Blah.

I think it's kind of obvious that even if Hillary ends up winning somehow, the democratic party failed. They failed when they turned their back on Sanders. They failed when they didn't understand the issues. They failed when they sided with wallstreet. They failed when Obama bailed out the banks way back when. They failed. and maybe America has too. No not just America. The whole left spectrum everywhere in the world (except maaaaybe Iceland, and even then they didn't get ahead).

I know why they failed to. Because yeah, they got too greedy. They fed into a broken financial system, tried to tie everything up into a big global market. But globalization failed too. So did wall street. It was obvious it would really. Republicans got greedy too of course. They fed more and more anger and frustration until from out of nowhere they got exactly what they asked for and realized they made a mistake.

To everyone who supported Trump, I get it. Your angry. You want to smash the systems. You know what? I kinda wanted to also. But not by giving into insane bigoted reactionary rhetoric. Well congratulations. Now you are going to have to deal with what happens next. You could have waited to next election when I guarantee this election is going to make some waves. Though if Hillary somehow juuuuts manages to win, that is probably the best case scenario to me. But if Trump wins?

Well we might manage to be okay. I don't hate all Trump's policies. No I am more nervous about his ego and the message it would send to hateful reactionary people. If your going to be mad, be mad. But why Trump? It's just such a horrible idea.

I don't think 5-1 is right. Maybe 2-1? It was obvious to me Hillary was not going to be anything more then a hasty band-aid on an infected puss of a wound. We needed disinfectant. Instead Trump's idea is just to crudely rip the wound open and cut out anything he feels looks bad even if he doesn't have any medical knowledge to actually help.

Lmao! That's quite the analogy. I don't entirely disagree, but I think Clinton would be a decent leader. Strictly on paper, she does have a very good resume for a presidential candidate. Not flawless by any means, but she she knows how to operate in the current political climate. Whether or not she can bring any actual change to the government is something we can only speculate on now and maybe forever. Personally, I don't think she'd be able give us the reform the government desperately needs, but could at the very least continue laying the groundwork for the next President to enact real change. Trump will almost definitely bring change, but I'm pretty certain it will be for the worse.

At the start of the race she was around 5-1. Obviously, it narrowed over time as the race tightened. To be fair, the "experts" were all writing Trump off the moment he announced his candidacy. So yeah, who's countin'?

I never really trust polls. If polls were accurate, Clinton would have won the majority of states and had a landslide victory. She was ahead in at least 2/3 of the states before the early voting started in just about every poll I looked at.

Well, yeah, polls are always a crap shoot. But I do believe most people probably made up their minds months ago and haven't even bothered keeping up with the mudslinging going on in the media. Because most people don't give a crap. It was always sort of obvious to me just because of how far Trump and Sanders already that Hillary was not going to survive long term. I doubt Trump is either, but I was hoping either Hillary would win and we would have someone better then Trump next election (if the republican party didn't just shatter like glass upon his defeat, it still might), or Hillary would succeed and Sanders would succeed in really pushing her and the democratic party into being more progressive. Now though? I figured worst case Trump is gonna be so ineffective and make such a huge mess of things Republicans are gonna shatter anyway, but I am still not so sure I wanna be here. Besides Trump might be more levelheaded then I thought, but I have no idea what he is up to anymore.

@Tarq- I'm all for sciency stuff, but as far as politics goes, I usually don't really care. This last election though... Really, America? Really?

@Killozapit- He plans to invade Fairyland :P

Come on, don't make stuff up. Trump has said before he doesn't want to invade anywhere, he thinks it is a waste of time and money to meddle in world politics and that's one of the things I will agree with him on that. Besides an invasion of fairyland is basically impossible. There basically no entrances big enough to move an army through and the fairies on the other side could just cut them off, not to mention the impracticality of fighting fairies on their home turf in the first place. It would be like the Vietnam war times a million. Imagine fighting in thick forests where even nature and the terrain can turn on you and most of your opponents are invisible, can use insidious long range magic and traps, could probably mind control half your troops anyway, and have absolutely no real apparent central leadership or control.

I was hoping you'd summon another cookie meteor. Trump says a lot of things so we'll see. I'm thinking it's more likely his diarrhea of the mouth will piss someone off enough to declare war on us. If anyone could do it, it'd be Trump. Before you say that can't happen, remember everyone said him winning the nomination couldn't happen. He did. Then they said there's no way he could win the presidency. He did. I'm keeping all possibilities open.

If people aren't already bombing the hell out of North Korea or Russia or even China, I think Trump is safe. Just talking crap isn't a good reason to start declaring war. Also, Trump doesn't deserve a cookie meteor.

Well...I was gonna intercept the cookie and take it for myself =3

It wouldn't be just from talking. More like we do something in our global policy someone else doesn't like ==> diplomacy ==> Trump gets angry/impatient and starts running his mouth ==> talks break down ==> war ==> cookie meteor (come on, pwetty pwease?)

I hope nothing like that happens, but I'm not ruling anything out.

If you want a giant ball of cookies you can just ask without getting me to blow up the world with it. :3

It's not that simple. War is a big messy expensive thing that basically nobody wants anymore. Everyone has weapons that can wipe out everyone else, and it's much easier to threaten and pout about stuff then actually do anything. There are exceptions of course, but most of them are civil wars and local conflicts driven more by instability then actual state-sponsored conflict. War just isn't glamorous or glorious anymore.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying it's plausible for him to ruin a situation that could be settled peacefully and diplomatically. Call it a hypothesis. One I really don't want to see tested.

I've had my fill of gloom and doom talk for a bit. So... what is your stance on kittens? :)
