Help me some ideas for monster plz -_-
Cheeso replied to cuongeke1's topic in Theory and Development
I don't have any more ideas currently, but I love just coming to this page and seeing the incredible artwork. It just makes me really happy. Also, for that "pokemon", I notice its main structure is composed of three parts with the the head and rear having this cool pinkish design. However, the middle section looks a bare so maybe another smaller design should be added there to keep consistency. That's just my opinion. Regardless, I really like the overall style of it. Don't stop doing what you do!! -

Name: Lost Soul Desc: From far away it looks like nothing but a shadow on the wall. However, a closer look will reveal its long crooked arms and its transparent gaze that never blinks and never loses eye contact with its victim. Goes through walls to strike victim when they turn their back, and instead of feet there is just a cloud of fog underneath it. Only stays in dark places as any source of light will cause the Lost Soul to immediately dissipate. Special Ability: Transparency: Lost Soul can go through walls and over floor obstacles. (self/allies) Dead gaze - paralyzes enemy for two turns. (one enemy) Movement Range: 3 Weakness: all light/holy attacks Range: Only 1 cell-any direction -
Gotta love that purple though. Looks amazing!

Oh WOW!!! Perfect. Just perfect.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Anyways, welcome XIX!!

I agree with the low visibility of the name. Did not notice it until you pointed it out. Also with the newest, the name inclusion seems a bit bland as it's just a normal black text. I suggest you mix what you did and get that really artsy portrayal of your name while still being able to make it stick out as well as you did with this one: Aside from that, the art is incredible and I'm so amazed at how one can even accomplish making anything like let alone making three. Looks fantastic!

Yeah, I see what you mean. If I can get funding for the project I'll be hiring an artist to redo the designs. Before that point, though, I really wanted to have pictures of characters so had to do them myself. And the art side of design isn't my strongest skillset. He'll be suitably aged in future versions haha awesome!

This is a really cool and unique style you have going on here. My only caveat is that Nadime looks considerably younger than 44. That's just what I think. Anyways, always fun to see something new.

Ah, see now that's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you. And don't feel left out. All ideas were taken into consideration even if I never made a response referring to them. I will be sure to implement this new idea at the earliest convenience and report back if there are any problems. Thanks cercious.

So I figured it out but I do believe that there is a much more efficient way of doing this so contact me if you do figure it out. What I did was there are two variables: one for the number of steps until the encounter and one for the actual tiles. I set up events on the grass in a checkerboard pattern where upon each step the tile variable is either increased or decreased which then makes that tile stop its event and all adjacent ready for this process of dropping the step variable until it reaches zero. Once it reaches zero, the step variable will randomize once more and all adjacent tiles will still be at the correct number for the decreasing the tile variable. Sound confusing? yes. Actually works? yes. Very stupid and innefficient? most certainly! If there is a better way of completing this, please inform me ASAP because I will utilize this process in my project in a couple of days when I have the time. Thank you everyone.

Exactly! I'm thinking I need an event that is a parallel process that can activate the battle once the variable used for the encounter reaches zero. However, I'm just not sure how to lower this number with each step in the region.

Hey so this project is being moved to the gaming lounge. I would appreciate viewers who assisted in this project in some way, shape, or form (whether it was testing or giving feedback) to continue with the help on the new project topic in the gaming lounge once it's up. I've uploaded some more screenshots from the newest version as well. I will continue to update the main version link in this topic as well and please continue your feedback as it is the only thing keeping this game alive. Thanks for the support!!- 14 replies

Well yeah, I understand that. It's just that for this part of the game I needed a kind of dark atmosphere for this battle. I was just focusing on fixing that glaring mistake in the background. Thank you for the feedback!!- 14 replies
