    Need some feedback

oh, sry, i read "back mask" (tought it was a picture of the map already loaded in the back)hehe. But using a picture wouldn't work (since the problem here is loading the pictures). Not sure if the defealt fade feature of the maker will work. If it won't, i can make portals to make a fade out, take off the actors opacity and a disable the map background until everything is loaded

that was one of the options, but that would need even more images and would be weird if it wasn't with the same illumination. Also the player can't move while loading so that could be uncorfotable. i was thinking if making everything black until the images are ready, that would be easier and could do a cool effect.
  3. Hi! I don't have much maping skills, i end up never liking the maps i make, so i tried to try new things to make it look better. Since there are a lot of effects i think it's better to show a video instead of a screenshot: VIDEO I never liked how your character was stopped by the roof of a tile, so i used a image to do the wall and made it lose opacity when they needed to see things i also don't like how stairs look, i used shadows to fix that. The tiles looked plain so i used my video editor to change everything I also tried to make illumination effects, using light images as light and changing the screen depending of how much lights you have. The problems is loading everything. i would have to make a script call asking if image manage is ready to fix that. But i don't know how heavy this metod of mapping using images will be at long terms (if the game will be heavy or will freeze a lot). Also because i used a lot of events. I will try to use perfect colision plugin (that detects if pixel collide) to see what i can do to simplify things. Did you like what i did to the walls? Do you think is a bad idea to use images to make maps (long term lag and size my be problems)? Do you have any suggestions to improve it? What did you think about the light system (i'll have to tweak that later if i use day and night systems)? Do you know any plugin that would help? Any suggestions about the house? OBS: the house is on a small size because i used animations on the light (if i used a big map it would be bugged with the animation system) EDIT: pixel movement may be a problem for this too, since in some cases the actor will walk bellow a image .

    Damage Formulas 101 (MV Edition)

hmm, ok thanks, i tried this before but i got a error saying it's not a function(that is why i took off the ()), but this time it worked. Seens my game is a little bugged and i got myself confused because of that, sorry. Sometimes i'm getting the error saying the value is null because for some reason the custom execution command is executed when it isn't suposed to. Will need to check my plugins and I'll try to do some conditionals to fix that. as for the damage, yanfly damage control helped me with that, i used value = v[10]; in the global dmg calculation. I just need to see how i'll set it to 0 when it's a miss also, i saw that in another place (and in one of this topic posts), but you can use math. functions in the DMG formula. Could be a nice thing to add to your post (like using it to generate a random number and using "if" later to determine the DMG of the skill) EDIT: Helck FTW o/ EDIT 2: seens that the <Custon Execution> was used before the damage calculation, that is why i was getting the error, but now i managed to do it using a common event. Thanks again. EDIT 3: seens that it is causing the actors to do 0 DMG for some reason, only monsters are doing DMG like the formula (even without plugins) v[10] = b.actorId(); a.atk; EDIT 4: i solved it using yanfly DMG core, now i can store the last attacked actor ID and DMG dealt.

    i tried this: ------------------- formula: v[10] = b.actorId; d = a.atk * 4 - b.def * 2; if (d < 2) 1; else d; notetag: <Custom Execution> $gameActors.actor(v[10]).setName(popo) </Custom Execution> ---------------------------------- Formula: d = a.atk * 4 - b.def * 2; if (d < 2) 1; else d; notetag: <Custom Execution> $gameActors.actor(b.actorId).setName(popo) </Custom Execution> ---------------------------- none of them worked :/ (i used setname to see the effect easily), could you give a example of how to use it?
  6. Hi! I wanted to make a game where your actions make you stronger, like skyrim/runescape, and for that EXP is useless as it is now since the lvl of the character is meaningless. I already have systems where your defence is based on the damage you take and your avaliable skills and its power is based on the type and frequency you use it. So i want to either hide the experience of the game or create a new status page with the many levels information on it. Example in alien words: if you use a basic fire spell, +1 fire EXP/Affinity/rank points/etc each (formula or costant) (name of the EXP) you (common event). so the EXP menu would show it like that: (Type of the EXP, like fire, etc.) (how you want to call it: EXP/Affinity) level: (Variable) To next Level: PerLvlEXP + (total fire affinity - fireaffLVL * PerLvlEXP) // didn't test it with variable requirements for next level Next level rewards: (custom text with a icon) // Skill/Item/Gold/etc Example in normal words: If you use a fire spell you earn + 1 EXP to your fire level. Each time you level up your fire level you earn a new fire skill, lets say you need 100 EXP for each level + 10 EXP * your current level. and then there is a menu showing you your current level, how much do you need for the next level and what you will earn when you level up. <- That is what i'm asking here XD ----------------------------------------------------------- i can do that with common events but it would be nice if we had a script that compliments this level system, like choosing a max level, and placing script calls separed by "," to define what each level will give. Example of the settings: Max Level: 4 Rewards: $gameActors.actor(actorId).learnSkill(n), $gameActors.actor(actorId).learnSkill(n), $gameActors.actor(actorId).learnSkill(n), $gameActors.actor(actorId).learnSkill(n)

is there a way to get the attacked actor ID? I wanted to make the characters earn MHP or/and DEF as they get hurt, for example each hit they take increases the maxhp by 1. i know i can make buffs, but what i want is something permanent. well, while i wrote all that i also came up with new ideas of how to do it, but i still would like to know if there is a way to get attacker and defender ID. DMG dealt value would be nice too (for a alternative heal where you do DMG to a monster and acumulate part of it to use in a healing skill, is currently easy to do all of it with no variance in skills tought). Edit: i managed to do it by making the attack teach a skill for the target and after that call a common event that would check who had the skill and would add +1mhp to him and delete the skill.

    "Hello World!"

Hi! I'm toying a little with the new RPGMaker MV, i like to think when i'm bored about concepts like how would mana works if it existed, how would magic and monsters be created and a lot of RPG systems, so decided to put that in a little RPG and now i'm enjoying configuring all the systems, scripts and formulas of it. I'm not a script maker, but i'v some knowledge on progamming. Maybe i will learn javascrip if i don't have any idea of what to do in my RPG (in fact i learned a little), but for now i'v some things i would like to ask to the community and it seens i can't until i make a introduction here (i was very lost thinking, WOW now i'v less permission than someone without a account, good job adms), so yeah, hi! Also english is not my native language but i can read it without any problemms, so forgive me if there is any typo .
