    Sound Of The Web relaunch

This is interesting, I'll admit, but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to straight up advertise on this board.

battlers I'd like to see what you guys think!

Thanks! I had never heard of Cyriak till now, I think he'll prove to provide a lot of inspiration. His art really resonates with me. lol, I'm glad someone shares my sense of humor.

    Easter Egg Ideas?

Your code idea is a good one, but as you said, the Internet can create a way around that. My response to that would be to create a script that creates codes, sort of like how there are certain programs that create CD crack codes. To emulate that exactly would be kinda sorta basically insane, but you could probably do it by limiting what characters can go where (for example, only QWERTY as the first character, ASDFGH as the second, etc.) and then having them register the code online, making that unique character null after being submitted. So long as you create enough probabilities for your demographic (ex: 1,000,000 for a demographic of 1,000, creating a 0.001% chance for overlap), then you could have them make an account/profile with their (almost) unique codes. Once they've sent you all three codes with some basic information from them (ex: Name, Birthday, Country + State/Province), they'd be set to go. You could do this quite easily through e-mail. This would also prove to be a good time to ask questions or give a survey directly to your target demographic. I don't know much of anything about scripting, but it's certainly an idea! Also, you'd need to find someone with a greater knowledge of probability than me to figure out how to create the odds necessary, but it would take less than you would imagine.

    Saving everywhere or restricting saving?

I suppose in the end, it's really all up to you, the designer, but I really like being able to save anywhere and everywhere, like in the menu in Pokemon or Minecraft. I find only being able to serve in points can prove to be effective in adding difficulty and tension (such as in The Escapists), but can also potentially just add a lot of grief and frustration, too. It's all a matter of preference, really. Both can prove to be effective.

lol, cool, dude! I just messaged you. We'll exchange emails through there.
  6. Hey, So I made a bunch of battlers using public domain/free to redistribute pictures - I wanted to know what you guys think. Also, if you happen to know anyone who does similar work to this, I would love to get in contact with them to trade resources and stuff. Animals Bosozoku RMoney Ladybug Boss Series

    Hi!

Wow, it's a small world after all, haha! I think you'll like Ottawa, it's really nice. What University are you going to, if you don't mind me asking? I'll be going to Carleton University in Ottawa in the fall for Music to become a music teacher. lol, well, Australia is very safe in terms of crime and whatnot, but the wildlife there is craaazy. My cousin Ross went out there for a while, and apparently a common prank to pull is to put a dead tarantula on the door handle or over top of the TV remote or similar. He even found a tarantula chilling underneath the lid of the toilet seat! I've never been, but if you don't like bugs, I may suggest against it. X)

King Madness, your piece is quite nice. I think something I might suggest, though, is that you put your flute an octave or two higher, that way things are less mushed together on the bass end. It would also make it a lot more pronounced and whimsical. :3 Here are the few pieces I've managed to do on Famitracker - I'm keeping it simple with effects and similar, but please tell me what you think!

I'm surprised nobody has brought up Famitracker yet. Famitracker is a music sequencer that lets you make NES-style tracks with a little bit of practice. Also, it's freeeee~ Here's the website - http://www.famitracker.com/ If you want an example of what it can do, look up "famitracker" and almost any pop song on YouTube. Anamanaguchi's album Dawn Metropolis used it quite heavily as well. Hope this helps!

Man, I just love The Monster Of Your Choice! Great job! I may ask you if I can use that in one of my future projects, it's just so great.
  15. Wow, this really looks fantastic! I can't wait to play the full version once it comes out. From the looks of it you've really outdone yourself.
