I'm glad, you enjoyed it! I wish there was more feedback in this thread. It's always motivating and inspiring to see what other people think of your work. I will gladly take requests! Send me a PM and we'll go from there.

I just launched a fresh soundcloud and youtube just for RPG-tracks! I'd love you to spread the word so more people can benefit from free resources! Soundcloud Youtube Also I redid the mix of some of my tracks (the ones that are curretly on soundcloud). If you've already downloaded some of them from this thread, be sure to check out the more recent versions! I also updated the first post on this tack to include the new versions of them.

Update. I included DeathPenalty to the first Post. It's a battle-theme, but i think fits intense action scenes in general. (Mix is now fixed and it loops, as opposed to the version i posted here the other day). As with the Nemesis-Themes, I want to reuse the Deathpenalty-melody in order to create Theme-songs for certain characters, events, locations and whatnot. Enjoy!

@Linnet5: I like how it is exactly like you described it. There's a warm acoustic sound in the beginning for the cozy "home sweet home" feeling, and then there's the synthtic chords to create the contrast. There's some minor, rather technical things I didn't like about the track though. The synthetic chords have every once in a while a little ducking effect going on, for example at around 1:22. My guess is, there is too much compression on the chords. Also, the flute has a weird quality to it. Some harsh high mid frequencies that wobble along with the vibrato. It should be easy to fix with some eq'ing. @Master Taffer: It does sound empty. I know i was on purpose, but it just sounds like it lacks something. There is pretty much just two instruments. What about some light percussion, maybe some noise in the background for some spacey atmosphere, a pad somewhere? I don't know, the track simply sounds unfinished. Especially for a title theme. With these sort of themes, I would want to get the player hooked to jump right into the game. _______ Battle - Death Penalty This is another battle theme. Arrangement is pretty much down. The mix is not done yet. Also, it doesn't loop. I'll fix these things later on. As I did before, I wanted to include a very memorable melody, so i can resue it for other tracks. With this, you can create a theme song for certain characters in the game. When a specific melody comes up, the player should immediatley know who's coming or what's going on. At least, that's the idea.

Here's another one. Burden Actually, I'm not quite sure, if it's fitting for an RPG. The intro is quite long and it has quiet part in the middle that can easily interrupt the flow of an fast paced RPG. However, it might work as a dungeon theme, perhaps in a tower or a fortress. Also, I'm considering going easy with the real instruments next time. An RPG always has a somewhat artificial, surreal feeling to it, so it's worth trying to mirror that in the music and not making it seem too real. Otherwise it probably wouldnt fit.

Happy new years to everyone! It's been quite a while since I posted an RPG-song. New year, new luck, so here we go: End of Us It's supposed to be an epic theme just before the final fight, or before the characters realize, shit is about to hit the fan and they need to gather all their courage and strength to face the ultimate challange! edit: and before anyone asks: yes! It's based on this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-7Xd7DlMyQ I listened to this theme and I loved it so much that it inspired me to an rpg-song

Thank you! That keeps me motivated! I included yet another track to the first post. As I said, I wanted to include the melody from battle06 to various tracks. That being said, I made a track that's supposed to be a character-theme-song. Enjoy and feel free to use all of these tracks (for non-commercial purposes and with credits included)

(push) I included Battle06 to the starting post. It's the same track I posted here, only this time it's a looping .ogg and I named it "Nemesis". The idea was to include a simple and easy-to-remember melody that can be reused for other tracks, thus creating a theme for a specific character throughout a game. I plan to do more tracks with this melody and we'll see how it will work out.

@geluf: Indeed fitting for some tactical battle. These kinds of wars where you see the whole world map right in front of you and you have to decide where to strike first. The intro creates this great anticipation. The middle part and the last third reminds of the epicness and the dimensions of the war. The production sounds clean and strong enough to me. Could imagine this in a commercial project. Now, while this track already creates a rich atmosphere, it still feels sort of empty. I would have prefered it, if there was some more percussion to emphasize the rhythm of the low strings, especially during the first third. It should be very much possible to include some orchestral percussion elements without distracting too much from the melodies. However, this is based on my personal taste. @kindmadness: It sounds like a good ol' standard rpg-battle. Sounds a little goofy, yet still fitting for an action-heavy battle scene. Would sound good in a light-hearted, humorous rpg. Got the atmosphere down. However, that ascending trumpet (?) melody gets annoying after a while, there is just a tad too much of it. Maybe change it to another instrument for some parts, or just skip it at some parts. Übrigens: Grüße aus Deutschland! ______________ Now, I have a WIP I'd like to share. It's a battle theme for some sort of rival or nemesis character. The idea was to include a very memorable melody that could also be used in different tracks, to give a specific character in a game its own theme song/theme melody. https://copy.com/qWZL8yeW2DuizAHg

Maybe. There was a chiptune in a best-of-all-chiptues-compilation that made use of a chord-progression that i also used in this track. I've always had this progression in mind and I thought it would fit here. Other than that, I can't really remember any song in particular that inspired me. Some of the other songs are definitely inspired by specific songs, though. For example. the Zinnia Battle Theme for "Pokemon Champ".

Thank you! I added another town-theme and a dungeon-theme to the first post. The town theme is suppsed to be that generic happy first new town theme. As for the dungeon, I envisioned something like a foggy forest on a mountain. Hope it works, and hopefully someone will find it useful enough!
  12. Hello, everyone! Since I'm not only trying to get my head around RPG-music, as you can see here, I'm also producing electronic tracks just to enjoy on your free time. It's mostly drum and bass, dubstep, but you can also find some 4/4-beats over there. Basically, if you like angry and heavy bass lines, I think we'll understand each other! At the bottom of this post, I included some of my songs, so you can get an idea of what I sound like. If you don't absolutely detest that style and/or the quality, then I'll gladly welcome you over on my soundcloud, where I also listed other social media. Edit: Dang it. This is an RPG-forum! So what would be more fitting than to show you guys a remix of a touhou song done by an "internet-band" in which I participate. Be sure to check out that channel as well, if you like this Remix of Satori Maiden - Third Eye And lastly, I have s WIP for solar sect of mystic wisdom - nuclear fusion

That was my fault. I corrected it. Thank you. I do have a soundcloud, I just didn't put any RPG-stuff on there. I'm considering making a soundcloud specifically for that, so everything is nicely organised and more easily downloadable. Other than that, thank you for your feedback!

Greetings to all. I have been producing as a hobby and as an amateur for some time now. Recently, I started to enjoy creating RPG-related tunes. The audio files are looping .ogg. However, they don't loop back all the way to the beginning of the song. They skip the intros and loop back to where the main part of the song begins. RPG-tracks are also uploaded to soundcloud and/or youtube. The links are .copy-links, which is basically the same as dropbox. The copy-player doesn't allow to play midi, though. I included the midi-link for some of the tracks just for download purposes. [battle01] Him Again; midi [battle02] Someone Special; midi [battle03] Clash; midi [battle04] Pokemon Champ [battle05] Ancient Beast [battle06] Nemesis [battle07] DeathPenalty [Town01] Money Talks [Town02] Peace and Quiet [Dungeon01] Snowy Mountain [Dungeon02] Burden [Theme01]_Nemesis_Encounter [Theme02] End Of Us
