Mario Maker VX Ace

Alrighty, this "Mario Maker" got me thinking, do you think RPG Maker VX Ace, can make a Mario-style game? Hear me out on this.

 

For one, I never saw a RPG Maker VX Ace Mario game. So if there is one, I apologize for the inconvenience. And I know the correct term is "Platformer"

 

Now to make it possible, you could create multiple events to activate the "jumping animation" and move the player with the action button.

 

While this might be inefficient, I'm out of ideas.

 

As for moving platforms, make it a 1-tile graphic, but program it to loop its walking animation to the direction you want.

 

Now for the one I didn't break yet, the block breaking, I don't know if the animation could do more than 1 tile, but maybe instead of a bounce the block could slightly expand? I don't know about that.

 

For bosses/enemies (Bowser, the turtle) I'm sure any sprite sheet worthy enough for RPG Maker VX Ace can create boss graphics.

 

That's about it, now how about you guys give me your thoughts on this? I accept any form of feedback.

There is an actual script that mimics that process :3

 

But ofcourse it can be done with eventing ^~^

I get this is RPGMakerVXAce.net, but seriously, if you're going to make a platformer, you're a lot better off with a different engine.

It's not like you don't have options.. Unity2D, Paper2D, GameMaker, Clickteam Fusion, Construct, anything! Unless you have something to prove, don't fight with your engine just because you're afraid to leave your comfort zone.

@Chaosian True , and whats funny is I have tried Unity and Construct and both are suitable for this.I just thought it'd be cool for the engine to have this.
