VRG: Next Step in Game Evolution?

Hello Dear Readers,   First off thank you for making my Blog interesting, with such insightful and compelling thoughts. As always, everyone is welcome to speak here and freely address their opinions. Remember, you are the reason I write, this is the virtual slate to write thy words, to voice thou perspective! ( yes, I do talk this way, and no, I am not old ).   So down to business. I have always been a notable talker on various game communities and I enjoy our conversations! So now, simple question, what do you think about virtual reality gaming. It is obvious this is our industry's next step. Is it too soon, will the world enjoy diving their minds into unknown worlds?     Also please know, I am very very passionate about games, I do not under any circumstances believe "games are just games", that phrase people use is invalid. This phrase only applies to board games, video games are much more sophisticated. These are worlds my friends, worlds, living worlds of various cultures, it's no longer just a game. It is life virtualized!

Creativity, Where art thou in Games!

Dear Readers,   I am 26 years old, and have a habit of reading random forums for game communities; I have noticed and heard the voices of gamers out there bashing these so-called "epic" RPGs dished out by the Big Shots at E3.   Game critics dare to call such games "fantastic", "great", "excellent". Yet these Triple A game companies care not for the gamers (their fans) but instead, just themselves. They make half-@#$ games and place that dreadful $60 on their products; how dare they, it's downright insulting!   Why the @#$% am I paying $60 for a game that's only half made! And they dare to place the other half in "DLC", omg and they make us pay for that too! OUTRAGEOUS! I AM LOOKING AT YOOUUU SQAURE ENIX AND CAVIA!! I shouldn't have to buy music as DLC just to change the theme songs and whatnot in some of the menu(s) in Drakengard 3!   AND YOUU!! BETHESDA! HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME PAY FOR DLC FOR SKYRIM!!!   AH but here I go sidetracking the topic, sorry folks!     Anyway, it seems creativity has died for RPGs and even some other genres. What do you guys think?

New Year

Hello Dear Readers,   It's been too late since I last wrote something. I have changed or should I say, I have evolved since our last chat. I've become much more philosophical. I apologize for having taken this long to write something, blame lack of internet. I thank you all for reading and joining in my conversations.   Anyway, I have some new ideas that I plann on putting into the game, surprisingly enough, it's been a few years now since I started developing this game series.I still hope you guys are intertested, I promise I have been working on it every day, pushing it and myself in the process. I won't go into details, and sadly I can not edit my game thread anymore, it's been a year since it became locked. Sorry about that everyone, I hope you'll still play my game whenever it comes out.

TBGC: O Update 1

Hello folks,   It's been awhile since my late blog, sorry about that, been busy. Due to the alpha demo and general feedback, TBGC:O has been in beta. Since the beta phase, TBGC:O has been, dare I say, drasically improved.   I greatly appreciate my team's work and the support of my fans. I'm thinking of releasing the beta demo soon, one last round before the full game that'll show off the new changes. I know a few of my reviewers here in our community couldn't give a full review due to the alpha demo's lack of gameplay, now the beta would have that.   Would you guys like that?   Please keep a eye on my game thread, I've updated very recently, so it'll have new details so look very closely my friends! Thank you and as always, God be with you all always! I do literally pray every day for everyone in the world, particularily on everyone having miracles on our health. Love you guys!   http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/26329-the-blade-goddess-chronicles-origins/

Popularity: Game Titles in Certain Languages

Hello Folks,   NOTE: IF you don't like reading certain tones one's voice carries, don't read this. I do and will speak my mind. Carry salt with you at all times. Enjoy!   It has come to my attention through observation that the probability of a game's success or, in case of advertisements, that depending on what language a game's title is in will likely boost it's popularity. I don't sugar coat my words so I'll speak frank with you.   Let's face the truth, as a game developer, you know coming with with a title, a good title, is essential. A interesting title is practical and you don't really need to be a game developer to know that it's important. It's just common sense, a cliché title is frankly boring. You might as well kick yourself. But there are ways to solve this ( TIPS below ).   Tip 01 - Think of one. ( yes it's obvious, but would you believe me IF I told you people have trouble with this, NO really, look around. ) IF you do this, really sit down and read my guide below.   Tip 02 - Ask a fellow game developer. I do offer help, it goes without saying, I can help you.   Tip 03 - Research. Look at other games BUT DO NOT COPY their title. See how they do it.     Which language(s) boost most popularity. ANSWER - Japanese ( It's really just this).   I'm kinda getting tired of this. Even non-japanese people do this. Frankly it's a cliché. I understand game developers like the language but damn, give it a break. It's ironic enough coming from Japan but now non-japanese game developers too. I bet these game developers named their characters japanese names. As though "my characters are even cooler". Yor characters are suppose to be likeable BY their personality traits, not their names. Do these game developers feel they themselves will have more friends adapting a japanese name as well? You don't see japanese people getting even more friends/popularity by revealing "hey, I'm japanese!", and instantly draw attention of random people like a mob aggroed by a Tank in Final Fantasy XIV. "Sugoi" much? Not "kawaii" thank you. This cliché is as old as 90's clothing. I wonder how japanese people in Japan feel, too much attention.   I like japanese culture enough that I'd be seen as a fellow Otaku, but jeeze I don't japanize everything. Western culture IS just as cool, European too, heck try African or France. A french romance rpg doesn't sound bad at all, at least it isn't caught in as a mainstream cliché. Just for the record, Otaks ARE frown upon IN Japan of all places. No hype there revealing your a Otaku.   There are interesting games here being ignored due to be unjapanized.   SUGGESTION - A game title should give a hint of insight to the concept of your game. I know this is cliché in itself. Try to be creative. The title is the name of your game's soul, treat it well. Take a hour on it.   P.S - This is my opinion, if this offends you, at least try to be open-minded. This is NOT meant to hurt peoples's feelings at all. It's a educational rant.

Thoughts on TBGC:O

Good Afternoon/Morning Community,     So I've decided to enter that Contest, this be me first time lol. Decided the entry/submitted game would be from The Blade Goddess Chronicles. I'm quite excited to be in this Contest, I wish everyone a fun time. As for me, I take it seriously.   I'm hoping the Story does justice in setting up where "Memoirs" takes up. Since the Contest rules say it must be a hour long I gotta fit pieces in what little room I have. On the other hand, I'm kinda relieved it's just a hour long. BUT ironically, despite it being a hour, you'd think it be that much easier making up the Story, but NNNOOO I got writer's block lol. I'm hoping I get creative and figure this out in time.

Update(s)

Hello friends!   Been very busy lol. OMG My Blog has almost 1,000 views!! Kool, thanks! Keep reading.   So I decided due to great feedback that I'll revive TBGC:M from hibernation. From the look of things, The Blade Goddess Chronicles may turn out to be my debut game series. This is due to lack of resources for DDC:PS. Hopefully God will blesd me in the very near future.   I've decided to redevelop TBGC:M. The world map will be designed from scratch, the chapters are being redesigned, and so will the story, though the original concept(s) will stay the same hopefully lol.   Ok drop a comment and thanks!

Me.. a Mapper?

Hello my friends,   Been awhile since my last blog entry lol. Thanks everyone fro reading them ,glad someone reads my nonsense. XD Thanks for the feedback and now I need it again.   So I was browsing through our awesome Forums and found this...   http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/user/3778-omega-zero/   So apparently Omega Zero posted a request for a Mapper. I was comtemplating whether or not to help. I decided "hey why not", at first I looked for positions, I already knew I had experience in "Story/Character Design" or even "Character Concept Art" but at last nothing. I then saw mapping. I was skepticaldue to lack of experience, lack of confidence and maybe the fact I never really seen myself as a Mapper. The first and only time I designed a map from scratch, is my world map for my current project "The Dragon Divine Chronicles: Phoenix Seed " ( LINK BELOW ).   So I decided to show him my mind, well I'm glad he was impressed.   http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/22801-the-dragon-divine-chronicles-phoenix-seed/#entry158353

ShadowSphere's Female Lead Trend

Hello RM VX ACE Community *signs* whew,     This is The Dragon God, aka Dragon, founder of ShadowSphere Entertainment. This is my first entry to this Blog though I have my own. Anyway I have a habit of making my main/lead characters female. So I've noticed this "trend" and want to know what you guys think. I always draw female characters as well.   Should I be like the Big Shots at E3 and make male leads or punch through the mainstream trend and dish out females? XD
