I'm going to create a game and want to know what you guys want :D

I personally like linear games, but others like side quests. Let me simplify it for ya. Make the game you want to play and hope others will too. Your first title isn't going to be a commercial blockbuster hit. -

The white border around your scroll is ugly and distracting. I really hope you go in pixel by pixel and remove the bad cutting lol. -

@JDubs. I'll pm you a map I just made, for a tavern, maybe it'll give you some insight on some irregularity. -

I always find it hard to take a character seriously, when they say something mean / rude / less than happy happy go go, yet their portrait has a big smile. If you're not Kefka, it's hard to take it serious. AS for the actual mapping, just remember symmetry isn't always your friend. You've got an entire wall of drawers, two symmetrical tables, and nothing else. Could really use some spice, don'tcha think? -
Cool tutorial, I personally don't think any shop should sell that many items though, lol. But to each their own. May be a good idea to make it so if the player presses B/Esc on the stats display screen that it doesn't take them to the other screens. That way they don't need to go through 3 screens if they decide they don't want the item after checking it's stats.

I've never been one for putting irons without a forge, just doesn't make sense to me. What will a weapons trader do in a frozen environment with no fire with some iron bars? Speaking of which, why don't you put a campfire in there or something? Make it a bit more cosey, if the man just sits there forever, he probably wishes he had some sort of heat source, no? @Kilo I can really only say two things, i hate the minimap, and I feel using the shadow pen on maps that have limited vision is silly. The entire map is shadow, where does the light come from that casts a shadow completely different than everything else? Oh nevermind, one more thing. In screenshot #3, did you take your map into photoshop and paint it with a lime green brush? Looks so weird and unnatural, the color. @Snake Using a bland sunlight overlay adds nothing to your map. It's honestly just lazy in my opinion. Putting down specific shadows or specific sources of light on the other hand, isn't. -

This is unique, I like it. It's been a while since i've seen something 'new'. -
In defense of new, and less new builders, and usage of the RTP.

Welcome to the community. 'And then a passionate member of this artistic community of creative people flew off the handle and absolutely erupted, and put so many words in my mouth that I had a hard time eating my triscuits and cheddar. My response was twofold. On one hand “whoooaaaa take it easy, I'm outta here†was at the forefront, but it also showed an underlying care for each other within the community that I cannot help but find heartwarming. It is that second impression that has me posting today, after a night's sleep.' That right there makes your post not worth discussing, really. It's merely a reaction of yours to a single member / a few members, and as such, should be kept in the original thread, nobody needs to discuss how person A reacted to whiner B. -

I like this. Nice script Galv.

Why does it take so long for the screen to fade in to the start of the game? And then it takes quite a while for the battle system to respond to your input. Like when you change the formation, it's a few seconds. Is this intended? Because it's noticeable.

|Your stuff isn't so bad, some pieces are good, for sure. Although most of your tracks are minimal, and i'm not too much of a fan of the "Video Game Music" style where you produce music that should sound like real musical instruments, but don't.

If you go up to a scripter and say "Hey, I'm looking for a script that does -this-, -this-, -this- and -that-. Can you do it for me?" then I think 100% he should be charged for it. You are making a scripter go out of his way to use his time on your request. What if you ask for something stupidly simple? Should he HAVE to give it to you free? Why? Because it's simple? You think just because he only used 30 minutes it's still not worth taxing? That's bullshit. Same goes with someone who creates a script and tries to sell it for like a few bucks. If you go on freelancer websites you'll see people charge anywhere between 40 and 75$/hr to do coding work, so why on earth would someone selling a simple script for like 5$ be 'Downright Appalling' ? I think the nerve of the morons saying someone's time should be worth nothing is appalling.

Most people who have finished games in XP would actually say that the flexibility of XP outweighs the few added gadgets and gimmicks of VXA. Welcome.
