I'm looking for side-view battlers of VX/Ace Actors for MV, if they exist.

Finally got some progress done on Kamikakushi 2.0. (Thanks to my GF for helping me fight through depression) So... What did I change? -Revised dialogue - Ramped difficulty for the chase scenes/music box puzzle - temporarily removed the doll puzzle (blame the depression) - added some flashbacks that further explain Hisame and Shin's backstory - replaced face graphics and sprites for Ueno and Yamazawa. - replaced the sprite for short-haired Yasu - added a book in the Omake Room that helps explain some mythos that wasn't clear. ^ attempted to sprite graphics for Hisame in some cutscenes using a base. More to come... - fixed up all of the face graphics - added a bit of developer's foresight in the True End route that some players could abuse in 1.0. Attempting to backtrack after the final chase scene will now net you an INSTANT Bad End. That's how I roll, kiddos. So what's next after Kamikakushi 2.0? Maybe helping my GF with her project? Or maybe I could try working on my other small-scale projects? Who knows.

@Chadzter01 thanks for the critique! yeah... maybe I should just make a fountain from scratch and make a BIG fountain instead! (after I made this new one.. didn't like how it look.. @TsarminaI know!!! It has been AGES!! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN? Did you use the school I made in your game, I wonder? So regarding the fountain... maybe it'll look better if I just make one from scratch? like what you said incorporate the fountain into the wall and make it BIGGER! Or maybe just make a new exterior.. I don't know... (this is what I get for not drawing it on paper THEN make the final design, lol). and about the trees.. yeah, maybe I should play with the hue's just a tad bit to make it more natural looking,.. @Tarqregarding the slightly diagonal pathway I'm actually considering making a slightly straight path (just realized how stupid the character looked when walking through it) so I made some changes to the map! yeah.. best to avoid it as much as possible! thanks for all the critique.. still working on my mapping skills and hopefully get better at it! yeah... deciding to just make a big fountain here instead..

(o_o;) WOW! This thread isn't very active anymore, but I suppose that's to be expected. Anyway, SomaelCK, I love the look of your graphics and maps for your game. I could never create a game like that, but that's namely, because I don't have that much patience. Anyway, I've decided to share my map for my game and I hated how square the dungeons are, loved the way that RPG Maker XP did it. My sister owns the copy of RPG Maker XP, so I have to create walls using VX Ace graphics in the style of XP. I love the way it looks, but I thought I'd get feed back, and I am going to create a bridge for the caverns, not today, though.

After like a solid two hours of testing things different ideas.. I think I finally figured a good method out. I'm using GIMP, so keep that in mind, this may be a different process if you're using another program. 1. Create a layer above your other layers and make it black with roughly 65 opacity. This will darken the map. 2. Create a layer mask ON your new shadow layer and select the "layer's alpha channel" option. 3. Copy/paste the window tile onto your regular window, then flip your new one 180 degrees. 4. Adjust the layer mask using the Perspective Tool, and then apply Invert to the layer mask (or vice-versa). Sorry if it didn't make a ton of sense, I'm super tired but wanted to figure this out. I saved a picture to hopefully show off what I mean to explain a little better, it's far from polished since I threw it together very briefly.

If you understand how to do parallax mapping then it should be fairly easy to do what I was suggesting. I'm by no means an expert (I only just learned recently), but I'll put a bit more detail into explaining: Edit: I wouldn't bother with tint screen, there's a scripted event you can use to make a map dark. I'm assuming you can modify it to your needs, but it works quite well with the light sources provided in the script. Edit 2: Alternatively you can just use a parallax image as a map overlay shadow if you really need to, it gives you some freedom to edit with more detail.
