    Quiz decides party

First of all, you need to make a draft of the questions and the answers, which can be done easily by using RPG Maker's built-in "Show Choices" function. For example: 1. What do you like to do on your holiday? -- Stay home and sleep -- Go out and play soccer -- Work part-time -- Play with pets and animals 2. Which of the following is the most important thing in your opinion? -- Being surrounded by friends -- Having a stable job and income rate -- Being the best at what I do -- My privacy Now, each of these answers will determine specific 'values' you're going to take into the account to determine the starter digimon, something like "Stoic", "Kind", "Energetic", "Deligent", or whatever stats you want to use to determine the end result. These values will be store into the different 'variable' using the control variable function of the program. In this case, I input the value based on each answers I have drafted. 1. What do you like to do on your holiday? -- Stay home and sleep = +1 [Stoic] -- Go out and play soccer = +1 [Energetic] -- Work part-time = +1 [Diligent] -- Play with pets and animals = +1 [Kind] 2. Which of the following is the most important thing in your opinion? -- Being surrounded by friends = +1 [Kind] -- Having a stable job and income rate = +1 [Diligent] -- Being the best at what I do = +1 [Energetic] -- My privacy = +1 [Stoic] Determine your end result with the possible 8 combination of variables you can make from the two questions, and use the answers to create your starter digimon. The end result can be stored with either a switch or a another variable for the reference for other time you need. For example 2 Stoic - Shutinmon 2 Energetic - Acemon 2 Kind - Fluttermon 2 Diligent - Workermon 1 Stoic, 1 Energetic = Balancimon 1 Stoic, 1 Kind = Coolmon 1 Stoic, 1 Diligent = Iromon 1 Energetic, 1 Kind = Nursamon 1 Energetic, 1 Diligent = Trainemon 1 Kind, 1 Diligent = Majormon You can edit and expand your questionnaire the way you want. This system is rather easy to be done, but you need to be reminded that you need to be careful with your variables and limit yourself to the numbers you are comfortable with. The more combination of questions, answers, and values you make, the bigger the combination sets that determine your results. You need to have good memory to remember your combination, so that you don't get lost yourself during the process. Hope this helps.

    Multiple Endings

A recurring idea of multiple endings in my mind is the one with a paired couple. One of my current projects has multiple love interest whichs, after building up certain relation point with a certain woman, will "fix" the ending, leading the player to different story paths that deal with different people doing different things in a similar fashion how visual novel games play. For example, when the protagonist start dating with Woman A, he will continue working with her in the same guild, but if he dates Woman B, he will quit his guild and becomes a royal guard to protect her, etc, This, of course, would change how at least half of the story is played out, and the player will end up in a different ending depending on the soul mate. Nevetherless, I absolutely hate pointless and bad endings, so there won't be such things as the hero going crazy and ending the world. At the most, it will be different final dungeons and bosses. At the least, different women will help the hero fight the final boss.

How Do You Like Healing Handled in RPGs?

Fixed amounts. I never like the gummy idea in Tales of games. Expensive and rare 60% healing is one thing, having to spam Apple and Orange Gummies in a boss fight and hope not to die is another. Beside, fixed amount is easier in term of in-game financial advancement. Surely, Potions are designed to be affordable during the beginning of the game while it heals reasonable amount of health. As the player advances, Hi-Potions and X-Potions degrade from rare drops to normal items as actors grow stronger, need better healing source, and, most importantly, have more money to manage. Healing spells are still great, of course, but reasonable potion scaling can keep the game not being too frustrating when a healer accidentally runs out of MP, or dies. if anything, it also opens up a gameplay style where a player doesn't use a healer at all.

    Favorite Party Size?

I'm here to ask two questions. Both involve numbers of member in your typical JRPG party. First question is about the size of the active party. Many games have various sizes of active team you can put into a single battlle, like Final Fantasy 6 has the four-man party, Final Fantasy 8 is only three-man, while Suikoden goes out with the wallop six-man. If we're not going to talk about balance, which size is the favorite to you? The second question regard the total numbers of member you can have in game. Some games stick with only three or four people from the start toward the endgame, allowing you to put a lot of focuses on the characters, while others like FF6 and FF4 After Years have load of characters and varities you can choose from, letting you mix and match your best team. What do you think?

    Hello.

My name is ArekPowalan, or manat31790. I would like to make an introduction before a proper usage of this forum. I'm twenty two years old and I'm a man. I'm interested in writing game's story, plot, and character. I also spends some free time editting sprites for RPG Maker. Nice to meet you.
