    My first attempt

Been really busy with work and haven't had much free computer time, but have been slowly working on remakign the maps to look more modern, I should update all soon
  2. The game looks great! I'll edit my post after I play the demo! Nice artwork in your "resource well"!

    My first attempt

Thanks for the feedback @Kotori-Chan - You're right I shall use the smaller sprites, he does look odd at the moment. I was seeing how they looked as they came with the zombie pack, but look out of place so I didn't change the others. I'll change the backs behind all the doors (overlooked it ) so make the transition look smoother:) Wow your game looks amazing, it seems very detailed, that kind of skill is what I hope to thrive for! I'll be downloading it and test it out when I have a chance. Great job!! @Allusion - You've got a point I should just delete that "path" map, it would feel annoying and pointless right? I like your idea on asking wheter on you the toon wants to go to town or not (maybe even having to have an item that rat will drop to advance). Another thing thats troubling is the tielset issue, after choosing the hospital as a main setting everything else seemed so medevel. That flat screen tv in the Hospitals waiting room is so out of place xD. I'll have to look at some different resources to modify the town to make it look more modern without messing it up completly or just make a new map and use the old one as a refrence point, ah! (time for more videos & reading into the maker xD) Theres so many cool resources it's probbly better to spice it up a bit in the looks/style of the game, thanks for pointing it out and making me want to change it!

    My first attempt

Hi everyone I've been working on my first game ever, I'm completly new to this but really liking this community & working with RPG maker. My game is going to star a recently our of the millitary marine that needs to help save this town from a parasitic organism that took over it's host and then over the Hospital and started wreclking havok in town with it's zombie like minions & monsters. The marine will have to get some help from the resistance at their base to fight their way up the hospital to take out the parasite. It will be a small game as it's my first and want to not go in over my head. Maybe it can expand in the future, who knows. Heres some screenshots of my starting area, home, town, church, resistance base, and the hospital which is my first attempt at orignal mapping. Here is also a small video showing some "gameplay" most of the maps have some sound but the darn vid capture program didn't grab it! Looking forward to the critques, and getting slowly better

    Greetings and salutations!

Sounds intertesting dude, sounds like its going to have quite a few details! The game I'm working on is a "save the world type game" just on a smaller scale (save the town beause I think it's a simple story and I can hopefully equally focus on all parts of the game). My game starts with a recently retired marine that lives right otuside of town a, friend and local worker at the Hospital comes for help and just gets a vague message and plea for help. A parasitic worm took over a host after being uncovered in some ruins, after a while the host gets sicker and goes for help. The host is completly transformed into a zombie like creature, most of the hospital is taken over. The ex marine needs to save some people make his way to the resistance camp for additional help and supplies before heading to a church and finally the hospital. Got a little more than half of the maps done, a couple of test zombie mobs walking around trying to start a battle with you. Then the quests and mobs bosses etcc lol pretty muh the hard stuff x)

    Greetings and salutations!

Welcome, hope you're feeling better (speedy recovery)! I'm learning how to use this as well, what kind of game do you plan on starting with?
  7. LoneSupermaan

    Motivations of an antagonist

I want my antagonist to be a baterium or parasite (similar to The Strain books/tv show). Where it has taken hold over a host and mutated it to a vampire/zombie creature that wants to reproduce itself. The parasite was discovered by patient zero in an acient vault and the man checks himself into the towns hospital....the hospital is taken over and monster are starting to roam the town for more victims. This is my first attempt at a game, so the antagonist isn't going to be a genious but hope is still captivating.
  10. @ Maindri real cool indoor map dude, as a new mapper myself this is inspiring. @ PXL very nice title screen @ Master, cool portal maybe each portal in your game can have one defining item or look to tell them a part?

    story RPG Addictiveness (Part 2)

Very informative for my first game I wanted to make something small with around 4 tasks (quests) but after reading this I might expand it to 6 to be able to have 3 groups of 2.

    battles RPG Addictiveness (Part 1)

Thanks for this writeup, working on my very first game (small one first) this will help with the dynamics. Took me a couple days alone to think up of a story line (zombies taking over my town because of something that happend in the towns hospital.
  14. Hello to you all, first of all thanks for taking the time to open my thread. I am extremely new to RPGmaker & coding in general, I took a Unix class a couple years at school and messed around with these lego (i think thats the brand) nxt robotic kit that had a very simple programing "language" ie blocks of premade code. Being 24, I grew up around the age of RPGS sidescrollers etc thanks to the sNES then n64, then slowly faded out of console gaming though I still like my DS. I finally got the curage to look into how to make an rpg game and looked at different engines and thought this might be a good one to start with.Spent a couple hours on youtube already and started making a **very simple** zombie game. Where I start in my house, make my way to town and see why stuff went downhill and save the town. I have a few maps already, need a couple more to then start populating my game with npcs mobs and some quests which I hope I'm able to achive. I made my first test rat mob that moves around and the fight is triggered by touch. I hope to get to know some of you and make new friends. Thanks for reading my intro thread. Be well, all!
