    Yeah, I removed event 4, and I've followed this tutorial since then, but the oni is just appearing where I place it on the map instead of relocating where the player comes through the door at. The variables aren't working or something. )since then, but now the monster is just appearing

    I did it exactly like you said, and everything looks identical, but for some reason, the oni appears in and gets stuck in the corner of the map (in the black titles)
  6. So I have this event that's supposed to chase me through different rooms, but every time I leave the piano room, the monster just appears in the corner of the hallway map and gets stuck.
  7. I'm new to RPG Maker VX Ace, but I'm making an FMA version of an Oni game and I have a question. I'm having trouble with figuring out how to get the event(the Oni) to chase the player throughout different maps (which needs to happen right after I leave the piano room). I've looked on several articles and youtube videos all of them bring up variables, but I don't understand how variables work at all or their purpose(because like I said, I'm completely new to this program). Can somebody explain in the simplest terms possible step by step how to get an event to chase you for a specific amount of time into different maps, specifically after you leave a certain map? More importantly, is it 100% necessary to use variables to successfully have event chase the player into different maps? I followed this tutorial, and Um... It's chasing me but it's not coming from the same spot the player enters the room at. And I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

    It didn't work. As soon as I entered the room the dialogue worked but after I got to the save menu and save. The screen wouldn't fade in, and it wouldn't even allow me to open the menu :/ It's like it froze.
  12. Okay, I have an auto-run event set in a room. It's suppose to start as soon as I enter the room, but the only thing it's doing is not completing, as it starts to activate with the right text but stops in the midst of the event and is making me immobile. Other times, the screen will fade I've tried so many different ways, but none of the seem to work. I had tried teleporting to that room after an event, but it only froze up, and once allowed me to open the menu but the screen wouldn't fade in, or if it completed then it would repeat a previous event, even though it had been temporarily deleted, and it's Self switch A had been turn on, and there WAS a separate page requiring Self Switch A to activate. In the scenario in the picture, it only get's to the point of 'America' saying, "England's finally here y'all, so let's get this thing done already!", and then it freezes there. It's suppose to have the character walk over to a seat. It's weird, and almost as if it's skipping certain commands. I don't get it. I really want to get this over with.   14. I now have it set where 'America' is required to be in the party, and he has been. Before, I didn't even have the party character requirement, but it still wouldn't work. :/
  15. I sort of get what you're saying, but sort of not. I have all the events set excactly like you said to, and there are 12, but when I leave the room, the event is supposed to auto-run in the hallway, but it doesn't. I have the conditional breach to the main event set as only 'Variable' is '12 or above'. Trigger is 'Auto-run', Priority is 'Below Characters', and no other conditions are on. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. :\
