  2. I need a plugin that displays skill animations when used by enemies in front view battles as this is not possible by default.

  4. I'm using Yanfly's Equip Core to allow multiple accessory slots. I have some 'Cursed' accessories that would lock their slot so you can't remove them normally. However, when I used the standard Lock Equip/Seal Equip traits, a single cursed accessory would actually lock ALL accessory slots instead of just its own. I guess I need a plugin to keep this from happening. It just needs to be compatible with Yanfly's Equip Core.

    Whoops! Forgot to mention that this was resolved already. Magnus0808 provided me with a plugin here: Multiple Accessories Plugin (3rd post) It handles cursed accessories well & optimization too. Also doesn't suffer from Yanfly's Equip Core's bug which can sometimes strip an actor of all their equipment without warning.

  7. I should point out that in front-view, when an enemy uses a skill that targets you, it doesn't play the animation because you are not on the screen. I need a plugin that will play the animation anyway & lets you control the alignment of the animation (centered, bottom of screen, etc.) I tried Yanfly's Battle Status Window which would allow this, but it doesn't work well for parties of 1 actor.

    Mini Game Scripts: The Shortage, and Why

    I remember trying to make mini-games like Chess & card games like Blackjack or Poker with VX Ace. Chess was extremely difficult to set up. It looked cool when you set up the map like a chessboard with a border around it, but getting it to function (including conditional checks based on event position, piece type for attack directions, etc) was a nightmare that I barely scratched before giving up. I didn't even get close to coming up with a advanced AI to play against. I actually tried making playing card images with RPG Maker themed suits; Spades=Swords, Clubs=Shields, Diamonds=Magic Staves & Hearts=Potions. Used Royalty NPCs for J, Q & K, and a clown for Jokers. I never could get around finishing the set, but I may try again with MV (especially with higher resolutions for better looking cards). I came up with a set of switches & variables to keep track of the deck & players hands. But I never did finish working it all out. I'll give props to Raizen for coming up with a VX Ace version of FF8's Triple Triad. I never expected someone to pull that off! Galv also came up with some mini-game scripts/plugins too, like that vertical shooter game or fishing mini-game. Morale of the story: Good mini-game events/scripts/plugins are difficult to make so be grateful when people make them.

    Seeking Co(s) & Team: Any Given Day

    Have you ever played or heard of Rogue Legacy? In that game you play a knight who enters a castle to find treasure & hunt down monsters in a quest to strike down a traitor who slew the previous king. The game's difficulty is set so that its nearly impossible to complete a full run of the game on the 1st try. When you die, that character is dead & the next one you play is from 1 of 3 descendants, implying that each time you die, a whole generation goes by before another descendant shows up to try. In that game, there is no permanent character. If it worked for that game it can certainly work for yours (unless there's some plot/story element that requires a main character).
  10. Just got back from the store having chest pains, trouble breathing, panicking & heading to the hospital. If I die from a heart attack I just to say thank you to the RPG Maker community for all its done to help me pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a game designer, event though I never got to produce something to be proud of.

      A lot of people tend to believe that Anxiety disorders are fake and people should just 'suck it up'...

      I know someone who died from anxiety attack complications, likely the culprits are the idiots who claim that mental illnesses are created by individuals who want this so-called 'free pass' thing that doesn't really exist.


      I'm just glad you're on the mend, or seem to be.

      That's disheartening to hear. I hope my primary doctor doesn't pull that crap with me. This is anything but a free pass. My depression took a turn for the worse earlier. I couldn't feel anything in regards to feeling happy or even mentally normal. It was so bad that I sharpened my knife & started cutting my arms (they're just scratches). I finally snapped out of it (not by my free will). If my mental health continues to diminish further I may not be around for much longer.

      I don't think most people realize there is a difference between, say, feeling sad and being clinically depressed. Clinical depression isn't just feeling bad, it's more or less being completely unable to feel anything but bad because your ability to feel anything but bad is broken. I honestly think the reason people say things about how you should 'suck it up'  don't what to admit that is possible, because it's just that damn terrifying of a concept. Heck so many people suffering form problems like that don't want to admit that's whats happening either and never ask for the help they need.


      Are there people who try and fake it to get a 'free pass' of some sort? Of course there are. But the blunt truth is that human beings are beautiful chaotic machines the same as anything else. They can be buggy and problem prone, they can get malware and viruses, and sometimes they unexpectedly crash. Sometimes they need help, and that's okay. It isn't their fault. And if they look I am sure there are people somewhere who can help, if only a little bit.


      I donno if saying all that will help or hurt, but I think it helps me sometimes to remember that when I seem like I am falling in a dark abyss with no escape, it's probably a glitch. That I might just not be seeing what's really there. That there is probobly is a way out I am not seeing. And that doesn't solve the problem, but it always keeps me from thinking of doing something I may regret on impulse.

  12. I need a plugin that allows multiple accessories instead of just 1 by default. Not only does it need to allow multiple accessories but to be able to restrict multiple copies of the same accessory. The multiple accessory slots need to be considered as the same equipment type so that any accessory can be equipped into any slot. It also needs to allow 'Cursed' accessories that lock only their own slot & not all of them. If anyone can point me to a plugin that does this already or can provide a new one I would appreciate it. Also, don't suggest Yanfly's Equip Core, because its flawed hence the reason I'm asking for a new one. Edit: NVM, someone made a plugin for me so this is solved.

    Using TP as a third vital meter...

    I know Xenosaga 3 did this with a 'Break Limit', where the meter fills up each time you're hit. If the meter fills to full, your character becomes crippled for a few turns (Can't act & is more susceptible to critical hits). Of course this applies to enemies as well & some attacks specialize in doing Break Damage over regular damage. You can also use items to recover the Break Limit as well.
  15. Back before my laptop was put out of commission, RPG Maker MV had no problem detecting my XBox 360 Controller. But now that my laptop is fixed, MV won't respond to my controller. There haven't been any changes to MV since I keep it on my flash drive, so it was unaffected. But my laptop's HD was dead & now I have to rebuild from scratch. Aside from certain other games not working because I'm lacking in certain Installs & Updates, like DirectX & stuff, I'm wondering what dependencies MV needs to be able to detect & respond to a XBox 360 controller. Mind you that its not the controller itself since my laptop detects it perfectly & other games respond to it, its just MV won't detect it.
  16. Problem solved. Turns out my DirectX files needed to be updated for MV to detect the controller. Weird.

  18. My laptop is out of commission again, so I'm on hiatus for probably several months to a year, however long it takes to save up the table-scraps of money (no income) to fix or replace it.

  19. I'm using Yanfly's Equip Core to allow multiple accessories to be equipped. There's an option in the plugin to make certain equipment slots be unaffected by the Optimize option, but even if I set all my accessory slot to be unaffected, Optimize still removes ALL accessories, even though equipping them increases stats, on top of supposedly being exempt. This didn't seem to be a problem in the past but started noticing it recently. I can't imagine any new plugins that I've added (if any) that would cause this. If anybody knows what causes this I'd appreciate any help.
