As you can see via the name of this post, this is Guard Duty. This is a bit of a more unorthodox little thing I've been working on. It's hard to explain briefly, but I guess it's a defense based RPG upgrade thing. Upgrade skills and stats on barebones party members to survive 10 waves of enemies. The game is about an hour long, provided you win the first time you make an attempt. The story here is pretty straightforward in that there is barely any. Group of 4 people protecting a princess from invading monsters. What more is there to say? Same deal with characters. I don't think they ever actually talk once. Any way to tell which numbers correlate with which buffs?

No, I'm talking about when you go into your skill and put "Add Buff" in the Effects area.

Hello everyone, I'm Tya. As you can probably tell, I'm not exactly the most observant person. I've been using RPG Maker since the first week of it's release. There are plenty of things I still don't get, but mostly from lack of trying. I understand the engine fairly well. Though I am absolutely terrible at drawing, I can frankensprite fairly well. Mostly with XP sprites. VX ones are too chibi for my tastes. I haven't made any full, completed games yet, but I hope to soon change that. I've accepted that I have neither the patience nor the budget for a full length RPG, so I've moved on to something a bit more... my style. You'll see. Anyway, I'm happy to be here, and I hope to meet a lot of new people, et cetera.

Oh, Luck doesn't do that by default? TIL. That's more what I meant though. The whole idea of randomness. Critical hit chance. Evasion chance. etc.

Title. Do you think it's a good part of the game? Do you feel that luck in itself has little place in an RPG? Discuss. EDIT: Found out that apparently the luck stat does not directly control criticals, evasion, hit, etc. That's more what I'm talking about, the element of random chance.

Ahh, not exactly well versed when it comes to damage formulas. Wouldn't exactly call those the basics. Thanks, though.
