Introduction I've always loved horror games. I loved resident evil even for the cheap camp and tank controls. It's just been an ambition of mine to make my own horror games. I've been using rpgmaker engine for a while now. I'm actually pretty good with it. Just I've got one problem. I want to have batters and I can't draw. I've got two game ideas. 1 that I've been working on for a while now. The other if this one's not a good idea. First Idea. A loose "Sweet Home" sequel If you don't know Sweet Home; I'll explain it. It's a horror game with a similar plot to resident evil. Except this game was for the Nes and was based on a movie of the Same name. It was also made Capcom. I just want to borrow a few mechanics and plot elements. The first one being the party switching mechanic. The player could switch between characters and send them to seperate locations. The second being the characters tools. Each character gets their own specific tool for their class. Cop-Lighter Student-Cellphone Priest-Ankh Photographer-camera Maid-Vacuum Mechanic-Wrench Thief-Lockpick Each tool has specific function to solve puzzles and get through the game. There's just one problem. I don't have any battlers. I sorta want the battlers to be original. I just can't draw. So I came here to see if anyone could help. The center plot of the game is practically the same as Sweet Home. Except a little more in-depth and with more to explore. A group of treasure hunters sneak into the old Dunwich Mansion to steal paintings. That's the cop shows and tries to bust. They all get trapped and must go through the mansion grounds to find the seven frescos and escape. Pretty generic ain't it. I have a few maps made and items used to heal. All the basic stuff. I was hoping to get some feedback on this project. If that didn't sound good. Here's my second idea. The One I haven't started yet. Second Idea. Scifi Horror game In this game you play as a group of Smugglers travelling through space before crash landing on a unregistered planet. The planet is inhabited by humanoids who are infected with a plague. The plague causes metal to grow out from the host's body. This turns them into zombie like creature. The main character gets infected and must fight it to survive. It'd have a crafting system and advanced fighting system. Where the player must keep the enemies far away from them. Tell me what you think and if I should continue any of these ideas.

I was wondering if any would help me critique my design for this game. Its basically your run of the mill horror game. Ghosts haunting a mansion and the character has a connection to it somehow. Story The Story resolves around Jack. An orphan who is revisiting the mansion where his entire family of six were killed. He begins to see corpse of the mansion's servants stowed away in cabinets and lockers. Their ghosts will attack him. He slowly begins to realize who the killer is. Tell me what you think.

silent hill Request for help on Project
Valtiel replied to Valtiel's topic in Theory and Development
I guess I have to go with say a particular environment I want the player go through. It could be a prison,or something similar. I sorta wanted to make a game taking place in the remnants of a Nazi Concentration camp. It was taken over by something and you have to traverse the halls and ruins in order find out what happened -
silent hill Request for help on Project

Thank you! I don't want to work on a plot just yet. I want to build my mechanics first. So i don't have to constantly configure in between the two. Building mechanics and levels around story would be a mess for me honestly. I'd honestly want to do a compact story. A sort of story where to the player everything seems all in important in the beginning but eventually goes all for naught. Like every thing the player did didn't matter. Of course there will be multiple endings. Each ending however will end badly however. Would surviving be the best ending only to go insane and never have anyone believe you. -
I have a Design for a game and want some feedback and/or help with it. I've been messing around with RPGmaker VX Ace and 2003 for a little more than a year now. I was hoping to make a sort of Horror game for my first official Project. I'm working on a Mechanic where the player has a limited inventory. Similar to Parasite Eve. You can collect Book bags In order to increase the amount you can carry. The Difficulty will be reminiscent of Dark Souls. The Enemies will be only hard if you don't the equipment for them. The Combat will be turn base however. Should there 1-4 characters in a party or 1-8? Or maybe just 1? I was think of having the Aesthetic of Silent Hill but not actually copying off of it. I have no intention of making this a Silent Hill Clone. I was thinking of only having a 4 common enemies and 7 seven bosses. Each representing a form of Suicide. The Broken Man - The Broken Man has the top part of his head missing. His bottom jaw is still there but the top part his head is missing. He wears a tuxedo and holds a Six-Shooting Revolver with only 5 bullets left. I was thinking of having metal wires protruding out of his throat. What is your opinion on that. I can probably do the writing and event layout. Its just I'm a terrible Artist and Map designer. If anyone could help with that it'd be greatly appreciated. Please give feedback. Whether Good or Bad.
