Script to stop the player reselecting battle commands
haofeng93 replied to haofeng93's topic in Programming
Sorry for the slightly late response! I had a job interview so I was a little preoccupied haha. I'm not sure why I didn't think to mention the scripts I'm using before. I'm using two which have an impact on the battles, firstly I'm using Yami's PCTB, and for the actual visual side, I'm using MogHunter's Battle HUD EX. Considering the latter is 6,000 lines long, I've uploaded them both to MediaFire. I hope it's okay for me to link out to MediaFire on this forum, if not, please tell me! I tried copying in the scripts but the size of them froze the BB Code entry thing. http://www.mediafire.com/view/mdiih6mwp6uf3gi/MoghunterScript.txt - MogHunter's Script http://www.mediafire.com/view/cmsx3e0c6o7mgut/YamiScript.txt - Yami's Script I've had surprisingly little trouble using these together, even if they might not be particularly compatible with each other. But anyway, they seem to be working together okay for me! Thanks again! -
Script call for giving items based on variable ID
haofeng93 replied to haofeng93's topic in Programming
Thanks both of you! I completely forgot that lines getting cut off in script boxes makes a difference. Sorry for being kind of dumb haha. Yeah, I guess I ought to stop avoiding that for no reason and update. Thanks too! -
Script call for giving items based on variable ID
haofeng93 replied to haofeng93's topic in Programming
Thanks for your response! I tried it like this before using what little scripting knowledge I had and it returns an error about an unexpected bracket (I think?), or expecting ) instead of ]. I tried yours too just in case mine was slightly different but it still returns the same error. The exact error is: Script 'Game_Interpreter' line1411: SyntaxError occurred. unexpected tLBRACK, expecting ')' [$game_variables[24]], 1) -

Thanks so much for your support! It means a lot to hear that people like the concept and the direction I'm going in. It definitely motivates me to release something that will live up to everyone's expectations, so thanks again! -

Thanks for your feedback! but good graphic is required I'm just wondering, do you mean the graphics currently aren't very good? I'm trying to make the most of the RTP graphics but I understand that a lot of people don't like them. Also, there is an update in the main post with new screenshots and some new art, so feel free to check them out! -

06/06/2015 UPDATE - A few new screenshots added, along with some refined art for Aria in the Dev Notes! This game is a work in progress, which is in the early stages of development! If you want to cut straight to the good stuff and judge me from there, there are screenshots to see. If you are more interested in learning about the project, and me, go down to the Dev Notes where I've written some random things that you can check out. Sparrowhead and the Lost King, at a glance; Traditional RPG, modern ideas, bright art direction, original monster design, large maps, original characters, original menus, story-driven game... Finding composers is quite rare! It's very nice that you joined the community. I might not be a composer myself, but you're more than welcome to send your stuff to me and I'll give you some feedback.

Welcome! Don't worry about being some elusive 'all rounder', make something that plays to your strengths. You'll find as long as you don't try and do something you're not so good at too much, you'll enjoy the whole process of developing games a lot more fun. Obviously, dabble in other stuff from time to time, but don't get too hung up in it.

Welcome to the group (I'm new too). I used to fear stats, but I've recently taken a liking to them... Once you really understand how they work and how changing them will have an impact on your game, they're not so daunting! It'll fall into place one day!

Yeah, I played it back when I was younger, it's really such a good game. Shame about that sequel though haha

Hi everyone! I just thought I'd post a little bit about myself, even though I tend to find this kind of thing intensely awkward lol I'm Connor, from the UK. I'm a university student majoring in Chinese Language, and I've used RPG Maker for over 10 years now. My specialities are mapping and graphic design, so hopefully when I get around to posting my current project here, it'll show (although I've been told my design choices can sometimes be a bit in-your-face lol). I'm a traditional RPG kind of guy, and my favourites include Final Fantasy V, X, XIII, Persona, and Tales of. I do enjoy a wide variety of other games, such as action, horror, and visual novels. I'm a friendly guy and if you ever need me for any kind of graphic design, I'm happy to help. I hope this introduction isn't a complete mess lol
