. This is to somehow, help those who wants to make scripts of their own. My foreword though is that I am not the best scripter there is, so there might be some questions I will not be answering or things I won’t be explaining the best way you can understand, however these tutorials would help you understand scripting.
What to expect:
I will not start the tutorial from the basic to whatever level there is, but simply to post the helpful things that would help you understand a script and make a script. For example, you might be asking the following questions:
How to make my own Window?
How to make my own Scene?
How can I access note tags?
How to play BGM, SE or ME?
How to configure some variables in the script?
I want to make some modifications on the scene battle, how can I do it?
How can I show some animation?
How can I make my own Title Screen like Moghunter’s scripts?
These would mostly be the ones to be covered, so stay tuned!
So apparently, there have been questions from me here's what they are asking:
Since you started making scripts that seemingly inspired from the anime SAO and Log Horizon, will you completely make one engine that is used for making a game out of those scripts?
Probably, I will. To give track to what I already finished:
Sword Art Online Related Scripts:
Last Attack System
Sword Art Online HUD
Currently working on (or at least started)
Sword Art Online Menu
Log Horizon Related Scripts:
Currently working on (or at least started)
If anyone of you has read the light novels or if there is something you know that are not present in my list, please feel free to do so.
A Battle System in the Making
Hello blog readers! Although I know that no one might take a look over this entry, I am meaning to put it out here. From about last year, I was mailing with some great scripters out there...because of them I was able to learn TONS of things in scripting.
Anyways, enough for my introduction. Right now, I am putting out my effort on checking my Kyrie Engine (because it has tons of errors and undisposed sprites, thanks to Galv for letting me know these). I am converting them compatible for my Soul Engine Ace, which, I think it would only be a matter of time before I can finish it.
Now what about the Battle System you say?
I was exchanging mails with Moghunter and I was asking him lately if I can modify XAS for a new version. I'd be adding some other graphical changes and other scripts that would help the battle system to be more refined a bit. I'm also going to add some unique system that might upgrade the original release of the XAS.
Many says that XAS is a harsh battle system since its hard to understand, but if I am able to, then that means my effort of learning has paid off its real price.
So, would you like a new XAS?
To tell you the truth, I am not a good scripter. I always learn from others by asking or by reading some books, journals, watching tutorials and bugging active talented scripters to check or critique my scripts. By that, I seem to have been getting better and better (as I feel it). However, if I may quote Imayoshi Shoichi, "the one who doesn't have his own weapon will never win".
I want my own project or something like that in scripting. So I decided, why not make my own engine?
You know something that affects:
You might say I am a little bit dreamy about this, but I am serious. I just wanted to make something out of my own too, from what I learned from other people. I just want to thank those people and scripters out there who really tries to help me even if, I know they're busy and have their own problems to settle as well.
That being said, I hope I can achieve this. So far, I don't have a name over my own engine yet...so I'll temporarily call it Soul Engine Ace.
