Tried making a chase scene, ended up breaking the entire chapter. How did THAT happen?!

You know you've messed up web design and bad when even your own userbase cannot browse your site without getting violent migraines and vertigo.

Okay, I get it. Kamikakushi's not my best game, I know. We can't all defend our first (finished and published) game. I guess I was wrong to assume people knew about Japanese and Korean mythology...
Here's hoping You, Me and Nothing More doesn't alienate our target demographic.

The main complaint I get is that the portraits are too "modern" for post WW2 Japan. I've been trying to find face portraits for both Ueno and Yamazawa that don't make them look like brothers. And since the site I get my portraits from has a strict rule about recoloring, I can't do too much about that.

Eh? There is an anime about a team of adventurers in a fantasy world who basically do reviews of girls of various fantasy species who work in brothels? WHY WAS I NOT TOLD OF THIS SOONER!?

Yay, I made a sprite... of a sprite!
You see, sprites are fairy-like nature spirits. This one is a cute nature spirit of autumn!
Edit: Better side animation, no ember things.

I'm at my wit's end. I've lost sleep, starved myself, sacrificed so much time and energy to two friends of mine and they never once returned the favor.
Should I cut ties and kick them off my proverbial planet? I don't know anymore.

Finally got some progress done before it started storming. I make a habit to never program during a thunderstorm. I found that out the hard way when I lost all the dialogue I had during MoS's post-game final boss.
-
Oof... That's what I get for letting depression run my decisions. Deleted all traces of one puzzle in my game.... =3= Then again, I'm still 100% unsure whether or not to have in there in the first place.

The one person who wants to translate Kamikakushi and I accidentally misclick and lose their contact info completely. FML...

It was one of the better (if not the best) video game movie I've seen. The plot is geared more towards kids, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. (I'm a kid at heart).
I personally enjoyed all the minute details, such as the cameo of Red and Candela and the Dialga, Palkia and Arceus statue in one character's office.

Yes, people. I'm aware Kamikakushi sucks. We can't all defend our first piece of creative writing/gaming. (Even though, technically it's not my first game)Besides, the game is loosely based off an actual horror story out there. One I didn't write. I am planning on cranking out an update that fixes all the errors and revises the dialogue, so I beg of you:Please. Stop. Telling me. That I suck. Or you won't get anymore games from me.

Calling a legit blind god a chuunibyou, criticizing the face graphics (I'm fixing it, goddammit), the villain's too predictable (again, the revised dialogue fixed that), why there's a Korean kumiho in an otheriwse Japanese setting (he's a fugitive on the lamb), why the clothes look modern-ish for a post ww2 Japan (not everyone wore kimonos, y'know)... Things like that.
It's almost making me go "what's the point of updating a game some people hate?" even though there are those who like the bittersweet story.

So many ideas, but none fit yet... I've been reading a bunch of horror stories to try and inspire me.
Protip: do NOT look up Korean urban legends. I consider myself an avid horror fan, but this gets a hard "NOPE" from me.

Kamikakushi is now 100% finished! FINALLY! It feels like so long... Thank you for being patient with me.
As always, please tell me if you encounter any errors I may have missed.
Without further ado, please enjoy this tale of youkai. Fufufu~-
@PhoenixSoul Our studio actually DOES have an itch.io. So far, it's just for one of our major projects.

Was playing around a bit and created a nice firefly effect in game. I personally love how it turned out.
It's kinda hard to tell from a static image, but the fireflies move around.
-
@Kayzee I have the glowing orbs set to fly around a bit diagonally. Since the original image didn't allow 4 way movement, I kinda had to put direction fix on so it looks like a firefly.

I did read one short story I thought would make a rather interesting game plotbunny: basically, some Joe Schmoe wakes up in his own apartment with amnesia because of an incident that happened several months prior.
Now, here's the interesting part: his amnesia relapses whenever he experiences intense stress. So he's in a constant samsara of remembering and forgetting his wife's murder. Or maybe that's just my love of fine mystery/horror speaking.

Is that an inkling I see? Cuuuute! *snuggles*
-
Yup. A friend of mine linked an Inkling avatar maker in a chat I lurk at. Several of my friends, my girlfriend included, got in on the fun.

Goodness, the fae folk are terrifying. There's a lot of potential for horror games there in those stories...

Boog... I'm drawing a blank when it comes to how to revise one doll puzzle in game. I don't want to axe it, but I can't think of any ideas that hasn't been done before or make sense with the setting (1940's Japan) and fit the whole Japanese mythology theme.
-
@Kayzee the clue to the doll puzzle was in the doll room next to the large creepy doll. Man, I really need to make that more noticeable...
Though, I have to admit... In its current stage, it's pretty obscure and just says the dates WHEN they were killed as a clue instead of describing the murdered kid.
EDIT Aaaaaaand, done. Now, the diary describes the murdered kids (with the doll flavor text to match).
