Changing player sprites in game

I think you can do it with events and the command: change actor's graphic. Just keep a bunch of sprites with different clothes in your character folder and when they need to change appeareance, trigger an event that makes them change graphic. -

So, I wanted to make a presentation page for the game I'm making, but then I thought it would be presumptous, given that it's still in development and I need to figure out a lot of stuff. I want to do it as well as I can, and I'm a newbie to all RpgMaker's world. Sometimes the goals I aim at seem so unattainable. Scripts, a lot of things to remember, focus on, it gets pretty confusing and yet again I hope to get some reviews about this. I want to know if it's worth going on.and do it. I love the idea of a game inside a game, it reminds me of the good ol' Day of the Tentacle, where at some point you got access to a computer in the villa and you got to play Maniac Mansion, that was its prequel released by LucasArts 6 years before. Wouldn't know how to do it, but I think it would be cool.
