So what made you wanna come back now?

Hmm I dunno. This was the first RPG Maker forum I belonged to, and I had some fond memories of it. Of course, it was much more lively back then. What exactly happened with that? Did things just gradually taper off? Was there a mass exodus? Was it a bear attack?

RPG Maker is just dead is all; the official forums probably-possibly-maybe have more activity, but I wouldn't know because I'm not there.

Like this one. Well, the sword looks more like a claymore, but it's wielded single-handedly, and maybe one-and-a-half sword.

I ended up just working on one layer. (aside from the sprites) Sky needs doing still.

Looks like it's coming along rather well.

Practice is always the way to get to where you want to go! I think that looks great so far, especially with the battler style. Don't be down on yourself, and most especially don't stop trying!
