    GamingFreexHD's Fantasmical LP Room!

Lets try another victim! I've been trying to get an LP of my demo from two different LPers before but they both seemed to have quit.. Hoping I'll have better luck with you. > The title of the game: Bx3: Blood, Blades & Bounty > Link: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/21116-bx3-blood-blades-bounty/ > Any information I might need like glitches or bugs: None that I am aware of. If you come across any, feel free to let me know. > A description of the game: Its basically a story-based RPG about a young, naive swordsman who joins a mercenary company. The story is a lot darker than most games on here probably, and mature content will be included. I'm not talking about visual graphics (I'm not much of a champ when it comes to art so most of the recourses are standard RPG maker stuff) but more about story elements. I hope you don't have a problem with that. > Do you mind some of my music as background music? If not no problem!: I'd prefer not since I use sound effects and the like to create atmosphere. Or at least I try to. > Not a fan of criticism? Let me know!: As long as it's constructive

    Let's play!

Think you could give my game a play? While it seems like a dead project, time is finally allowing me to slowly start working on it again. The version you can download on the page is only a demo/prologue, which is about 45 to 90 minutes long depending on how quickly you play it. It does have some mature content, so I hope that won't be a problem. http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/21116-bx3-blood-blades-bounty/

Treat your ears. Soothe your soul.
  6. @Aya_Vectra I'd suggest adding a bit more props to the dungeon. Flowers, plants etc. I like the layout, though. I've edited my mountain village and used the shadow tool a bit (didn't even know it existed before this herp derp) For those wondering, the tropical palm trees in the upper right belong to a botanist/herbalist who specializes in plant life. The fact that he can grow tropical trees in a cold climate is a display of his skill. I know it sticks out like a sore thumb, but NPC's themselves even comment on this. Its completely intentional. Here goes. New: Old:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LVHtPNR1Oc The Knife. Very wierd at first, but I grew to them over the past few months. They have an interesting style.
  8. @Lihinel: Looks good. I really like your graphic style. @Raindeerman: Very well done. Very atmospheric. @LadyBloodSong: Hurrah, another person who just sticks to good ol' RTP. My only point of feedback is that it feels a bit too crowded. I'm all for filling up maps with details like stones and fallen leaves, but if you do too much of it you start to take away focus from the real point of attention of your map. In your case, the monastery. Also this might be nitpicking, but I noticed a little error at the very top left of your screen where you forgot to put the tree's upper left corner. Time to post some mapping of my own. Its all for my current project: This one is a village built on elevations in the middle of a plain. Its not -completely- finished yet but its done enough to put it up for feedback. Another village. This one is at the foot of a mountain range and is supposed to look barren, dreary and an overall unpleasant place to be. In the upper right house lives a herbalist/botanist who managed to grow trees even in these cold foothills.

Badass soundtrack time: As flawed a series as Naruto is, its OST is in my personal top 5.

I actually think this here has a lot of potential as a boss music because of the fast piano. I'd personally leave out the rapping as I don't really like vocals in game music. Just not my cup of tea.
  12. Same kind of problem as your first two posts. I've finally figured out that if I copy a new download link over the old one, it still links to the old download. I had to delete the download link, save the edits and edit again to put in the new link to solve the issue. All should be well now. I hadn't thought about it before, but that makes sense. I'll put it in my next update.
  13. Greetings community Upon finding this website, I decided to post a little project I've been working on the last week or so in RPG Maker VX Ace. Its an RPG with focus on story telling, and what I've posted here for now is the prologue/demo. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour and a half to play through it depending on how fast you are. Index: 1. Story Overview 2. Characters 3. Screenshots 4. Terms 5. Things to keep in mind 6. Download link 7. Credits 8. Reading this, it might be fair to warn you that my game also has some "mature" use of language. Its not potty humor per se, but foul language will occur even if its limited to several lines of dialogue (a few of which are among the first lines the player gets to read.) If you have a problem with this kind of stuff, I could always make a "clean version" in which I replace the obscene language with less obscene words like "damn" and "cursed." No worries, take your time. This actually gives me time to still add some things into the game.

Time to add to the workload! I have made a demo/prologue for a game that I intend to expand further on in the future, and I'd love for it to get some more attention. Would you like to play it? It'd take you about 45 to 90 minutes on estimate. Its got some mature content, but only in terms of subjects. No mature graphics are shown. Here's the download link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/1es9ph And here's the thread: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/21116-bx3-blood-blades-bounty/ Cheers

And now for something completely different. Goldfish! They have some songs that are a bit more well-known, but I chose this rather obscure one as it's been stuck in my head for a few weeks now. I really love how this band manages to blend jazz and dance/techno elements so well
  20. Right, after playing up until the , time to add my two cents. What I liked: The game has some very witty dialogue. I found the tongue-in-cheek humor quite amusing at certain points. I also like the little details you added to the game. The oneliners after finishing a battle/leveling up, the weaponsmith admiring his new sword, the squares of light in the otherwise gloomy church.. all these little details really work towards making your game stand out more. The backstory is also quite interesting, but I haven't really gotten far enough to see if the cultural differences are really focused on that much. Its something I'm definately looking forward to. What I think can be improved: Some of the battles seem a bit imbalanced. The most blatant example was when I was faced with two of those plant enemies that can put you to sleep. With the amount of time it takes to wake up from sleep and with the number of times the plants just heal or try the sleep attack again (thus making waking up take even longer) I came quite close to just quiting at one point. I've also noticed that the soldier character's defensive ability can only be used on himself. I'm assuming its supposed to be used on other party members mostly. Just a bunch of small errors really, but they are things that would be quite noticeable during test playing. My suggestion is that you test your own game more often, since I sometimes get the impression that you neglected to do so. The flaws I noticed were small and insignificant by themselves, but combined they can easily lead to annoyance. Overall, I think this is an interesting project with alot of potential. I liked the mapping most of the time, and the dialogue was amusing. With some finetuning, this could become a very amusing game. Best of luck to ya.
  21. Some updates: - Revamped part of the city, gave the Slums their own map. - Added a few NPC's - Added the Ace Battle System from Yanfly and added him to the credits. I hope to expand on the battle system soon to make the fights seem more interesting.
  22. I see. I'll spend some time trying to make battles more interesting as well as having less forced encounters where you can't escape from.
  23. Thanks for your thoughts. How far did you get exactly? If you felt that there were many battles, then I assume you at least got to the mansion part, am I correct?
  24. It seems sendspace was being a pain in the ass, but I think its the correct one now.
  25. Edited, hope it works now. - Small edit: Added some last names to some of the characters. I knew I had forgotten something, lulz..
