Well, I guess Straydog25 wins it. Thanks to Omni Link for participating. I might open another contest like this in the future (after I finish making the game, obviously) for those who wanted a chance, but didn't get one.

Not...understanding....what? Do you mean other people's characters or characters from other posts by me? Because I'm pretty sure that's all of them. I'm not clear on what you're looking to do here.

No, trust me on this; I've heard some pretty terrible plots and it was clear that they were "inspired" by more prevelant works like Zelda or FF. At least I admit to it and don't take credit for it by propping it up as my own creations. All of my noteworthy works have gone up in the funeral pyres of RRR and VX.net, so I understand the fleeting nature of our works. That being said, I look forward to reading more plotlines. I do request that the spoiler function be used in the future, though, because some people are just like that and don't like their stories being ruined.

I fancy myself a man of reason, so use as many as you feel you need. I'd be impressed if someone got everyone into one story, but I doubt it'd happen, even with a multi-generational plot line. Use a handful, or use dozens. Makes no difference to me. The edits are pieced together from the images that come mostly from 2 places: busts that were available on VX.net before it got steamrolled and the images that are included with the software itself. There are a couple exceptions, but that's the truth.

Having a end date would really be nice seeing as how it'll let us know how much time we have to work with. Let's say end of March. I've been busy this month with life stuff , and I feel a month is long enough to put ideas together. Not like I'm expecting mass participation, either.

Ha! You're from Canada, too. I hear B.C is nice. Erm. I want to say that the characters are mine, but there are a few that aren't. Technically, they are, but legally they are not. It's a bit of a grey area, but that's as good as I can explain it without incriminating myself. It's like asking whether the people behind RPG maker own our games, or do we? In truth, I took characters from various sources (many of which I don't remember) and changed them, but don't credit them as being my own creation, since all I did was change them, rather than create them from scratch. There was an incident in the past in which someone didn't want their character or an altered version of a character posted on sites affiliated with someone, and I complied by removing that character, without argument. Any symbols or tattoos (like ones on the grey elf armor) were spur-of-the-moment, though, so I can't be blamed, as they're merely coincidence if they appeared somewhere else before I made them.

Like making things up? Of course you do. Well, I'm sitting on a pile of characters and, honestly, I can't come up with a story to tie them together. Luckily, I recycle stuff, so you can have siblings, and alternate costumes and family members, ect. Basically, I want to see what kind of stories can be created with my characters because no one ever has (that I know of, anyway). The best story gets made into a game, by me, with credit. The rules are very simple: 1. Don't plagarize existing works. I realise the irony in that, but it shows a lack of talent on the writers part if all they're going to do is play Mad-libs with a Final Fantasy plot and change some details around. If you were "inspired" by another story, I don't want to hear your plot. 2. You can only use the characters you're provided with. However, this is over 100 characters, so I don't see why you'd have a problem 3. Every single one has a name. You can change it, but please indicate that somewhere so I know who you're talking about 4. no, you're not getting paid and neither am I. 5. I have a job that I'm looking to get back to full-time, so I might not be around for much longer and replies might not be immediate. You've been warned. Well, that's that. Enjoy 1.75 mb worth of characters. Feel free to create personalities and everything, but it's not like I can't do that myself.

One more minor problem: Name input processing. I tried adding the Actor Clone script from the achives here, as I'm sure I'll recieve complaints about only being able to catch one of everything, and it's interfering with the name input function. I also added the "secondary class" script, but that hasn't given me any trouble (so far). This should be the last of my adventures in scripting (hopefully).

The switches are supposed to turn on via an event in the Forest Entrance map. When you step on square 07/15 (the one by the bridge), the event there turns both switches on. It's placed so you HAVE to step on it to get across the river. Also, I appreciate the other stuff, but have no clue where to put any of it. :wacko: EDIT: My bad. Turns out I removed that. Anyways, that tile/event activates the party limit variable ( 18 ) and the two switches you mentioned. It appears when you turn the switches on and doesn't do anything crazy, so I suspect that it was the order they were in that caused the problem. The Change Party option appears underneath Attack and Escape, so it's sort of out of order, but I guess that's more of a superficial cosmetic complaint than anything important.

Thanks! The arm is actually there, it's just hidden behind the fur. I Noticed that when I was doing the layering, but chose to ignore it because I felt that it looked better. Her hand just kind of juts out around the iliac crest and I was kind of dead for ideas by the time I got to her. Come to think of it, I think I might have even erased her hand. lol
