Sure, it may not matter in the end, but separating the facts from the fodder will aid society in being better.

It might aid society in being better if such a thing were actually possible. But as far as I can tell it's not. Try as you might, what people think of as 'the facts' and what people think of as 'the fodder' will always and forever be a matter of opinion.

I honestly feel like the reverse is more true, that the way to aid society in being better is to get people to think critically and acknowledge that their opinion might simply be wrong. And in fairness, that means I have to admit I may be wrong about that. But I don't think so!
