If there's a lesson to be learnt when it comes to writing, it's this: do not try too hard to be original. It's much more important to settle on an involving narrative with interesting characters, rather than original ideas that might fall flat in execution.

At some point I really want to do a game revolving around the really annoying roadtrip genre of films, with their painfully formularic structure. (Guy and girl in relationship, girl dumps guy, guy's idiotic and misogynistic friend takes guy on road trip to forget about girlfriend and shenanigans ensue) But with the typical jrpg codes and conventions. So my laptop is on it's way out. The battery is done for, and the charger wire has to be in just the right position for it to turn on, a slight movement turns it off. I can't tell you how many times I've lost progress on my screenplay (for the game). Frustrating times >_<
