I just did a bunch of playing around with it, and figured out how to make it work like I wanted it to. I'm not sure how to close or delete a thread once it has been resolved. But it's resolved.

Hello all, I'm looking to make something as simple as grabbing something like a flower on the ground, and after a few moments, it comes back and is able to be grabbed again. I'm not sure what would make it loop or how to accomplish that because I don't quite understand how to use 'loop'. I would like to make my own without using a plugin or anything. If anyone knows how to do this without needing a plugin, the help would be grand! c:

Ah! In plain sight. Thank you for your quick response, I got it.

Well so far it seems that MV is proving its price. I've been giving it some hard thought to buying it, and just transferring some of the things I've already finished in Ace and implement them into MV. I've just recently found parallax mapping videos for MV, so this is getting a thumbs up so far.

As I said before, no, it'a not the plugins themselves. I used the word "expansive" as a general term for scripts, music, etc. However, the scripts play an important part to making it function the way you want it to, and more specifically(for me) the battle system is already a step ahead in MV. My point was that I don't want to just be sold on a few minor upgrades that MV has when Ace could still be the one that most people settle with. And in turn, buying MV for me would be pointless. I'm not stuck on the scripts themselves, and I should have clarified better in my first post, so I apologize. And referring to your post, Traverse, learning to script is a good idea.

Well I didn't necessarily mean that to sound like the scripts themselves would make MV bigger than Ace by comparison. What I more so meant, was the ideas that many developers had for Ace that made it seem so large and the effort that people put into making the amount of scripts they did and sharing those ideas, whether they be asked for or not, potentially gave ideas to people to add more into their own game. Thus, making for a lively, and further ongoing effort to completing a project and with their ideas combined with others. And the more that cycle is completed, the more people stay drawn into looking for more and completing more projects and fresh ideas. My concern was that, if people aren't going to get that in depth with MV and stick to it, I wouldn't want to buy it, and it never reach the potential that Ace has. I hope that makes more sense. :b

So it's been awhile since I've been active on the forums for RPGM, but my job has essentially made me a robot the last 2 months or so. Anyways, I've looked around a bit and couldn't found out how to do this. Say I enter a room, and upon entering or maybe even taking 1 or 2 steps in that area, an event triggers as I've touched the desired square and from a short distance away, the charcter that I want to approach me is triggered by that. How do I make this happen? I coudn't figure out how to work this because if you make an event trigger in one location, how would that instantly trigger the other event(which would be the character that approaches me) as well? I'm sure there's a simple solution, but a quick bullet or two would suffice.

Thank you for your reply, 1imaddoc. Even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, it is close and I may actually try that. However, do you know if that script can be combined with a menu customizing script that allows your menu to say, look, and have different designs and backgrounds? What I mean is, how that script grants the image with the details, and also another page layout via menu to the items with extra categories, to be added with a script that allows you to customize the look and design of your script. Or if Yanfly's Menu Item script comes as a whole with the layout and design?

Hey forum! Invexus here! So I've had RPGMVXA for about 6 months or so now and honestly haven't done much with it other than some mapping and putting some new ideas on paper. I didn't even discover this forum until only a few months ago as well as the other RPGM forums and some for any general gaming community because it never hit me until I realized that Steam had a rather large group; at least it seemed as such. BUT in regards to that introduction, you guys are great and I just wanted to properly make a knowing here. One of my favorite RPGs of all time is Final Fantasy 7 that I first played when I was about 9 or 10, and since then my crave to make a game, with ideas and such an impact as that game had on me, has been with me ever since. It wasn't my first RPG, but that game was what made me want to release my ideas someday. Since then I began to expand my RPG horizons to games I hear a lot of people never even played such as Xenogears and Star Ocean The Second Story - and of course continuing the series from FF7 and even playing the older ones. I'm glad I've joined this forum and really would like to be involved in the projects and all around community starting form here! I'm not the best on scripting, but if I get to a point that it's absolutely necessary, I'll work on it. ...or hopefully get some of you guys to help out. ^^ I'll be sticking around and even after that brief introduction of my RPG upbringing, I'm always down for some game talk and also will be working on my project in the meantime! xP -Invexus "I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious."
