  2. @ Twilight - I like the overall tile choice on most of the house. I also think it is a bit open and empty looking, perhaps some windows or plants in there might also spruce the place up. Also, the roundness on the edges of the main flooring looks a bit strange when the rest of it doesn't have that pattern to it. Obviously since it's in the experimental stage you're still tweaking it though. ----- This is an image from the horror game that I am working on. I'm currently refining my outdoor tileset. Candles are available that make it easier to move around, but I wanted to show the lighting without the candle interference. (There is also a "hidden" character in this sho.t)
  3. Finally finished the outlines for all 6 endings for my game. 2 are variations, but that's still going to be a lot of event checking. >.<

  4. The moment I realized that th e reason my events weren't working is because I'm emplying an anti-lag script that makes them not work off screen.

And I spent like an hour going over the event code to see if I could fix it... Glad to know that I'm not alone though.

  5. Just got a set of PX21. Everything is so clear now. :D

  6. Update: Made a topic for this with more information and a link. Anyone is free to take a look at it and any help with figuring out the hiccup in it would be greatly appreciated. Topic is here: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/17844-chase-event-debugging/#entry122022

I probably made a mess of it somehow because I was playing around with it.

No problem. I'll have an upload for you in around 15-20min

      It's done

  7. Is anyone willing to debug my chase system? I seem to have a strange skipping event to it that's causing some odd events to go down? I can link a demo of what I have so far via PM. :D

you dont have a thread about it yet? sounds interesting

      >.< I thought it would he redundant to have the incomplete system hanging around. It's the simple chase event system that ANJR helped me with a tutorial on yesterday. I just have to work the kinks out.

ah I see. Why not make another post on that thread about it? I'll look at it there maybe~

  8. The game is slowly coming together. New updates: • Monster chase eventing solved. Thank you AJNR for your great tutorial/walk through. • More mapping. The door that should not be opened has been added. • Sprite revamp. Belmont looks more like Belmont. • Tileset/puzzle updates. These are linked. I'm working on a new puzzle system that encourages and sometimes requires switching between the two main characters for more practical reasons. • Character bios. Most of these are done now, only a couple characters left to go until all of the story is pieced together. Current conquests: • All 4-5 endings. I know where it's going but the logistics need to be set in stone. • Complete mapping. I'm getting very close, but the house keeps growing.
  9. My monster finally can and will chase you! Thank you AJNR!

No problem, I'm glad that you actually read the whole thing. It was a pain of a reply lol. Everything was off the top of my head.

Greatly appreciated though. I have issues and work better reading or doing hands on then trying to follow a video. It was a real life saver for my game.

No problems, if you have any issues or want any help that involves Eventing - feel free to tell me.

      I'm always available - sadly

    Multi-map Chase Event

Thank you soo much for this. This guide is much easier to follow than the tutorial I was trying to work with. With this and a few mods it is currently set up to tell the distance, spawn according to the difference in distance, not chase if maps switch and it is too far behind, and also will start random spawn again if it has been "lost" or chase ended. This is exactly what I needed to get one of the main functions in my game going. Thank you very much! Resolved.
  11. I'll be frank. I'm a little slow with certain things. This eventing/scripting issue would be one of them: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/17756-multi-map-chase-event/

  12. Xyster

    Just saying hello.

Welcome to the forums! I don't know much about scripting myself. (I'm bad with certain things and that seems to be one of them) However, there are some nice tutorials/scripts available on the site. I would start by checking ou the forums below for more information. Scripts: http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/forum/76-rmvx-ace-rgss3/ Toturials:http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/forum/69-ruby-school-for-thought/ You should be able to find a good start with those. If you need specific help there are lots of awesome people around that have been very helpful so far. Again, welcome to the forums and best of luck with your game!
  13. Has anyone else played Xenoblade? I just restarted it and am loving it as much as I did the first time. Hardly put it down all weekend.

Wow that's a pretty solid recommendation. I'll have to take the time to check it out!

I really hope you enjoy it if you do check it out. Seriously the only game that's come so close to pulling tears from me. That and some of the scenery and scope... I'd really like to get some feed back from other people that have played it sometime.

*tears recently. I can't edit or I would fix that.

  14. Revised sprites and tilesets. Managed to scare myself while playtesting agian. >.>

  15. Just got a chance to watch the video (was at work earlier and well, no speakers) I like the mix of humor and the display of some of the puzzles and more views of the mapping. Definitely reinforced the fact that the maps look very nice. I think you've managed to strike that balance between too cluttered and empty quite well. I also like the way the maps seem more alive because you have movement on them with the animals and such. Are those just for look or is it a enemy-on-map style battle system where you see the enemy before initiating combat? The relationship system sounds good. It's something I like to see in games, where there are actually consequences for your actions. If you do bad things or tick people off, it can come back to bite you later. Quick other question, is Maeve a male or female? The name is neutral enough that I can't tell just from that and am curious to see the character diversity among your male characters. Finally, I must say that from what I've seen the game seems to be quite polished. I would never have guessed that you were only about 1/4 of the way through. I really hope to see where this is going.
