Excuse My Gut - Winter Fitness Gaming Challenge So what is this? Well, a while back, I was getting requests to return to longplays. I didn't want to do it for a while because I was having fun doing themed quickplays, but I decided I would try something for the late fall/winter months. Basically what I'm doing here is I'm playing through a game in one hour increments and setting special rules for myself that cause me to have to pause and workout at regular intervals. The rules are as follows: - If I level up, I have to pause and exercise. If the same character levels up more than once, I have to exercise even more. - If I die, I have to pause and do a challenging exercise, i.e. burpees. - If neither of these happens for 10 minutes of gameplay, I have to pause and exercise. So in some cases I'm only exercising 6 times in a given video, but there have been instances where it's been 10 times or greater that I'm having to pause and exercise! I'm hoping to help people get and stay motivated to work out during the winter months when it's especially tough to even think about getting out of bed, let alone exercising. Furthermore, I'm helping to educate people about all kinds of exercises you can do from the comfort of your home with no equipment necessary. Sound good? It's also important to note that the "current stats" section at the beginning will update as I improve at the gym as well. So in a way, I'm using this longplay challenge as a way to get myself into better shape as well.

I'm already up to episode 10! So one thing you'll notice is I change up the intro movie a bit every 5 episodes. This is mostly because while I do want to have pics of myself showing my workout progress, I thought it would be a good eye catch to have clips from previous episodes to make up the intro itself, but I wanted to update it on a regular basis to reflect what has been happening recently. We find Jean, get a shaman, get our build on, and even grind a bit!

I ended up taking out the original Breath of Fire in 23 episodes, so I started up with Breath of Fire 2! This one may take a while longer to get through, firstly because I've never actually beaten it (I always go for the best ending, which is painfully hard to get) and secondly because it's legitimately longer than the first. I'm also breaking these up into 30 minute episodes this time because I feel that will be easier to go through as far as consumable content.

Here's my 20th episode! As you can see, I updated the intro and I'm running through things a bit faster now. Shouldn't be too long before this is completely done! When I've finished this one, I'm moving onto Breath of Fire 2. I think I'm going to do 30 minute increments for that one because shorter videos are definitely easier to go through than longer ones.

Yeah, boiiiiii...episode 15! So we're rapidly approaching getting our final character, but of course, we have to go through one of the most annoying dungeons I've ever encountered. And yes, you guessed it, I'll have to trek through that bad boy again in the next episode.

Yep, already up to episode 10! We got a lot done in this one. We got some new characters, killed a reaper, took out a ship, and navigated an underwater world. Good times.

I'm actually up to episode 5 already! We restore Romero and take care of their "zombie problem" (they weren't really a problem at all and this is to say nothing of the zombie horde on the overworld either), clear a tower, and even ride around in a giant robot! Oh yes, and exercise.

Well, I already passed my 100 video mark as well as my 200 sub mark! Here's my latest: I'm actually not a fan of The Walking Dead (shock), but I do like this game. Incidentally, I'll probably get into the series anyway since I'm a fan of Supernatural and John Winchester (I know that's not his real name) is playing as Negan on there now.

So I realized I have like 60+ games that I categorized as horror or horror themed in my Steam library and that got me thinking...I haven't done ANY twitch in a while (I was actually still working on my Mother 3 playthrough off and on), so why not have something special for the whole month of October? And then I thought hey, wouldn't it be fun if I got the whole community behind it? I'm in the process of installing about 30 or so games that I can select from and intend to twitch for at least an hour a night throughout all October, probably doing a new game each night, even if it's only a one-off. Still, that's my situation. I really only have about an hour or so I can allocate each night, with the exception of my days off, mostly because I have to wake up early on days that I work. What I was wondering is if everyone else wanted to try this? We can post links to each others' twitch accounts, update with what we're playing, etc. This will also help us all get more press, views, and even highlight horror games we might otherwise not have thought of. And that ALSO got me thinking...there are a fair amount of awesome horror games on RPG Maker (The Longing Ribbon, The Witch's House, etc.), so why not highlight some of those as well? It doesn't have to be entirely RPG Maker, but I love finding new kickass RPG Maker games. Anyway, this doesn't have to start until October, but I was wondering what you guys thought about it. I'll be following and updating this topic just in case. Edit: My username on twitch is gunsage13. Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in here in a while. 2 spoopy is still very much alive and kicking as we rapidly approach 100 videos in the playlist! Here's the latest one I've done and I'm working on uploading another right now: This is kind of a strange one. It reminds me of Shivers, but far stranger. I wouldn't say it's a bad game, but it's kinda all over the place. I definitely intend to go back, probably off cam, and beat it.

I play it just long enough to get you a good taste of it and I've got to say, it's probably Frictional Games' finest work so far!

Along with Flailcast (where I blindly, but completely play through a game), my Magically Delicious St. Patrick's Day Special, and others, I want to do a LOT of fighting game playthroughs and have their own separate category set up. The idea is I give myself 3 credits and see how far I can go. With a lot of these, I may only need one, but I'll give myself 3 just in case. The idea here is try to pick some awesome, bizarre, and/or otherwise obscure fighting games. One I can already envision doing that not a whole lot of people seem to know about is Waku Waku 7. In any case, if you have any strange, weird, or obscure suggestions or just games you'd like me to play that are fighting games, let me know. I'll post my plays here.

Super Hyper Quest 2 The Sequeling Oh yes, it's happening. What's Super Hyper Quest? Well, most people will remember a little game I did where the title screen flashed up "OH MY GOD SHIT'S ON FIRE." Yeah well, that was meant to be the original Super Hyper Quest. What Will This One Be About? I honestly have no idea. I know that's not very reassuring, but keep in mind that with the last one I came up with the idea and the entire game itself in one week. With a game as random as this, it probably is better if I simply wing most of the plot. What Features Will It Have? Since I was in crunch mode for the last one, I had to use default RTP and a few clever design tricks to implement a lot of stuff I wanted. This one will have a lot of features that the last one had, but also stuff that goes outside the default RTP as well, complete with original characters, not so original music, and definitely not original SFX that I rip from other sources, but only for comedic effect. Beyond that, I want the game to switch back and forth between E'rrick and Rick, so you'll get to enjoy the story and interactions from multiple angles. How Long Will It Be? Definitely longer than the last one. After all, I don't have any major restrictions on this one. Why Should I Like It? So you can be one of the cool kids. You want to be cool, right?
