*Yawn* (stretch) Not much seems to have changed here, that's nice. I need to get back onto RPG Maker. Perhaps I'll actually finish a game for once instead of leaving it to gather dust. And actually figure out a working combat system to boot instead of jumping all around the place.

So...it's been awhile since I've been here. And I'm slightly lost now, but all I'm looking for is any Zelda style scripts for combat etc. if anyone would wish to aid this one. I've got half a mind to make a Demon's Souls style game. Does anyone have any recommendations?

So...this gives events hit points? This is perfect for my project, as it features large scale battles that you can take part in. Soldiers and people all around you hacking at each other. Giving them hp would be that much better for my project.

Dayam...I do believe my steam account got rustled. I checked it out, the account thought I was some person in Montreal, Quebec, and so I did a lot of changing around here and there. Jeez, I'm explaining to the steam support guys that I'm up in the North of Canada, not the Southeast. In either case, it was quite the surprise for me to find.

Bwahahahaha! I just found something amusing that I want now! A "knight hoodie", a hoodie that looks like a suit of armour, with the helmet as a hood, complete with a visor to cover your face to protect against the cold!

Une questione: It appears that the checkpoint system, at least to my understanding (I've tried various things), works only for when you're in battle. So if you run afoul of an in-map trap that gives you a slap, you just get a game-over, and go back to the title screen. In my case, I'm eventing, as Galv's awesome actor battle script isn't technically a "battle", so afterwards, when determining what occurs when you lose, you just go back to the title screen. Long story short, I was wondering if there would be some way to make it so that when you die, regardless of cause, you can respawn at a checkpoint. (I suppose I could do a battle sequence immediately afterwards that kills you first turn to make the checkpoint system work, but that would just look funny and probably make the player go a little wtf.

I've now implemented this idea into my current game. It's working beautifully! I've got several ideas and questions. 1) Would it be possible to set up extra buttons? (I know this was already asked, but it relates to my next question) 2) Items: An extra bar somewhere that tells you how many potions and MP potions you have left? (use q button for health, e button for more mp, examples) 3) A mana bar? (Using the current system, you can just abuse the living daylights out of a single heal as long as you a)keep a distance b)keep using it over and over 4) Still gotta look up other scripts (I think that there was a script already), but to change the basic attack of a character? 5) Also, I really like Yoda's character sprites, but there is nothing about a death animation playing only once, so when a character with a death animation goes down, like Yoda's rock guy, he just keeps crumbling over and over, it just looks weird. I'll try to come up with more questions in the future, I think. If not, then either there is nothing more to ask (highly improbable), someone else beat me to it (more likely), or else a spontaneous black hole opened up on top of me and threw me into an alternate dimension (this is most logically the most likely scenario). In either case, I like this script. It's really improved my game now, as this has replaced the other idea I had for combat. EDIT: I've come up with yet...another question!!!!! ^o^ Magic Barriers: Is there some way to implement these in? So if there is some state that gives a bonus to defense, the character in question would have a little barrier around him/her/it/whatthehellisit? Just thought something like that would be cool, also telling the player when the barrier is active or not (if you can see it, it's obviously activated).

I've got my costume ready for halloween. Sure it's early, but it was upon impulse. Now I've got a bit of a "ringwrath"-like costume to scare trick-or-treaters as I hand out goodies! But then again...a friend of mine thinks that you can never be too old to trick-or-treat. XD
