  1. I recently finished work on a Super Secret area (because secret area isn't enough). In this area holds the developer weapon that I put in every single one of my games called Blank. Over the two years of my games it has developed a lore behind it though a sort of hidden lore only the player could come up with if they managed to find the weapon in each of my games. But I digress... To get to this area you have to stand in a certain spot, and hit space... 102 times. Music stops... loud noises... FLASHING LIGHTS!! you spawn in a broken future dimension called. "Br0k3n R3alm" Here you have to travel in a lightless area and follow a winding path, at the end is a chest inside that holds "Blank" except in this game it's "Bl@nk". Insta-kill weapon, for testing the story events. I was wondering if anyone has created areas or even weapons like this across their games?

Common Event on Item Entering Inventory

Adding to what Shiggy said. Do they just come together once in proximity?

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY! : Purple Phantom

Everyone please wish Purple Phantom a happy birthday! I drew this over about three to four days for Phantom, featuring her character Toby from Aftermath. (Only first Chibi ever for me in the bottom right. XD)

Common Event on Item Entering Inventory

You could do what Vectra said, and check to see of the item is currently in the player inventory, or in the event when you get the said item you can add in what you want in the same event after you give the item to the player. Staff of Nazarik += 1 Text: The staff that you have found resonates with a overwhelming power. The power seems to effect your mind in an odd way. Or are you wanting the item to effect the player over time for as long as the player has it in the inventory?

    New Computer!

I probably would have gotten a 120GB SSD for OS or go all out with a 1TB SSD since SDDs are extraordinarily faster than HDDs which also means way faster load times. Good choice with the Ryzen. After all the research I did on it with it's new micro architecture and multi-threading it seems great. I wanted to get a new Ryzen, but it's on the new AM4 Socket and my motherboard doesn't support it. So I'd have to replace the motherboard as well. As well as new RAM. Well, since we are showing off computers we built, here's mine for $800 (I'm currently on my laptop so I can't give specific names) AMD CPU 8-Core 4.7 GHz Graphics Card 4GB RAM 16GB MHz 3200 120 SSD 1TB Hard Drive 750W Power Supply Windows 7 64-Bit

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY! : Purple Phantom

Also, bottom left for the Chibi. XD. It was too late before I could correct my mistake. Lol
  7. Hey guys, been a long while since I've actually made a thread about anything, but I figured this would be an interesting idea. I've drawn an interesting picture today, and I thought it would be interesting to see the kind of story what the picture makes you think of. What story does this picture evoke in you? Tell us about it. (Sorry for the quality) :My story for this picture:

What story does this evoke in you?

Hrm, interesting take. I never actually intended for the eye to look like it was inside the mountain, but in the air. I like this, very cool. ^.^ That would an interesting story to tell. Very nice, I'd like to see more stories. Going to be posting mine when I have time to do so.
  9. Working on a CG character. I drew a character base using traditional drawing, then uploading it into PS and coloring it and making a faceset. Here's hoping it comes out right.

So much delicately coloring the hair and erasing so close to the lines. XD

That;s the best way to do it. Pencil, then ink out outlines, then color it digitally. PS makes it easy to paint inside the lines. I hope you have a tablet, though. Coloring is a pain with a mouse. It keeps wanting to eat my cheese. *rim shot*

    4. Ragnos

      Ragnos

      Yeah, I have a tablet. ^.^

    Mary

Rinmaru states that you can't use their generated characters for games right? Which sucks. >.<
  11. Finished building my own computer. It has exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'll probably upgrade in the future is adding a 1TB Solid State drive. Maybe see if I can get the newest and largest 60TB SSD. XD Yeah right.

      Rezanta

Well, that's an impressive goal, better RAM your way through the byting cold snow, traverse through the Carolina Protection Unifaction, and end at the best part, which is SMASHING if you ask me.

    3. Ragnos

      Ragnos

      Rezanta, you're drunk go home.

    4. Rezanta

      Rezanta

Oh, come on XD I tried, doesn't that count?

  12. Probably not going to return to developing in RPGM anytime soon, but I wanted to see how everyone is doing.

      Tarq

      That's nice of you :)

We're adding some new engine support over the coming weeks so maybe we'll have whatever you're using.

  13. John Wick 2 anybody?

Haven't seen it yet, but I will at some point in time.

      Chaosian

I hear it's fantastic. Probably not going to see it though, don't get to see a lot of films.

That's why you stream it for free somewhere that's totally not illegal like I usually do. =)

    Ava

This is Ava. The main character in my next production Technomancer.

  15. Ragnos

    Ava

She is a "Creative" Technomancer, meaning she can create various objects using her powers. Each power has their respective aura when being used. Creative - Blue Destructive - Red Manipulation - Yellow And there are extremely rare occasions when a person can exhibit two powers. Creative & Destructive - Purple Creative & Manipulation - Green Destructive & Manipulation - Orange And in the impossible case of all three? I think you can guess that color by now.
  16. So, been working on improving my art skills. Finished a character recently named Ava. Next I'm going to work on character named Dravus. Think I should share it on the art gallery?

  17. Was going through some old google drive files to come across an old game project that never left the planning stage. Lots of potential. I'm wondering if I should continue work on it.

  18. So got a VR project starting to form with a friend of mine. Looks like I'm going to have to learn some C language. Not too thrilled since I hated C#. Python, Java, now C. Starting to fry my brain from all these computer languages...

      Chaosian

C is probably going to be a nightmare if you hated C#. I've worked with C++, and even that is a step from C# that still has me bitter.

    3. Cookie Ninja

      Cookie Ninja

I love C, one language to rule them all... Always had a hard time with these higher level languages, C is perfect it is all powerful.

Any of you know of a basic C compiler. I don't want to try to use Visual Studio again.

    A Light In Darkness

A simple image that was created possibly for an end credit picture of an upcoming side project from the Dreadnought Interactive team. But all in all this is a result of my work on CG art.

  20. Been a while, just figured I'd drop in and give a status update. Made a lot of progress on the story/stories of the visual novel I'm currently working on. Still looking for a specific kind of CG artist, but I'm sure I'll find one.

  21. Got back a little while ago from a 17 hour drive to see my girlfriend. It was really fun, but man that drive was tiresome. Hopefully I'll be able to see her again in the Summer. ^.^

      Purple Phantom

Long drive, man. Did everything go smoothly?

    3. Chaosian

      Chaosian

Heck of a drive. Too expensive to fly?

    4. Ragnos

      Ragnos

Well, it only cost $80 to get there. Love my car. Though the best part was seeing my girlfriend.

  22. Been a while. I've been programming in Ren'py for a while. Pulling my hair out over tooltips and getting global variables to work properly, but so far I've been making progress. As a personal project to get used to the code I've been making a text-adventure. I was going to sign up for the MLM, but once I heard about it, it was too late.

Real Issues in a Fictional Setting

Of course. That way many players can relate to the characters of the game and have more depth to the characters. The more "real" your characters seem the more the players are going to like them and actually care for them.
  24. I've gone to making Visual Novels with Ren'py with some friends. Guess my past Python experiences have paid off. ^.^

    1. Tarq

      Tarq

I'd like to give Ren'Py a go sometime. Not much into VN's though...

Anyways, keep us updated on your exploits here! :)

    2. Kayzee

      Kayzee

Ren'Py I think can be used for all sorts of games... still not a big python fan though.

    3. Ragnos

      Ragnos

Yeah, I don't like that Python reads the whitespace.

      @Darq- Sure thing.
