So for my game I'm currently working on an escort quest. For those of you who don't know what that means, it's basically a quest where you protect an npc from oncoming threats and monsters while guiding them to a certain area. My problem is that I don't know how to make the game end once two events occupy the same space/area. For example, the npc is on a set path and the monsters are 'attacking' the npc. So here are my two questions. 1: Is there a way to make one event follow the other? 2: How would I trigger a game over when one event touched the other? If there's scripts for this I'd love to know, but I'd prefer to do it without scripts. Thanks for the help! -

So currently, I'm working on my game once again. I took a little break cause of moving and schoolwork, but I'm back into RPG maker again. I've been working on an escort quest - a quest where your character follows an NPC and must stop monsters from reaching it. If each monster was an event, and the NPC is an event, would there be a way to make it so that if one event touches the other, it would trigger an animation and then a game over, without the use of scripts? Thanks for the help! -

The plane I just googled 'rpg maker vx ace biplane sprites' if I remember right. If need be I can make my own sprites but it takes a ridiculously long time and they turn out strange sometimes, so these biplanes are really important. -

She said these are edits. They're just converted to match VX. I meant the original sprite creators. Thanks for the quick reply though! let me know if you figure anything else out. -
I've spent the last few hours looking for sprites for a project I've been working on. Although I finally found some, I can't seem to find the creator's names. The internet's a really big place and I'd rather not get in trouble for copyright reasons when I release the game. Does anyone have any strategies for finding the authors of sprites or know who created the sprites below? Also whether or not they can be used commercially?

You ever thought about making some larger monster sprites, where they have the walking animations and aren't just standing there? I know a lot of people have been looking for those lately (Myself included). It's really hard to find good "large monster sprites."

Thanks for all the help everyone! One thing I've noticed about RPG maker's community is that everyone really likes to help one another out. It's great! And I'll definitely look into those sites you guys mentioned! Once I finish any more maps I'll post them. I need all the help I can get, honestly. And you guys are exactly what I needed. -

I tried making the trees lighter, posted a third screenshot. The resource pack I'm using isn't exactly the greatest, but it's working somewhat. As for getting custom resources, I've found that too many people use the same 'free' modified tilesets. It's hard finding something unique without actually making your own. However this hasn't stopped me, and in future maps I plan on using more custom resources. This part of the game is actually just part of the tutorial section where you're introduced to the characters and the story. If you have any ideas on where to find either large dark trees or bright small trees, let me know and I'll try to look! Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you like the map. It's nice hearing good comments about my work after only owning rpg maker for a about a month and a half. EDIT: Also this place is a common trade route. But thanks for advice on the path, that will actually come in handy a bit later on in my game. -

I put up the edited screenshot! Hope it's an improvement - I edited the ridge a little bit so it's not as straight, and I added in some flowers for color. I also tried to make a few smaller hills attached to the larger cliff face to give it a bit more depth. Thanks for the feedback, this is my first time trying to map something like this haha! EDIT: By the way you were completely right about the cliffs. I was trying to figure out a way to make them look more natural. I like the new look much better. -
So I've been messing around with RPG maker vx ace. Nothing serious up until this point. Now I'm finally attempting to create a marketable game, but we'll have to see how things turn out. This is my first attempt at mapping a large-scale forest. Any advice?

Alright, I didn't realize I was using an entirely different script. The person who gave me this link called it something completely different. I'll do some research, maybe I just accidently downloaded the wrong stuff XD Out of curiosity could I have a link to the actual battle symphony script? I haven't been able to find a working link. I think it'd be easier then just trying to figure out what's wrong with a script that I didn't even realize I was using lol EDIT: Hey man, thanks for your help. I found the right script and now everything is working fine. You have no idea how much of a help you've been. Thanks to you I can finally stop focusing on the combat in my game and get to the story. Excellent script! Again, thanks for helping out a newbie like me. -

So here's the scripts I'm using. Yanfly's Ace Battle Engine Yanfly's Core Engine Yanfly's Visual Battlers As for sprite sheets and notes, I'm using the default sprites. I'm using custom sprites created by myself and the character generator, but they all have the same dimensions and are just walking animations. I have no other note tags. Again, thank you so much for trying to help me. I know a lot of people who would just turn a blind eye. I really like the rpg maker community, it's been extremely helpful to me.
