  1. I was kinda disheartened when I was looking for some female soldiers and commanders graphics. Most of the RTP style things out there (save for personal characters made for people's specific games) are your stereotypical women graphics. Decided to make/edit some myself! All are edited forms of the base RTP graphics. Edit: Made some battlers to go along with the pics. They're based off the VX battlers. Edit: Made a few more faces. No character sprites attached to this, you'll have to make your own. I made little stories attached to each one as I was making 'em. (top row, left to right: Elise, Rhiannon, Lian bottom row, left to right: Dalia, Astrid, Johanna) Elise - A novice red mage who just recently earned her certificate of mastery. She's calm and laid back. Rhiannon - Legendary martial arts master who was recently called out of retirement. Most underestimate her because of her age and sex. Lian - Engineer in charge of the flagship of the airship fleet. She often has her head in the guts of the engines trying to modify them. Dalia - A woman of few words who is well known in the fighting circuit. Astrid - A new appointee to the royal guard who is eager to prove herself. Johanna - A paladin of an ancient order who is still striving to right the world, even as she's getting up there in years. Edit: Female faces of color! Older ladies! Eeeeevil Women! Feel free to use my edits in your own projects, just credit me (and post in this topic that you're using it) Any sort of feedback is welcome.

Female Commanders, Soldiers, and General Actors

As requested, made one portrait version of an actor. It took me far longer to modify her than I was planning. Don't think I'll do another one but here's this pirate lady.
  3. Huzzah, posted a video to my YT about editing rtp face graphics

Made a new video about editing graphics!

Female Commanders, Soldiers, and General Actors

More female battlers (female rework vs male original)
  6. Edited a battler from RTP. I like my female version better than the original. RTP didn't look tough enough, imo.

Female Commanders, Soldiers, and General Actors

Hey, back after being away for a good long while. Made a new face set with a blank included. I'm calling it "young blonde girl" since she has a rounder face than most. Edit: Playing around with battlers. Didn't like the female version of grappler from RTP, so edited the male version into a rework of a female grappler. Also posted is a side by side of the male versus female version of the grappler that I edited.
  8. Holy cow, finally working on my project again and logged in.

  9. Feeling pretty accomplished: made a bunch of bracelets with new loom AND finished up/posted some face portraits I've been neglecting for nearly a month.

Finally finished up some requests. I hope they're "evil" enough for you. My personal favorite is the older version of the witch. I'm on vacation for the next 3 weeks (great perk to working for a school). Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in some time for more graphics.

Yeah, I got stalled. Whoops. IRL things have been getting in the way again. I DID finish a few face portraits I'll wait till I finish the set before I post.
  12. I hope this addresses and helps you find what the problem is. First take a look at the character you're wanting to use that skill. Is he/she the same class as the one who is receiving the spell or skill when they level up? I'll use this paladin as an example. Make sure that not only his class has that certain spell/skill listed in skills but also that he can use that skill type. I want him to learn "Heal" at level three. On the traits list (right side) I have to make sure he's able to use the skill type "magic" to be able to cast that spell. You can add various skill types (magic, special attacks, other custom stuff) to the character's class. Lastly, check to see if the desired skill is the skill type you added to your character's class. The paladin is able to use magic so he will be able to cast "Heal" when he gets to level three.

Thanks for the comment Wren! I'm supposed to see the doctor tomorrow to get cleared to go back to work, so till then I can work on more graphics. Anything you'd like to see? I'm still on a creative editing high for these faces.
  14. Good night for productivity in the graphics department! Made new older female faces. She's not just "villager" or "housewife" anymore!

  15. Something good came of me getting hurt at work: finished two new sets of female face edits. There isn't enough women of color in RPGs.

women of color may sound kinda racist, but I agree with you that we need more racial diversity!

      Ocedic

It's not really racist; it's a term used in many politically correct contexts to describe racial minorities these days.

After some consideration and lots of spare time at home (due to injury at work) I made two sets of female faces of color. I started making little bios for each of them but kinda gave up since I was on a roll with Photoshop. Your comments always make my day Edit: I'm REALLY on a roll tonight. Here's some older women. I tried to make varied professions (soldier, commander, mage, etc) so she's not just "housewife".

Do it yourself! Try multiplying the skin color with a slightly darker color (because it'll get really dark really quickly). You still retain the shadows and other details.
  18. Making a video tutorial on how I edit face graphics. Will post soon!

Female Commanders, Soldiers, and General Actors

I use my old Adobe Photoshop 6.0 to edit these. I'll post a tutorial later as to how I do it.
  20. Huzzah! Made more female face portraits after getting good receptions on the ones previously posted.

I like them all but especially the soldiers and Dalia and Elise.

Good job, there is a need for combat ready looking females.

I totally agree as well. I ended up using famitsu.com's sprite generator to get the sprites you see. There *isnt'* an armor wearing female that's fully covered. I guess I should go back and edit the sprites (since it's something that bothers me too). I wish I had a link to it, but there's a strip from "Dork Tower" where during a tabletop RPG a woman is playing and makes her "hot amazon babe" character put on tons of armor. The guys she's playing with aren't happy with it but she doesn't see how a female going around swinging a sword would wear something akin to a chain mail bikini.
  22. Contemplating posting "RadioPSI Adventures" demo/info to this site. Have to talk to my partner first though.

Female Commanders, Soldiers, and General Actors

Thanks, I was really nervous doing them. I'm not exactly comfortable doing digital only things as my main focus of my art has always been traditional media (watercolor in particular). I can honestly say this was my first time editing things like this so tiny (sprites)!

    Changing battle backgrounds without scripting

You guys are more than welcome. I'm still quite the newbie myself and don't have scripting down. You have to get creative to overcome obstacles sometimes
  25. Editing some face portraits: there were no female soldiers/commanders before :/

I like that they aren't just standard RTP faces either. Variety =D

      noellechan

Well, technically they ARE. I Frankenstein'd the standard RTP faces together to form these :3 Eyes from here, nose from there, hair some guy.

    4. charlesthehurst

      charlesthehurst

Yes, but they aren't just recolors or whatever. Frankens are new characters, who just happen to have a borrowed part here and there.
