The second one

"My dear diary..."   Today i made good progress with the quick opening cut-scene. Well i should, i'm working for about a week on it. As it seems i will need a couple of days (maybe three) till it's ready.   Oddly, i encountered a new obstacle in my way and the name of it is LAG. I didn't thought to come across that problem so early on, plus i don't really understand why the game lagged. There aren't many characters on screen. I don't have a NASA-PC, but it's powerfull enough to be able to handle that much processing. After all i've played some power-hungry games on that machine without a problem. Anyway, the problem seems to have been caused by an additional sound effect i added for something. I make use of BGS, ME and SE for the particular scene and i wanted to add an BGM as well. Guess what. Not going to happen. At least not that way.   I searched the web and added Theo's Anti-Lag script but i had no success at that either. By counting the fps of the scene it seems that this script doesn't cover the problem i'm facing. So.. i need to solve this problem by other means. What i CAN do, is (and that will be a little painful, regarding time) to take all the background music plus all the sound effects needed for the scene and mix them together as one track. That will work for sure, but it will take me a day back, as i will need to be very precise with this else nothing will be synchronized.   I will take the time needed, no question about that... and that's all!   Nes\201503160306

The very first entry...

So.. first entry. Ok... i guess i'm gonna keep that thing like a 'diary' for myself to watch the progress (i hope progress) i'm making until my project is completed. That seems pretty far away from where i'm standing today, but... well, no but. It is pretty far away. That's the point of this blog anyway, in the future i can watch back and see how it all began, how things changed during development (inevitable) and how it became what it will become... It's gonna be fun!   Some thoughts: There are hell' of a lot of things to do, especially when i decided "First game, big game". I am aware that this is a common mistake people make and that leads to most of the projects to become abandoned/cancelled but i guess i was always that ambitious with things...   I do not know if following a particular order of "to do" things will help, i read the relevant posts about it but until know (still at the VERY beginning) it has occurred, more than once, that i radically change the "thing" i'm currently working on. I may work on a sound program to make/edit on a sound effect or something and then it hits me and i open another program at once and start working on that. Just examples, but it happens, so i'm gonna just 'skip' any particular order as i will anyway not be able to follow such thing.   The Project: Now, for the project itself, as i imagine it, (i have a serious amount of various notes all over my desk about it) it will be an "Science-Fiction Adventure RPG" and will feature turn based battles. That's the best i can think of to describe it. The battles will be intense but not that often, as they will not be the part to focus on. The story is gonna be. The game will heavily rely on it's story and the player's walk; through this adventure. Quiz's will also play a big part in the game plus the ability to reach your goal through different ways.   Ok, that's enough for the first entry. Got work to do... wish me luck!   Nes\201503142115
