  1. I went back and watched it, and it really is that good (minus the spacey bit as you said). It's so weird how they haven't been able to capture that level of intrigue since.
  2. Let's talk about game intros. First, a quote I've said on another RM site: Anyone else like this? Typically, most intros will establish a setting, introduce the main character and his/her situation, then maybe drop you into a tutorial or two before finally letting you take proper control and explore the game. Am I alone in thinking this is the absolute worst way to hook your players? Usually when I play a game, I want to do just that: play it. Not sit through a lecture on what some evil kingdom is up to or what this dude had for lunch last week. Of course there's cases where a game opens with an interesting development which then makes me want to pay attention to what else the intro has to say. But personally, I find that to be a rather rare thing indeed. Thoughts?

    ~ Cerephoros' Music Compositions ~

You've definitely got talent, no denying that! Is there any way to download the songs so that we can listen to them with our player of choice? Not really fond of having to stay on soundcloud to listen! Also, I'm assuming your songs AREN'T available for other people to use in their games?
  4. Gotta say, this is MIGHTY impressive! Hoping to make something with this one day!

Pedantic and Grandiloquent Use of Language?

Reminds me of "Phylomortis", or more accurately "Psycho-Political Drama Phylomortis: Avant-Garde" See if you can find it! It's basically the exact same kind of game you're talking about here. As to whether it's a good idea to do these kinds of games? Not really...

    Serious or Humorous

A good story has a balance of both elements. For example, popular tv series like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad are reputed as being quite dark and morbid, but they have their fair share of relatively comedic moments. On the other side of the spectrum, Fresh Prince of Bel-air, despite being a comedy, had a number of very serious and real plot points, and that's certainly part of the reason why it stands out compared to other sitcoms.
  9. Cyberpunk is more dark and grimy. Think Shadowrun, or the initial Midgar part of FF7. It's one of my favorite genres, but you don't see it much in rpg's for some reason. Everyone always just does fantasy... To be honest, I don't really have much expectations. If it's future-y and looks decently made, I'm practically guaranteed to give it a shot, just because there's hardly any out there as it is.
  10. I've used DNS a little as well. It's possible to do things like surf the net or go through windows explorer using it, so I think it should also be possible to make it so that saying "UP" becomes recognized code for pressing the UP button instead of printing out the word "Up" (and similar for corresponding buttons) Keep in mind you need a microphone headset that'll work with DNS. Maybe ask your friend which one she uses. I'd be surprised if the makers of DNS haven't thought of stuff like that, so why don't you go to their website and see if you can get in contact with anyone? If you find out anything substantial, I'd personally love to hear about it too.
  11. It's a little weird how everything's proportionally the same. I'd do some foreshortening, maybe have the guy pointing the guns towards the camera?

What do you want for an ECCHI game

Well, most important would probably be visuals no? Are you good at drawing/spriting, or know anyone who is? I mean you can try to make an ecchi game just with words and stock sprites, but it'd be kinda bleh unless your prose is actually incredible? Your tags kill me man XD
  13. Be sure to make it clear when an enemy's about to attack! Have a windup animation or something to warn the player. It should be entirely the player's fault if he/she gets hit.
  14. If you go to the youtube page, it lists the scripts used:
  15. Being able to stack bonuses. For example, equipping weapon, helmet, armor and accessories that all boost critical or evasion, so that it's like 80-100% chance of critting/evading. I mean immersion, story is nice, but mostly I just like tricking out my party to mess with the system.
