  1. Thank you for the quick reply! My only question is how to implement it then. Here's what I did: $game_variables[0005] = $game_party.members.find_all {|m| m.class_id == [5]}.size I Set the 0005 Variable I added the conditional branch for if the Variable is >=1 Text will say Worked if not it'll say Not Working. Currently can't get it to say Worked, haha.
  2. Hello everyone, I have a question that seems like it should be really easy and I'm over looking something. I want to create a variable or something for a conditional branch that verify the type of classes in a party. I could easily make an event to check every actor, but that seems unnecessary complicated, especially if I have a good chunk of characters. So I want to make an event(or script if I'd have to) that could tell if there were 1 warrior in the party, or even 4 warriors in the party. I've tried using this script in "$data_classes[001]# = 1", to no avail and have also looked around the web. Either I'm not typing in the right question or no one does this sort of thing often, haha. Any insight or help would be great! Thanks you!
  3. Hey all, I'm in sort of bind. I haven't been in the RPGMVXA pool in awhile so I'm a little rusty. Anyways, I'm making a game where you play as a "god" and long story short, I want this god to be able to cast skills/spells during battle, but also not be substantial to the fight. Basically, I'd it's presence to be unnoticed by enemies and the game. Where if the rest of the regular party dies, you get a game over or whatever, but the god won't be an actual player on the field. Just a vessel to cast stuff? Hope that makes sense! Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I've tried using states and classes to make em invincible, but I'm wondering if It's possible to make a non-targetable player character without scripts? Cause at that point, I'm at a loss!

Lots of great technical skill being showed here! I'd love to that gundam use some more free form line and less straight edge to make it feel more natural and weighted! Right now since all the lines are very uniform and consisting of the same weight, it feels a little stiff.

When I used Sai, I'd typically just avoid using things like paintbuckets or selection tools for areas with edges! Depending on what your doing though, there may be a work around! For instance, if your trying to change the color of lineart, you can just activate the "preserve opacity" button in a layer and freely recolor an area or whatever is in the layer without having to select it.

Loving the change in style from the big-headed chibis to your current! They feel much more impact as characters when the head isn't the entire focal point! Also saves room for more variation in posing which does wonder for visual personalities! Keep it up!

Oh yeah, one thing I wasn't clear of, was how your battle sprites would be placed on the screen. One thing I see in all your sprites thus far is everyone is looking to the left, while their bodies are pointed in the opposite direction! Fighting practicality wise, unless every single one of them is a master of reading movements and dodging, it's kind of awkward to have your main asset(fists or weapons) facing away from your opponents(which I assume are on the left) or not ready to block from the incoming direction. Ofcourse this kind of thing is only important if your doing a side-view battle system. Otherwise forget I said anything! But as far as variation goes, try not to fall into too many same-poses and mix it up in direction!

I think a great way to study poses is look at fighting games. They do a pretty good job at making stances varied from eachother so one persons standing idle, is not the same as anothers.

I get ya! Pixels are a whole new beast to me as well! But as long as you treat your pixels in the same way you would your drawings it'll turn out good! I definitely found a lot of helpful information in this website: http://2dwillneverdie.com/tutorial/

Pretty great looking sprites! I like size and detail you put into them. I think you could take them much further though! At the moment what stands out to me the most is your lighting. It doesn't really have a clear distinct direction to it, so it's flatting out your characters a good deal! I'm also concerned about a lot of the hard edges on your characters that stand art. What I mean by that is the lines that stay very square and unnatural compared to the rest of of them. Like the decal on your female leads shirt:

I dig in your process(or atleast in that particular timelapse) that you work with your rough, instead of lining over it! It's really effective at keeping the same energy you had in your rough.

Everything here is so awesome! I especially love the rendering in your misc piece of the women! The light blue outline gives this really great reflective light/luminescent quality.

Pretty cute stuff! Think I like the proportions of the third one the most! Something about it is so nice to look at!
