All right. I have 30 characters total in my game. This include npcs, playable characters, and the antagonist. I want to make each of them unique and memorable. Could I get some tips from your guys' personal experiences with this? (I already have most of the things required for a character down for my main protagonist. Heres some info for the curious about her: -she is the mother of a child who will have extraordinary powers, from both her and the father. -strives to protect people, motivated by the incident where her daughter was nearly killed by a dangerous monster -shes a strong leader I also got some basic things for other characters, like one being jealous of the main character)

I'd apreciate exact names AND rough ideas, whatever people can offer, really. Yeah, I do realize that. Catchy and non-repetitive is what I'm looking for. Imo for regular mob battles I'm thinking something like the wild battle music from Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs or DPPt. I'm not sure if I'll have a series of bosses besides the third major one, but I will keep that in mind! Thanks for the tip. And I can't compose for shit so I'm using video game music. :^)

Now, I dont have RPG Maker yet, but I DO have an idea of a game, including characters, setting, plot, and mechanics. Until I do get the program, I'm gathering ideas. Right now I want to focus on the music, getting the most important ones out of the wah first. I'm asking you guys what music you would reccomend for the bosses and special mobs. Here's what I need/have so far. -The general boss theme : n/a -Ghoul battle : n/a -Major boss #1 (Infected/Ghoul Tyrannosaurus) : n/a -Major boss #2 (infected/Ghoul Liopleuridon) : n/a, considering something like Lugia's battle theme from HG/S -Major boss #3 Phase 1 (Quetzalcoatlus) : n/a -Major boss #3 Phase 2 (Infected/Ghoul Quetzalcoatlus) : n/a, considering a remix of UN Owen Was Her, especially the orchestrated version -Final boss (Archoghoul/Alpha Ghoul) : Crisis from Xenoblade Chrinicles, accepting reccomendations PS: can't decide on Archoghoul or Alpha Ghoul. Archo means ruling, which would be "ruling ghoul", but Alpha could also work.

I'll definitely make a journal for that, thank you for the suggestion! And yeah, I'm working on culture and lore and all that fancy stuff. I think something that I'll work on are the characters and npcs, because due to there only being three villages, i don't have too many of them so I can efficiently give them all unique personalities. All of the characters that can be teammates will all function differently in battle, too. Speaking of characters, the main character is a mother styracosaurus (looks a little different, but is pretty similar to the triceratops, if you were wondering what it is) who's daughter was attacked and nearly killed by a monster, who she then defeats. After the encounter, her daughter is bed-ridden so she can recover. Meanwhile, the guard-patrol-idrk-peoples recognize her bravery and give her an invitation to join and protect the village(s). She accepts and the story progresses from there ig and the Ghouls come in eventually

Another thing I should mention is: the characters are... Dinosaurs. Not exactly dinosaurs, for they are all the same size and have a high enough inteligence to make civilization, but theyre dinosaurs. The monsters are ACTUAL dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, and many of them tower over the main characters and npcs. Then I have Ghouls, which are an undead, raptor-like species that bite and infect the monsters and can use magic. I'm afraid that the whole dinosaur thing will discourage people, so I want to make the plot and gameplay as good as possible...

I don't think I'll have the mystery dungeons that change every time you enter them. I think I'll have a separate map, which is a wide path surrounded by thick vegetation that wraps around the border of the village (of course it would change for each village you are at). Random encounters would uccur here and you'd be able to grind. Other locations can be accessed, they are outside the village and are overworld-like, most lead to dungeons or temples or a separate wilderness. (One idea I have for a location like this is a rocky shoreline where an old woman wanders around with some magic stick trying to suck the mana from the water feeding into the ocean, which gets the mana from underground. I'm thinking this shore could allow the player to access a passing glacier to slay a boss.) There are a few other things different, too, as your party consists of a group of 5, and all the characters are non-magical and use stamina instead of mp/mana. The old woman mentioned is using an enchanted stick/branch to prevent the mana from getting into the ocean where monsters will absorb it.

Thank you so much!!

I've had the idea for a long time, without really knowing where the inspiration truly came from. The main village with shops and npcs/innactive party members that has the surrounding area be complete wilderness, which is where the player and their party of specific teammates would patrol each in-game day to slay monsters and protect the town. After the player is done patrolling, it would be a new day. The game counts the days and plot events will uccor accordingly (a member of the patrol team needing to be rescued after being ambushed by a strong enemy that will appear frequently and wreak havoc, a monster breaks into the village and wounds npcs, new shops get built, the player is sent out to destroy monster eggs which results in a boss battle, etc). Three villages total, one for land-bound citizens, one for water-bound citizens, and another for avians, which all have pathes that connect them, but are very dangerous because of the monsters. As I was replaying PMD Gates to Infinity, it suddenly struck me that my mind had wandered to the series consistently while I planned and I didn't even realize it. TL;DR: Do you guys think a PMD-esque game would be enjoyable? I can share more details about how battle would play out, the plot so far, and the characters if it's needed. ((No, I do not have RPG Maker. When I get the money and the time I certainly will buy it and learn basic code.))

Hello, I just got rpg maker vx ace (lite) today to kind of test things out for an idea I have. The game would take place in some sort of prehistoric time, now I'm not going to be accurate when because I'll include as many dinosaurs possible, even if they're from a different time period or place. t a large forest that houses many civilized, tiny dinosaurs, around as tall as a grown man. The main character is a mother Styracosaurus (I recommend looking up any dinosaur names I saw) named Elisabeth. The story starts when Elisabeth is out in the forest with her daughter after being told the area was free of wild dinosaurs. During their time there, A T-rex suddenly attacks Elisabeth daughter from behind. A fight breaks out and Elisabeth wins the fight by user a special skill she didn't know she had. The T-rex runs away and drops her daughter. Since then she joins the patrol to protect her village from wild dinosaurs while her daughter is hospitalized. Hopefully that gives an Attack on Titan/Warrior Cats vibe to it.... You would take members from the village out with you on patrol where you would walk around, battling real dinosaurs in order to gain exp and level up. As the story progresses stronger dinosaurs wander into the forest and you can take more teammates with you. In the village you can use the shop and the forge to sell, buy and craft items that you can use on patrol. The events consist of teammates being wounded, dinosaurs raiding the village, search-and-rescue missions, etc. Five dinosaurs, including Elisabeth, have a special power called a Spirit Skill that can summon a tsunami, make the user attack at the speed of sound, heal all allies to near perfect condition.... You get the point. What do you think about this? Would the patrol feature work? How hard do you think this might be for a newbie such as myself? What RPG Maker functions will I have to use a lot/master? I appreciate feedback. That is all!
