    Colours

    Everyone knows that different colours mean different things. Even if you know of something as simple as Pokemon, you have certain colours associated with certain things. In magic, this holds true and is actually very important. Today, I would like to explain the colours and associations in regards to magic. Colours are used in various ceremonies, holidays, altars, spells, and more. Some choose to wear certain colours to help whatever they are working on, or to help them feel a certain way, or accomplish a certain goal. They have always had certain connotations and, without realizing it, many subconsciously go along with it without realizing why. Putting on red lipstick to up one's sex appeal, for instance, or painting a room yellow (or filling it with yellow decor) to feel happier. The truth is, everything has energy. Colours have energies that people have picked up on and have thus grown to associate them with. Many people even pick a favourite colour based solely or partially on how that colour makes them feel, and not simply on how it looks! ----------------------- RED: Red is a high-energy colour. It's frequently associated with strong emotions (love, lust, anger, eating too much hot sauce, etc.). In magic, it's frequently used in regards to much the same types of things. Love, conflict, anger, etc. However, if you're having a problem with too much hot sauce, eat a banana, drink some milk, and tone down how much you use next time. Planet: Mars Zodiac: Aries, Scorpio Chakra: Root Element: Fire ORANGE: Orange is primarily used for creativity, courage, justice, joy, opportunity, and even legal matters. Planet: Sun Zodiac: Leo, Sagittarius Chakra: Sacral Element: Fire YELLOW: Doesn't this colour just make you happy inside? Yellow is used for happiness, optimism, intellect and energy - particularly a more masculine energy. Also, if you need help with physical travel, this is your colour. Planet: Mercury Zodiac: Taurus, Libra Chakra: Solar-Plexus Element: Air GREEN: Wealth, abundance, prosperity, growth, fertility, and energy - particularly a more feminine energy. Planet: Venus, Mercury Zodiac: Aquarius, Cancer Chakra: Heart Element: Earth BLUE: Communication, intuition, the subconscious, emotions, winning court cases and intellect. Planet: Jupiter, Moon, Neptune, Mercury, Uranus Zodiac: Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces Chakra: Throat Element: Water PINK: Romantic love, self care, emotional healing, friendship, and self love. It's similar to red, but a lot calmer. Planet: Venus Zodiac: Libra Chakra: N/A Element: N/A PURPLE: Spirituality, psychic abilities, hidden knowledge, and wisdom. Planet: Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter Zodiac: Sagittarius, Gemini, Capricorn Chakra: Crown Element: N/A BLACK: Protection, combating negativity, banishing negativity, and binding. It has an association with death and endings, but it is not an evil colour in the least. In fact, there is no such thing as an evil colour. Planet: Saturn Zodiac: Capricorn, Scorpio Chakra: N/A Element: N/A WHITE: Purity and peace. Here's the thing though - this can be used as a placeholder or any other colour! Planet: Moon Zodiac: Pisces Chakra: Crown Element: N/A SILVER: Dreams, intuition, lunar energy, and femininity. Planet: Moon Zodiac: N/A Chakra: N/A Element: N/A GOLD: Power, ego, courage, success, popularity, fame, solar energy, and masculinity. Planet: Sun Zodiac: N/A Chakra: N/A Element: N/A

    @usertag needs work

    I've seen this lots and lots of times where @usertags do not automatically convert to the chosen usertag, and then there are times when typing out a usertag, it'll refuse to pull a drop down list of users, making the usertag completely broken unless one refreshes the page, WCS (worst case scenario). This quite simply just needs to be fixed. A bug like this should not exist. By the way, having to refresh the page to temporarily avert a bug, is just bad, period.

    Technically it's a bit more complex then that because of the way D&D uses multiple dice. Dice rolls in D&D and other such games are usually notated in XdY form, where x is the number of die and y is the max value of the die. Maybe this might help: class Game_Battler < Game_BattlerBase def dice(num, max) result = 0 num.times do result += 1+rand(max) end return result end end if you add that as a script then you can put "a.dice(X, Y)" to roll XdY dice. If I wanted to get fancy, I could probobly make something that uses string replacement to translate dice notation into a function call or something. Of course this ignores things like 'advantage' right now, but it's possible to do. You can add stuff to dice rolls so 'a.dice(2, 4)+2' or 'a.dice(1, 20)+a.agi' will work.

    @usertag needs work

    It surely needs some work indeed. The emoticon list similarly refuses to pop out at some point, also completely blocking arrow keys (making you unable to move text cursor with these) when that happens. This issue is frustrating, to say at least, but sadly this is something the software devs should look into. That is, it's not something I broke. :c I only hope, that they'll eventually fix it in the future updates, but I guess it won't hurt to start preparing some pitchforks and torches, just in case.

    One thing you'll wanna consider is the damage formula. I'm not well-experienced with D&D, but emulating the dice is semi-simple with a (1+rand(number)) in the damage formula. The 1+ is there because rand(number) returns a value between zero and the number minus one, or a range of the number specified (i.e. rand(3) would be zero to two). Addendum: If you wanted multiple dice rolls, without using @Kayzee's scriptlet below, it would require the use of multiple (1+rand(num)) in the damage formula, and there is limited space in the damage formula for this stuff... If you're looking to have specific weapons use formulas, there's one script I know of that does it. Otherwise, the damage formulas are items and skills only.

    Well, I’m up to 1,960 tracks…it’s hard to believe…I might actually reach 2,000 by the end of the year! Anyhow, I just wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to those of you who have showed your support for my work and my website…your contributions have allowed me to make my monthly payments on my synths. They are all top-of-the-line instruments and I think it’s reflected in the quality of the sound they put out. The whole point of my soundimage project was to make good-sounding music available to anyone regardless of their budget…and it’s definitely working thanks to you! I’ve been spending time learning my newest synth which will enable me to create tracks in genres that I haven’t done before. I’ll let you know as I open new pages on my site to release them. In the meantime, here’s what’s new this week: A brand new music track on my Action 3 page: FUNKY RUNNIN’ – (Looping) – Maybe for a funky endless runner game? https://soundimage.org/action-3/ Some cool electronic sound fx on my new SFX – Electronic page: ELECTRONIC STATIC and TELEPHONE STATIC – Perhaps for situations where communications have been knocked out. (They actually sound pretty cool.) https://soundimage.org/sfx-electronic/ On my SFX – Creepy page: EERIE INDUSTRIAL DRONE – (to add to my other creepy drones.) https://soundimage.org/sfx-creepy/ And on my SFX – Environments page: UNDERWATER RUMBLE – Maybe for deep sea environments? https://soundimage.org/sfx-environments/ Have a great week!

    Eh personally I am not a fan of ABS scripts, they all feel rather clunkly to me. Though the tool system might be helpful yeah. I think there are other scripts that might do a better job at tools, but I am not sure. Also, if you are a fan of really old school D&D, you might like Dungeon Craft. It's basically a modern open source version of Forgotten Realms: Unlimited Adventures, which was a construction kit to make games in the style of some of the official AD&D PC games. Probably not at all the kind of thing you are looking for, but I thought I would mention it just because Unlimited Adventures has a kind of special place in my heart. I think it was the first RPG creation tool I ever used!

    You're going to need to do several things. First choose which version of D&D you want to work from. I'm assuming either the latest, or the one you are campaigning with at present. Then decide what you want your game to look and flow like, because as Kayzee mentioned, you will have to make some compromises when adapting D&D concepts to RPG Maker. Then identify what those requirements are so that we can better help assist you. I would recommend using refrences from D&D as a base, then give the classes your own personal touch as you adapt them into RPG Maker. I'm not a D&D guy, but from what I understand the great thing about D&D classing is that it's just a guideline that still allows the player to customize, characterize and create a unique person. Something you'll want to look at (if you aren't already aware of it) is Falcao's Pearl ABS. https://www.rpgmakercentral.com/topic/8809-falcao-pearl-abs-liquid-v3-update/ Not only does it give you a beautiful live action battle system (Zelda-style), but it has a powerful tool system script that lets you create your own tools such as bows, boomerangs, grappling hooks, bombs, lockpicks, Trap tools, basically anything you can dream up and put together.

    Well, D&D has a much different kind of 'ruleset' then VX Ace does. I mean, RPG Maker doesn't really have a concept like feats or the kinds of skills a rogue is likely to use. You might be able to find scripts for some things like that, but a one to one translation of the D&D rules to RPG Maker would be a lot of work I think. Plus their are slightly different rules depending on the addition of D&D you are using.

    I'm not, but my boyfriend is. Having said that, I'm not American either, even if I do live here. Hilariously enough, considering our annual Halloween costumes, I'm actually Norwegian!

    Colours

    Silver is probobly my favorite color, but gold is kinda up there too. Though I mostly like gold cause it's the color of shiny treasure! Honestly though, I wouldn't use the word 'energy' in that context. It's kind of overused and vague. I would probobly use the word 'mana' instead. I know when people hear mana they often think of magic points form a game, but mana is actually a pretty cool word with a special subtle meaning. It's basically a special kind of power born of respect and reverence. Personally I rather use a more old englishy word for it though. All due respect to the Polynesian people of course, I just think old englishy words are more fairy-like. One word that might work is 'wald'. It's a nice fairy-like word for it because it means both 'forest' and 'power/dominion'. Another word I like is 'dwim' which is kind of a made up singular shorting of 'dwimmer', and also sounds a lot like 'vim'. Also, I spot a u! Are you British? Or maybe Canadian, I donno if they do that too. I live in America myself, when I am not hanging in fairyland anyway. :3
