  1. Hello fellow RM players and developers! UltimaCJ here it's been awhile but after nearly two years in development Destiny of a Wizard 2: Beyond the Vale is about ready for beta testing! I'm seeking beta testers for it. For those who did not play the first game, no worries, as the first game fills you on the events in the previous game in the story. For those who do not want to be spoiled, please do not read the story line below: Preview Screen Shots: Beta test release date is planned to be around March 22nd - 30th, however, if there are any delays I'll update here in the forum as well as our Facebook page! For updates and information on the game on our Facebook page such as screenshots of the game (as well as a view able teaser trailer): https://www.facebook...acjproductions/ For information on Destiny of a Wizard 2 and about the game and its features: http://ultimacj.wixs...evelopment-page For information on how to sign up to be a beta tester, please visit our sign up page: Upon beta test release date, an update will be made on the Facebook Page and an email will be sent out to those who signed up on how to download the game. Beta test sign up page: http://ultimacj.wixs...izard2-betatest Thanks for viewing and I look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, let me know! UltimaCJ / UltimaCJ Productions.
  2. I just finished Bravely Default the other day for the NintendoDS. Damn, that game was long (nearly 110 hours - but I also did about almost everything). This was a fun title for the most part in comparison to other SE games I've played. Story: 8/10 Is very well thought out and a lot of the events that go onto the game are very detailed. Although, the 'true ending' leaves much to desired and sets it up for the second game it leaves you with questions unanswered. Gameplay: 6/10 The game play, for the most part wasn't too bad. The combat system was innovative and interesting. However, the combat system does suffer from "omg take butt loads of damage" as well as bosses spamming the same move over and over. Some may find this challenging, I do not as I feel that you're winning on blind luck for the most part. With the exception of some battles to that 'hint' you a nasty move is coming, it's ridiculous even at capped levels how much damage a PC will take. With all the jobs the game offers, you would think you would have a handful of solutions to take down a boss. This is not the case, certain fights pretty much require a certain job ability, if you don't have it you're in trouble. Abilities such as Spiritualist "Fairy ward" or "Enigma". The whole world repeating thing was interesting, but it felt repetitive with the same boss battles (just more detailed story for that alternate world). Almost 60% of the game is part of this. It felt very un-refreshing. A final note about damage cap, as with most SE games usually you can only do 9999 damage. In this case, in order to break this, you must use something called Bravely Second. You only get three uses max to use and if you want to refresh this, the DS must be in sleep mode for it to 'recover' every 8 hours. Or you can P2W instead (NOT a fan of). I feel that damage cap could have been quest related rather than relying on the P2W feature. While I never had to use it, I'd rather take on a tough limit break cap quest so I can go beyond 9999 damage. The other use however for using this ability as you do get a free turn while the boss is 'frozen', so you get to go first. I normally don't leave my game units in sleep mode, they're usually off. It's somewhat of a put down, especially if you forget to charge your unit. Sound: 10/10 I will give the sound department an A+. This is one of those few hand held games that had a great soundtrack as well as the amount of voice overs in it. Some of the voice overs were a bit cheesy but I still enjoyed them and the voice actors brought the characters to life very well. I'm amazed how much voice overs are in Default. I don't think I've seen as much packed into a hand held game to be honest. Overall 7/10: Not a bad game if you weed out the annoyances of certain game play aspects but overall an enjoyable and challenging game.
  3. Hello fellow RM players and makers! About a year ago, I released my first game title: Destiny of a Wizard. For about the last seven months, I am currently working on the sequel to the game titled: Destiny of a Wizard 2: Beyond the Vale This game picks up from the previous events that ended in the first game. To those who have not played the first game in series, please do not read further as it contains potential spoilers! For more information about my first game, please visit my website to give you an idea about the first game or if you wish to check it out: http://ultimacj.wix.com/ultimacjproductions Game Plot: Game Story: Game play & Planned Features: Preview Screenshots *subject to change*: Preview Teaser Trailer (with voice over from the Narrator): Estimated Completion Date: Right now I'm working on mapping and events which is about 50% completed. The current goal is near Winter 2016 if all goes well. I'm taking my time with this project and there is a lot of new content in the second game that wasn't in the first. To see current progress of the game, please visit my website (see below). It is has a detailed flow chart in the development section. Additional updates will be posted to the Facebook page (such as status updates as well as screenshots as further progress gets made). Interested in Beta Testing?: Yes! I WILL be looking for beta testers! While I have my own beta testers to play the game when it is ready, I will be looking for at least five to ten beta testers for DoaW2 from the RM community! Those who beta test will be included in the game's credits as well as receive a free full copy of the game as well as the game guide that's made for it. If you're interested in beta testing when the time comes, please send me a PM or e-mail me (see below). If all goes well, I should be near ready for beta testers in the fall (or sooner!) Beta testers must be able to play the game from start to finish. Requirements for beta testing will be listed at that time. Demo Version: Currently there is no playable demo for Destiny of a Wizard 2 as I am still in heavy development of the project. When beta testing for the game is ready to begin, I should have a small playable demo for everyone to try out. This brief sample will introduce the player to the game as well as partial game play of the first chapter. Extra Details: Resources in Use: While this is not a full list of the resources used since the game is still in development here is what planned to be used in the project: Tilesets: DS/DS+, Samurai Resource Pack, Frontier works Futuristic Heroes, Gryowolf Music, Adventurer's Journey 1-3, Tyler Warrens Monsters, Halloween TileSet, Inspirational Music Vol 1-2, Sinister Hollows Music Pack, Evil Castle Pack, Mythos Horror Tiles, Nothing But Battles, and various community resources are planned to be used. 6. Hello everyone! Name's UltimaCJ and nice to meet you. I've ran into these forums a few times when I was first introduced into RPG Maker VX Ace a couple years ago but never made an account (not sure why). I'm not a HUGE forum person (maybe that IS why), and if I ever used forums (which wasn't often) pertaining to RM; I started with their official forums - pretty cool crowd, some nice, some strict, some picky with tilesets I was browsing this forum the other idea looking for ideas for my second game project and decided to rip the band aid off and make an account here and so here I am. I'm an avid RPG player and I enjoy them the most and I've played a few RM games before I made my first game. Unlike the regular AAA titles, the RM/Indie universe whether free or not has always made interesting stories and or/game play. It's always refreshing to see a brand new mind at work with possible potential for a great game, whether it's hobby or not I published my first game over at Aveyond almost a year ago and on my website "removed link" "Destiny of a Wizard" and now working on my second project, which is a direct sequel to the first game . I'll post more about that later in the development section as I enjoy reading feedback (good or bad!) on something I created. It's good to meet everyone and sorry for not making an account sooner. Talk to you in future posts
