What's the best way to make interiors? (How many maps do I use?)

You can made individual maps for the rooms if you don't want players to see the chests, that's simple enough. Or you could hide the chests so the player has to actually check the rooms. If you don't want players to see events that're going to happen, just use switches so they don't see the event until the right point. You should definitely transition each floor, It'll make everything smoother and nobody minds in general. Other than that I agree with pretty much everything else the other beautiful faces have said, Good luck with your map! -

Having trouble with my main character.

OOooh! What I prefer in my characters is this: - First off some humour is nice, Aslong as it's not extremely immature and aslong as it's not overdone. - Not many cliches, Cliches make me dislike characters, For example I don't like it if the character finds out he's the chosen one, and somehow beats everything with his chosen one powers. I also don't like when the hero is a completely average lucky go happy guy who suddenly has to go on some quest or adventure across the lands, There are exceptions though. - Not a god, I don't like it if the character can beat everything easily, or if he's some mega amazing god, I like my games semi-hard but not hard to the point where I can't figure them out! - Reason, I like it when the character is able to use common sense to figure out a problem, it irks me when the character is like, "Oh hey it's a ladder, I wonder where I should put this ladder, could it be there or there, or in the discoloured portion of the wall where we need a ladder." See how that can be frustrating? There's a few other things but this post is getting too long! X3
