Thanks!
That one is not being made in RPG Maker, so I'm not sure if I can say anything relevant regarding this.
There simply is an invisible camera object, that follows the character in a specific way. The screen is focused on the camera position and that's pretty much it I suppose. Some code and maths to update the view.
Thank you; I wish I also had more free time, heh.
How about you? Are you going to touch some old stuff? start new? or just came by to say hi?

Been trying to make the last strike of a skirmish more dynamic, but, well:
Any thoughts?

Actually opened RM and did a little work on Sovereignty today. Determined to push through this last leg and finish this.

Trailers are a lot of work:
-
Pretty much how I spent the weekend:
-
And with the latest build out I think I'm due a couple of days reprieve
(or at least the pleasant thought of one).

@TheoAllen made a really cool transition tutorial over on the other forums. You can check it out here: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/ace-how-to-make-evented-transition-effect.93025/
-
Hmmmm, you know I tend to use transitions a ton for various things (mostly as a replacement for normal fades) but I don't know if I ever had a need to use it during events like this. One trick I did do with it though was use Graphics.freeze in an event before a battle so I could clear pictures without updating the screen. That might be a handy trick for people who want to display pictures momentarily before a battle. I believe Graphics.freeze doesn't update anything if the graphics are already frozen.

Started making a trailer for Sovereignty but there's so much I'd like to show that it seems impossible to keep down to just a couple of minutes,

Playing Pokemon X. Much better than Sun so far.

Haha, I hope so Minerva.
@Takeo212I've never been too into the remakes so I'll probly pass on ORAS. But then Emerald was pretty rad so maybeee.
Nuzlockes are ace, I'd love to see your comic :3!
Did you pick up Ultra Moon?
@Nekotori I haven't got very far yet but the places look pretty nice so far. Pokémon towns are always too small though!
-
(slightly short rant/comment about ORAS/SM/USUM that was too long for a status update haha)
SpoilerORAS claims to be a remake, but they changed way to many things for it to be that. I'd say it's more a... revisit. I got to Mauville before I gave up on it. Wasn't a fan haha. They also took the customisation off you after giving you it in the previous game xD
I own Moon and Ultra Moon (and the BF has Sun/Ultra Sun) but honestly don't enjoy the region. The islands look nice, but the pokemon and the mechanics around it aren't my personal favourite. Got to the second island and just lost interest. Ultra Sun/Moon is basically the exact same game. The BF completed all versions and his comment was "the ultras are essentially the 'finished' game where they added everything they wanted, where as the sun/moon game was basically their unfinished version which lacked those few extra events". Still waiting on that Z version we'll never get...
X/Y was my favourite game atm to be honest. If you want a 3D pokemon on handheld, I still whole heartedly recommend that over the new ones. My only problem was it was too easy but you can change that yourself with nuzlockes and such. Hope you enjoy it Tarq

I made rice crispy squares :3

Huh. Mike Oldfield also made videogames. And appears to have been quite the visionary in that field also.
-
Been in a manga mood lately. Haikyu is easily the best one I've read so far.

Sometimes people are envious of my fast metabolism. Pretty sure my body is just really inefficient with calories :3

Mucking about making a Dishonored-esque stealth game.

I played the first one, and yes it was. Stealth games can be fun if done properly. Idk how well a program like RPG Maker would handle it. The best stealth games make great use of your environment. Shadows to hide in, and sounds that can attract or distract enemies. I suppose you could use terrain tags to make "shadow tiles". I'm sure you could script conditions based on how loud SE's play (footsteps, attacks, various environmental elements. There is a Proximity Script for Ace- not sure about MV- that lets enemies "see" the player.
The pieces are there, but I wonder if 3D is the better route to go. Alien Isolation is the best stealth game I've played recently, mainly because the PC is pretty frail compared to the enemies. Assassin's Creed has always had pretty good stealth elements, too.

Nigel Farage's tweet on a trainline stopping selling a certain newspaper:
"We are heading in a worrying direction. Banning things because you don’t like them solves nothing."
...Unlike your continued attempts at banning people from our country?

Laptop is misbehaving
I dont really like devving on the desktop.

Spending a lot of time on the ps3 lately. So many good games to revisit ^>^
-
-
Uhh, Idk, did someone say there were no games?
There's more good games than that for the ps3, although not necessarily exclusive. Mirror's Edge was great. Journey. The flurry of RPS; Borderlands, Bioshock and Fallout.
There were a bunch of HD remakes that genuinely benefitted from the better tech; Shadow of the Colossus, the first Star Ocean. There were some cashgrabs that didn't but whatcha gonna do?
And then there were just fun games; DB Raging Blast 2 was, undeniably, a poorly made fighting game but I still got hundreds of hours of entertainment playing it with friends back when we had more time than money.

Yo, how's that small game you started going?
-
??? No small game. Just a ginormous one that I'm really not working on anymore. I usually don't feel like doing anything productive when I get home form work, and when I do, it's in the form of housecleaning and errands more often than not. Maybe after football season I'll fill part of my Sundays with game devving.

I 'member! It took me a few minutes when I 1st read it. I actually ended up working on a new map for Regicide which is like 25% complete. Been a while since I even opened it, but I still know exactly where I left off and what needs to be done so it's completely out of mind.
QuoteWork sure can be tiring but I think I'd go crazy if I felt like I wasn't doing anything productive except work
When I'm off work, I'd rather just frolic and play!

So, AI targetting works like a charm. Still pretty dumb when it comes to command cards and overall tactics but posing a much stronger threat now.
