And it took a turn for the worse! I had to "Old Yeller" my old laptop. Years of work with RPG Maker & SMBX down the drain. Everything that meant anything to me was on that hard drive. I am now officially dead inside. I managed to salvage the hard drive, heard you can make them into external hard drives & can retrieve the files on them, if the hard drive isn't too damaged.

It's a real shame that the 'Ultimate Icon Set' is included. You almost didn't need anything else with all it had to offer, but it was also an unorganized mess as well, to the point where I originally planned to clean it up, add recolors & call it 'Ultimate Icon Set 2.0'. But when I went to look for it, it was gone. Now we all know why. Also, you never have to worry about DLCs being plagiarized. I'm sure those submitted works are checked first before being put up on the store, lest Degica Komodo risk being an even bigger embarrassment than they already are. 

MZ brings back XP's multi-layered mapping system if that's important to you. If you're going by plugin library, MV has the biggest & most diverse, but MZ is a slight improvement over MV, it just needs to catch up to the plugin library. Yanfly's old MV plugins are being transferred from MV with newer features & compressed into hybrid plugins.

However, if skill animations are something you want to get in to, MZ requires you to use a 3rd party program called Effekseer though.

Also, there was controversy over Yanfly's plugins being plagiarized & him hiding all his MV plugins behind a paywall. Although Yanfly officially retired from making plugins, he's now taken the mantle of a team leader helping a team of plugin writers write new plugins for MZ called VisuStella. Another controversy stirred up when they decided to obfuscate their code, preventing anyone from even looking at it. It was enacted as a anti-plagiarism measure, but it also prevents other plugin writers from making compatibility patches or personal edits outside customizable parameters.

There's a new version of RPG Maker called MZ. They've added a few new features like XP's layered mapping, but they also swapped out the old animation system for a new particle based one, but you have to use an external program called Effekseer in order to make any yourself. There's so much more they could have done but didn't, so a lot of users were pretty pessimistic about it (and rightfully so).

I don't know where you got that idea at but you're wrong. Like I said, I've been using this service myself for about 10 years now & I've never had to pay a dime.

I would recommend Outlook which is what I use, unless it bothers you that it's owned by Microsoft.

Died at 65 due to cancer. Damn cancer sucks. My mom was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I know those jackass rich elites found a cure for it already but are hoarding it to themselves & only letting people with ridiculous amounts of money get it. God I wish it was possible to download more RAM. I've been stuck with 6 GB for a while now & my laptop can't multi-task for shit at 6 GB. Need at least 16 or 32 GB to stop the lag.

You can use any tile for event graphics already except for A Tiles (Auto Tiles)

I'm not familiar with exactly how XP's mapping worked since I never used it, but from what everybody is saying, it's either similar or exactly the same. You can apparently control which layer to add tiles to.

On rpgmakerweb, about 40-50% are excited about it but at least 50-60% of people are disappointed with the lack of any real improvement over what MV is. Just got done reading over the 4th preview & a lot of coders are in arguments about MZ being advertised to be programmed in JS ES6 but still mostly ES5 (which some are saying is already obsolete). Of course I can't switch to it anytime soon not only due to a lack of money but also it requires Windows 8.1 minimum which means I need to upgrade my setup before I mess with it. Hopefully by that time all the bugs are worked out & a vast library of decent or awesome plugins are made to keep old features and add new ones as well.

@The_Akumatizer That's assuming all those plugins actually work properly & whether or not the RM Engine or device playing the game can handle all that properly without lagging to death or crashing. Plugins are so unstable these days that they're starting to become unreliable. And if any of Yanfly's plugins gives you trouble, good luck finding someone who can figure it out without asking for the entire list of plugins you're using & making you do the whole new project testing just to see which plugins are conflicting with one another.

@Anomaly You mentioned a remake of it. Were you planning to do a remake of MQ or are you referring to the one made by Jake Jackson a.k.a Dark Design Games, a.k.a The lying con-artist scumbag who made a fan remake of it only to get greedy by trying to sell it & lying to everybody saying that he got the endorsement from Square Enix (Europe) when he didn't & took a lot of money from people & never paid it back. Because of him, RM got a bad rep for making remakes & fan games & FFMQ can't be mentioned in the RM Community without reminding everyone about that incident.

I remember that game. It was pretty good. The only 2 things I didn't like about it were that all the npcs looked the same as if made from the same template (although I believe there's an in-game explanation for that), and the fact that the difficulty spiked too much when fighting a 'certain pair of royal bosses'. They were WAY too difficult unless you grinded for an hour or more. I heard that the version I played was eventually updated & fixed that problem.

You should try to find a Speech to Text program along with a cheap mic, or another keyboard if that's cheaper.

As for the blame game, think of it this way. What if someone close to you was murdered? Wouldn't you want to know who was responsible for it? Even if you can't do something about it, knowing who it was & knowing that justice was brought down upon them gives CLOSURE. We need closure for this pandemic. We got reminded that China & Communism can never be trusted. They have always been the enemy, not just against the US, but all of humanity.

THC hits harder when digested compared to inhaling. If you listen to podcasts from Joe Rogan, he talks about it a lot. I learned that lesson the hard way myself, and I have a brain chemical imbalance that doesn't get along with THC too well. Now I know what 'Mental Hell' really feels like.
