UPDATE: Last month, I created a bard for the ReStaff release... so here you go - The rest of him is on the front page if you want to check him out. - Free for commercial and non-commercial use.

hey, how long have you been drawing for? they're looking pretty good for a start, what program are you using? Are you using a pen tablet, or a mouse? I guess for now the best thing for you to do towards improving is to try and draw pictures from reference images to improve on getting your anatomy correct. There are also a lot of tutorials out there. I think a great artist in anatomy is Andrew Loomis, just look him up, and he has a lot of great tutorials. - hope this helps

o wow, nice! you should edit your first post with these up there looks like art from a comic. keep 'em coming!
-
Aaw, thanks Allusion! I really like your guy's stuff too, your art is amazing! I don't know how you people manage to find the time to create all this stuff haha, it's aweome! I think if I had to pick a fave, you'd win this round, Jonnie, your tracks are very nice!
-
your welcome haha Thanks! I'm not sure if you noticed, I started up a drawing topic as well over here - snip- There you'll see my process.... it's VERY sketchy in the beginning haha. EDIT: *face-palm* argh, sorry! YES, I am very interested! haha xD maybe even a stream at some point? haha I kinda want to do a stream of my drawing, but not sure how to go about it yet

ooh, this is a cool topic. Hopefully more people will add stuff . Here's my post of Ash - Im not actually certain the first was just last year... might have been earlier (sigh), often, I kinda cheat with my hair by using a brush instead of painting the individual pixels .

been looking at ur art before, and finally thought I'd leave a reply haha. anway, woooooooow your art is amazing! I really like your line-work and the way you draw/paint the hair is really nice. hopefully, I could get better at line-art one day. All I do is create this messy as sketch and form that into my outline lol. aaaaaaand I gotta draw more too! You should record yourself creating a fully finished design one day (if you haven't already), I'd love to see it .

I'm pretty this has already been said before, but is there a place where all us users can go for random chatting?... or does everyone add each others skype? ...or something? ...would be cool

-
hmmm maybe one day I can do that if I have free time? lol. Yea, I quite like the walking dead too... in fact I think that was one of the reasons that got me into creating this game actually haha.
-
wait, are you asking if I can make you a wallpaper of my walking dead or the actual The Walking Dead (tv show/comic)? I don't really have enough time to take requests atm, but I could possibly combine my zombies into a wallpaper if you want? lol. One day I'd like to create a decent wallpaper and stuff for my zombies, but that would be after the game is completed I think .
-
wow, that editor looks awesome! not quite what I was looking for, but man, that's really cool. I've messaged him to see if he can help out, would be good to just get that movement script if it's even possible xD.

cooooooooooool, thanks Bunni! and thanks heaps for the support! haha, this was only going to be a month project, and then I've gotten a little too into it and it could take half a year ...hopefully it'll be done by the end of the year YA i still needed names haha, hadn't gotten any yet... until now ...didn't even think about thesaurus, thanks haha beef... or rotten beef? yeeeaaa, fully agree with the crazy idea lol brain surgeon or maaaybe I could stick with the super infected explosion dude? hahaha. lol party person just made me think of when the zombie explodes, it spreads confetti everywhere xD... that could be interesting thanks for the names, I'll certainly consider them! -
UPDAAAAAATE: Alright, this one got me quite excited actually haha. It's just the start of more to come Now, I know there are some templates out there already, but I somehow felt indifferent to them haha, so I made my own and here you are! Credit goes to Enterbrain, Kaduki and myself Jonath4nC Now with the first sheet, you will see it looks no different to enterbrain's default template, but if you look closely, you might notice that I have changed a few things around to better suit the diagonal sprites I created. Anyway, these are free to use for both non-commercial and commercial use, you can share it post it elsewhere or whatever as long as you give credit where it is due, (to Enterbrain, Kaduki and Jonath4nC). Coming soon will be the female version... and then later on, the other actions for both genders . Note: You will need a $ symbol as a prefix to these as they are single sheets and a [diag] suffix for the diagonal sheet if you plan to use Victor's Diagonal Movement script. Enjoy!

that's quite an interesting style you got haha, cooool
-
ah ok, I'll have a search yea, isometric can be 45 degree as well I think, but I kinda prefer the 30 degree angle, but that's if it's possible haha

UPDATE: Crazy zombie - This one took me a while haha. I ended up deciding on recording all my process from now on, so getting that started and up and running, took some time lol. I also have a WIP version up there. Anyway, here's the full process - Recording Crazy Zombie Design ...thanks heaps if you took the time to watch that

zombie I can see clearly now my brain has gone...
Jonath4nC replied to Jonath4nC's topic in Theory and Development
phew UPDAAAAATE: From now on, I thought I would record my progress in both creating this game, and creating the art. Boy, what an endeavor that turned out to be haha. So after a week I finally was able to find a decent screen recorder, draw my concept, and upload. But from this point on, everything should be easier and faster... here's hoping anyway haha. Anyway, here's the new concept - So if you would like to make all this effort worth while (hahaha), you could check out the full process over here - Recording Crazy Zombie Concept ...and thankyou if you took the time to view it I also have a separate topic on my drawings if I hadn't already mentioned that - Jonnaz Drawings On top of that, I think I'm settling on the title? And also, if you have any ideas on what to name the types of zombies I have, that would be awesome! (such as walkers, runners, clickers etc.) ...check out the list in the development tab for more info on that... I also need ideas on unique rooms, just throw all physics out the window when coming up for any ideas if you do as well. It can be any size... literally anything. Just PM me with your ideas (as I don't want them spoiled haha) and they could end up in the game! THANKS!! -
No no, it wasn't this forum haha, this forum is AWESOME!! I haven't seen any as good as this in my opinion . As far as I know or think, this forum doesn't mind people creating sprites based off other games and anime etc. but I feel I might be breaching some law or something if I do. I'm almost certain that I wouldn't get "caught" for creating them, but that's not the point haha . Anyway, thanks heaps for the support, I really appreciate that

update: :'( I hadn't looked into the legalities of creating sprites owned by other companies etc. until now.... so as you may have noticed, most of my sprites have been taken down. Sorry for letting anyone down, especially Cr0nus, but I feel I shouldn't be creating these anymore if I might even be slightly infringing any copyright laws :/. So if you have already gotten these sprites, then I guess you are welcome to use them if you dont mind the possible legalities and don't credit me lol. So some real sad news, but I will most likely be uploading all the stuff that I will be creating for the next couple games I'm building that are coming up in the future. (this will include more sprites, some actual tilesets, some facesets and animated battlers etc.) .

Hello world! This is my first ever blog entry, so hey guys... if there's anyone who would read this that is. Well, I better introduce myself by first saying that I have a strong interest in 3D animation as that's where I want to be in the future and so for anyone interested, here's some of that stuff - http://www.youtube.com/user/Flyingfoxenator Anyway, back to rpg... I just recently got VX Ace and joined this community so on my profile I'm classed as a newbie, yay haha. ...buuut I have had experience with the previous versions as well and I must say that Ace is such a huge and awesome improvement, thankyou so much Enterbrain So of course I've been playing round with all their new features (yea I know, it's like a year old now, but new to me anyway). Everything about this program is just mouth wateringly good :'D Then after coming on here, I've just been looking up all your guys awesome scripts. Still haven't quite played round with those yet (also please don't mix me up with a scripter... sure I understand it, but I can't write any myself... yet). One of them was Khas Awesome Light Effects script (http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/1003-khas-awesome-light-effects/?hl=khas) Now for some reason I looked at it and thought meh, then carried on. Later on, I saw some images on deviant art on lights and saw things I hadn't even seen or thought of before that would now change the way I use RPG Maker. I had always avoided night scenes, probably because I couldn't get the lighting to look as good as it did during day. but after seeing these images, I figured I would first draw out the scene in RPG Maker, then printscreen and edit in photoshop to transform it into night. So that's exactly what I did for my first test below. I then created a tile set out of that. Which technically is just that image spread across the space of a tile set. and during the process of this, I looked back at Khas Lights, and just realized how awesome they really are... so yea, I can understand why awesome has to be in his title lol. Just the way the shadows move is incredible, thanks Khas! So just thought I'd post the demo. Enjoy guys, I really hope you give this a go as you probably won't regret it haha - http://www.mediafire.com/download/30sjy2uuph2tbu5/Project_Day-Night_Demo.exe If there are any major glitches or anything in the game (as this is my first post of uploading a game etc.) please do tell ...especially because those doors are quite messy, event wise. Also, I know this probably isn't the place for requests, but if anyone actually does have any requests, please give me yell as I might just be able to help. I can do everything in this program but scripting and composing music/sound effects. Credit All the script credit goes to Khas. Also all his lights in that folder and used in the demo are his. - http://arcthunder.site40.net Everything else was created by me. You can do whatever you want with this (not sure what you would do with this, but hey) ...just credit me if you can be bothered, I would appreciate it, thanks. Enjoy

Haha, yea when I first discovered this, I found it real amazing... and then I found that there were such things as parallax mapping which is pretty much the same thing, but the possibilities are really endless with what you can do if you just draw out your maps. I also heard, you can have separate layers of maps so you can cover the character with shadows and stuff. I would like to create tutorials one day actually. But I don't think I will be creating any tutorials until I release my zombie game. After that's released, I could focus on some tutorials on how I created the certain effects I plan to be using in the game . Maybe mid-way through the production, I will create a kickstarter to help fund it, so I can add more features like voice acting and stuff.... so I would end up needing a microphone etc. I could also add merchandise as well with my 3D skills, I can create some 3D prints. ....lol just went a bit off track there . Anyway, for now there are plenty of awesome parallax mapping tutorials out there somewhere haha, Thanks for the feedback and having a look at my 3D stuff!!
