  1. How bizarre. I restarted my computer and now it works! I don't know what that did, but I'll take it! Thanks for the advice, Flashy, on the other thing, though!
  2. I'm actually pretty proud of what I was able to come up with, if only because of my limited digital art skills and modest knowledge on adequate logo design. However, I would very much like to hear what you guys and gals think of it. I have a transparent version that's a black logo, and as you can see, one set against a black background so I could use a white version of the logo. I hope this is at least competent to you folks! Thanks for looking at my topic!
  3. That makes a lot more sense. I should have guessed there was a reason for all that, but you never know! Sounds and looks really interesting!
  4. That's what I like about this community. You're here for me! Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to see about altering the logo.
  5. Thank you so much, Nirwanda! Now, let's both laugh at my first attempt back in June! I think I've come a long way. hehe
  6. I didn't know if it would be best to just share a link to my Bandcamp page for my Songs of Legends of Adrigal soundtrack or post all of the songs individually. For now, I'm going to do the former, but if you need or prefer that I do the latter, just let me know. I am nowhere near a professional composer. It's a hobby more than anything. I mean, I have taken some music theory classes (most of which I don't even remember haha), but that's pretty much it. I'd love to get some feedback on my current listing of songs. Which ones work? Which don't, but could be improved to DO work? Things like that. Here is the link to my Bandcamp page for my RPG soundtrack. https://philstortzum.bandcamp.com/album/songs-of-legends-of-adrigal Thank you ahead of time for anyone who takes the time to listen to even just one song-- heck, just for visiting this topic, thanks!
  7. Yeah, the windows in the front hall are really bewildering. Maybe put up portraits, posters, or something like that instead of you would like something to be on the walls so they aren't empty. One of the windows would be half looking into the one room and half looking into the wall of the room above it. You might have a reason for this design decision, though, so that would be interesting to read what it is. Chaosian brought up my other issues. However, it's a nice start.
  8. That's perfect! Thank you so much! I have your user name now in my notes so I credit you properly! Just let me know if you're interested in knowing anything about the game your title screen will be a part of! I'll be happy to share stuff with you!
  9. Hello everyone! I wish I had the skills to create my own title screen, but I simply don't have the skills. I'm wanting a title screen set against a black background. Looking for something simple, with the logo at the top of the screen, and in the center of the screen, a yellow chenille letter "C", like what would be on a varsity jacket in the middle of a spotlight, like so: I don't have the adequate software or skills to do this myself, so any help would be appreciated. I hope this isn't too much of an arduous task, so if it is, let me know and I'll try to come up with something simpler. These are my logos I created with the limited experience I have with logo design and Inkscape. I think they turned out not too bad. I like how simple they are, at least. I have included both a black letter transparent logo and a white letter logo set against a black background. You can feel free to use these, or to design a more professional-looking logo based on this design. Thanks to everyone who passed by this topic, and a special thanks if you have interest in helping!
  10. Cool! I'm glad it seemed to be fun then if it seemed to go by fast! Would you be interested in adding like a thin layer to the letter so it's slightly thicker (but still really thin) like my earlier post noted?
  11. Awesome! Glad I could be your first request! I can tell you'll have a great future taking requests! hehe I really love it! If I wanted to be a perfectionist, it'd be to make the varsity letter have a little thickness to it. Just a slight thickness. It looks like a paper cutout of a letter C. haha Other than that, this is perfect. I hope it didn't take too much of your time to do!
  12. Oh my goodness! That's so beautiful! And it's immensely kind that you took the time to do this for a total stranger, and SO FAST, too! If anything for this, I think maybe the spotlight is a bit too bright (that's okay, as all said was to use a spotlight and didn't specify how bright it should be, but then again, I just had a VERY slight visual picture in my mind of what I wanted. heh), and the letter C looks like it's propped up more than I'd like. It looks like it's just tilted currently at an angle and real flat rather than at an angle that creates depth, if that makes any sense. It just needs to tinkered with ever-so-slightly though. However, you only had my "fantastic" MS Paint concept to go off, and perhaps I didn't go into enough detail for that in my original post, so I apologize for that! Nonetheless, you really nailed the overall look I was envisioning. Regardless, I must say it again, thank you a lot, Alphys Hedge, for helping me so far. I hope it helped you fine hone your own art skills, and I hope it was fun to do. If you can just make those very slight alterations, I think it will be perfect. Also, if you feel a desire to place your name in the bottom corner like a signature, just me know. One more also, please let me know how you would like to be credited in my game. Working on a good portion of my game is part of my senior overview for college, so I intend to finish this rather than just quitting like a lot of projects can sadly end up. I want you to get the credit you definitely deserve!
  13. I'm using a quasi-item system to promote return to explored areas that had inaccessible areas to them, and with the use of new items acquired, the player can return to these areas and explore these areas. There are also more general ways like plenty of treasure chests to uncover, which is always fun. I also like mentioning rumors from NPCs like you noted of special areas in the world.
  14. Hi all. If anyone can help out in assisting me in somehow getting these backgrounds for these sprite sheets transparent, I'd really appreciate it or any guidance. Thanks!
  15. Great minds think alike! That's the video I encountered and found! hehe Thanks!
  16. Thanks for the post! Do you have a link to the video you're talking about? I think that would be quite helpful.
  17. I'm at a crossroads at development of my RPG, and I'm wanting to do a side view battle system, as that's the type I prefer in RPGs. I'm just wondering how difficult this would be to implement, as I don't know much about scripting. I'm wanting to design some enemies, but the directions the monsters would face depends on the battle perspective. Obviously, in a Dragon Quest-like system, the enemies would face forward, while a side battle view would have them facing left or right. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, all!
  18. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I was just wondering if it'd be worth upgrading to RPG Maker MV, and if so, if the work I've done for my game in RPG Maker VX Ace would at all carry over to the new program? What kinds of things would and wouldn't carry over? Thanks for taking the time to read my question, and I look forward to the responses whenever you guys and gals have the time to create them.
  19. Oh, I definitely won't be doing the battle system from scratch! hehe I'll check out Jet's SBS for sure, as I do want to make my game as worthwhile as possible. Plus, I don't want to start creating monsters that are facing forward when they should be facing to the side with the SBS. Thanks!
  20. Thanks, Rikifive, for this information. Since it seems beyond my grasp, I'll just do the standard system available in RPG Maker VX Ace, and try to sweeten up my game in other aspects instead! Oh, and this is what I mean when I talk about a Dragon Quest battle perspective. Note the enemies facing the screen with no party members on the screen.
  21. I made a game that involves pushing boulders and other objects to reach the goal of levels. This was done in Game Maker, but I was wondering if for the sequel it'd be possible to make it in RPG Maker VX Ace due to me being more comfortable with that program and not needing as much coding expertise. For some things I'd need for the game: - I'd need boulders to be able to be pushed into holes, thus creating filled in holes that the player can walk across. - I'd need boulders that can only be pushed once. This trailer for the first game should give you guys a general idea of what the gameplay is like: Would this be possible in RPG Maker VX Ace? Thanks, all!
  22. Thanks for this, AlliedG! I'll look into this for sure now and when I get my game from the concept phase to the development phase. Some other questions about what's possible in RPG Maker VX Ace: - Can I get an NPC/enemy to move boulders as well? - Can I have it where pushing one thing allows other things to be pushed in the same direction? Sort of like if you moved two pawns on a chessboard, they would both move forward. - Can the player kick a boulder into obstacles and other objects? I'm going to come up with different level gimmicks, so I'll share those ideas as they arrive in my head. Thanks for your help so far, everyone. I really appreciate the community we have here.
  23. Thanks, Vectra. I haven't decided on if I'll be using RPG Maker VX Ace for this new project or not, but if I do, I'll definitely contact you!
  24. Sounds good so far. Here are some other things I'd want to be able to do. No point starting the game in RPG Maker VX Ace if I can't do most things, after all! I'd also want: - Boulders to be pushed on buttons to open doors, - Buttons that when stepped on, open a door for a limited time. - Enemy movement patterns. I haven't used variables in RPG Maker VX Ace before, but I can always learn. Thanks for the advice so far, lonequeso. I truly appreciate it!
