  5. WELL IT IS TIME! I have been working my perfectly sculpted, surprisingly taut-for-a-man-my-age rear off, and I have an update! Now, the storyline proceeds through another spaceship, and allow the player to descend to a terrifying alien world! Well, it is not terrifying exactly, but it certainly advances the plot. One of the reasons it's taken so long is that I have re-done all of the cutscene vids from scratch. I'm sorry, but I just had to do it, I wasn't happy with them.   6. Hmmm interesting point- I'm tinkering with the contrast and whatnot on the sprites and adding a shadow effect, they will look a little different in the next demo, Thanks muchly! It's progressing well, and there will be a bit more to see soon.
  7. Nearly done the cutscene, but I can't do anything until I find exactly the correct version of Lady D'Arbanville to listen to while I work.

  8. What kind of setting is it? The monsters fascinate me, but what are we talking here? Mythical beasts? Humans? How fantastical are we going, and is there a kind of theme you want for your monsters?

    Rpg with no magic?

    I think ultimately in a lot of fantasy games magic can very easily become a cruth used to wallpaper over difficult to handle areas. For instance, in reality it would take weeks or months to recover from a serious battle, but magic allows you to insta-heal your way from one fight to another. The question you have to ask is, if magic is completely removed from a game what are youleft with- does it stand up as a good story and interesting idea. So long as the game itself has a good story behind it, there are always non-magical ways to handle anything, ultimately magic is just a short-cut to enable you to do things that would be dificult or tedious otherwise.
