Forsaken kickstarter in planning

Cait

I have begun to think of my game, now, that my editing project is about finished up. I admit that there is plenty I need that I can not simply do. I thought I might do the kick starter route as my graphics look amazing, but do the video, pixar style and the demo the same way. I would need the following things: scripts, characters (fsm styled), facesets with emotions, busts and music. I will only have so many characters in my game, anyway. My own weak point is video editing, doh! o.o

Positive: my game does use some RTP, but mostly, my own edits. However, I would rather not use copyrighted music, so... I have a lot of work ahead of me. Does anyone know a good place to learn to make videos? I promise to post as soon as I have more information and have it planned out.

Just how much would about six character sets, busts, faces/emotions cost? Or scripts? I have a lot of research to do.

First you need to decide what style you want to work in! Especially with the Character related stuff. some artists can prefer you to know what you want your characters to look like, and would charge you extra if you wanted them to design the characters and how they'd look. etc etc.

Scripting, is opening up another ball of worms :D What scripts would you want done for your project, would you like a Custom Battle system, that can be on average 200US depending on complexity :D

Music, once again, is dependent on what style you are looking for! If you are looking for a particular style, find someone who seems proficient in that style and hire them, because they would most likely charge you less!

o.o Wow! I imagine the type of scripts I would need is a sanity HUD, oil HUD that works with my lighting system (victors) but battle system, I haven't decided upon. A coarpse party like mechanic, a dark descent style or resident evil, or a fourth undiscovered method. Music, atmospheric with sound affects like doors, stepping on floors echoes ... I think there is a pack of music that will work.

Before you go too deep in debt, look around for free scripts or scripts that are at least close to what you want. Making them from scratch may cause them to be buggier and more expensive. Also consider if all of what you are trying to do is possible in RPGMVXA.

For charactors, yeah.. they will have to be all custom made. I recommend you send out messages to people on the resource request board to see what their rates are. Sometimes they are even listed in their shops and no message will be needed.

On a final note, you need a team. If this game is going to be as big a project as what it sounds like, you need others to keep you accountable and on-track.

Yeah, I realize that an ABS isn't suited for RPG Maker and I didn't want the battles to be the whole point. I have looked for those scripts and didn't find what could work, though that might have changed. I might try looking for batteries for flashlight script. I might recruit people, only need a bit more work to have something to show off.

I think I might use the 2d approach, so I guess I would treat it like something scripted. A tv show, only not a story... As I said, I plan on doing some ideas from two big companies: Pixar and Square. If I write something that expresses what the story is about, but not necessarily in the game with some music, I think I could sell this game to the general public. Although, honest I am debating selling it. It would be $5 to $10 bucks.
