    When most people download an RPG maker game, it's likely that they already know the basics of RPGs so having to go through the basic redundant "HP is your health and you die if it reaches zero." is often unnecessary and can make the player become bored very quickly. (it's even worse when games don't have a "skip tutorial" button) on the other hand, there are people who are unfamiliar with RPGs and might need more help understanding gameplay mechanics. Plus, some games have custom systems when it comes to handling combat, skills, classes, etc. what are some ways that you guys handle tutorials so that the players know everything they need to know, while still keeping things interesting for them?

  7. i have a method for only allowing one counterattack, but you would need the yanfly attack replace script https://github.com/Archeia/YEARepo/blob/0594589252f87fe6cfac7c1770b066918d6ac290/Gameplay/Weapon_Attack_Replace.rb for each character that can use guard you need to set a common event that removes the counter state from them also duplicate the "attack" for each character and use the yanfly script to replace the characters basic attack with their own attack skill that you duplicated now set each attack skill to run the corresponding common event that removes the counter state from the corresponding character This should make it to where a counterattack can only happen once.
  8. create a state named "counter" and in its features put the counter rate to 100% and last for 1 turn in the features for the guard skill, set a feature to add the counter state (whatever percent chance you want) this should enable the guard skill to let a character counter if they are hit using guard not sure how to make it double the damage the enemy would have done, but hope I helped a little bit

    i usually give them a book item, which runs a basic common event showing text that states all the ins and outs of the game

    being poor could give extra training to steal stuff since you had to steal food to live...i only used being poor as an example

    when a player gets to create his or her own character, and the character will have a background that will give benefits and penalties as well as change how some NPCs react in the game (such as a rich NPC treating you like dirt if you have "poor" background) Should the player get to choose the character background, or should it be random since you wouldn't really have a choice in real life?

    I actually posed nearly the same question a couple days earlier. The solution I was given didn't help me entirely likely due to compatibility issues due to other scripts, but if it works for you, then Yey! http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/26907-trade-actors-on-state/ Sadly, this doesn't work...Thank you for trying to help though.
