I had a simple script for Ace that added a new option to the title screen, then displayed a message when that option was chosen. Could someone make me a plugin like that for MV? The message will be one of my choosing, so don't worry too much about it. (It's a multi-project script, you see.) Thanks a million.

I'm new to ruby. Would it be easy to code mini-games?

Where is this "built in date calculation" method? -
What do you think is a good alternative for those who can't draw?
Ketren replied to rathalos888's topic in Editor Support and Discussion
Don't make games for others. That is to say, make something you enjoy regardless of what it looks like. You're an artist, and art is subjective. Those are my two cents; take 'em or leave 'em. -

How would i make characters that are not cringeworthy?
Ketren replied to Fendisteel's topic in Theory and Development
On a mock-serious note- please don't include any talkative girls with high-pitched voices. Or if you do, don't let that be the only facet of their personality... -
It's the same with books- some authors will find a "groove" that readers like, and stick with it. I know Redwall, for instance, has many of the same plot elements every time. And with few exceptions, every "perilous hare" has almost the same personality. That's o.k., you expect that from Redwall. The fact is, all the possible plots have been explored time and again; the same is probably true for game mechanics. And you don't expect a beat-'em-up brawler from Natsume; you expect a farming sim with little to no violence.

You don't even need a script to implement date and time. Head on over to RPG Maker Web, click on Ace Tutorials, and find "Tutorial Town". One of the videos shows you how to create a common event that keeps track of in-game time. -

^ I stand corrected; thank you. -

Just checked, and there's no command for changing sprites in the event editor. As for tuotorials- ask around or there's always the official forums. -
I'm a bit lost. Could you go back to the beginning and explain the scripting syntax? (That's how, exactly, the scripts are written.)

Sorry for butting in, but this thread made me curious. Is there any way to count the number of steps taken and display it on screen? Or perhaps show the number when a certain item is used- like a pedometer?

You could use the Fallout 3 approach (modified to suit your game, of course). In the beginning sequence, you character has just been born and his/her dad uses someting called a "gene projector" to show what he or she will look like as an adult. After that, you assume the role of a toddler to learn the movement controls, etc.

Question- what does DAW stand for? Read the pinned thread on music software and answered my own question.

Say, have you been using Box long? My father mentioned that Google claims the copyright to anything upload on their servers. Is that the case with Box?

Thank you, Soulpour. Huh. I just tried it, first making sure to add a new script under Materials, but nothing happened. What went wrong?
